Levi Johnston/Bristol Palin child custody case gets moved to September.

So Tripp's custody case has been moved from July 31st, to September 8th.

Not only that but it will now be a settlement conference instead of an evidentiary hearing which means it will be closed to the public, which is of course what Bristol and her mother have wanted all along.

(Anything to keep that nosy blogger out of the courtroom.)

I can't say I am happy about this since I really wanted to be there and make sure that the Palins did not pull any shit, but this is Levi and Sunny's decision so I am going to trust their judgement.

I have heard that Levi is going for a 50/50 arrangement and I hope he sticks to that as I believe he has plenty of ammunition to demonstrate that Bristol is not a very competent mother.

Tripp deserves to see his dad at least half of the time, and Levi deserves to know that nobody will ever take his boy away from him again for an extended period of time unless he agrees to it, and unless he is compensated with equal time himself.

This is has been a long five years for Levi, and it is well past time that he broke free from the control they have been exerting over him by using access to Tripp to keep him in line.

It would be nice if Levi and Sunny forced Bristol to get Tripp into a psychologist to discuss his use of derogatory words heard on tv. Ask him where he learned them and was it often.

Yay Levi & Sunny! And Tripp! And Breeze! And new baby!

Tripp is finally going to have the real family life that he wants.

Does this mean everything will be worked out by Sept 8 and it will mainly be a private formality session?

Levi will have agreed to never talk about his feelings about the settlement? I do wish them well. Most of all Tripp. I hope Levi is strong and gets 50/50 and it is Tripp's best interest.

Tripp would benefit if the family had psychological attention.

Tripp is trapped with pathological liars and a crime family. If he has to deal with them at all it can't be healthy. Sad if Brestol gets half and he is exposed to his crazy grandmother. But kids go to the worst of parents and families everyday.

I hope that one Miss Priss Bris realizes what she's done to this child she professes to "love." I've been through this, and listen here, CHIN and Queen Heifer, you WILL pay down the road for it. I don't care how much money you have. You reap what you sow.

Hope no one is shocked by this change to closed settlement hearing. What the Palins do does not usually survive the light of day. They move like stealth ninjas in the night hoping no one will witness their shenanigans.

Bristol sees Tripp as her property rather than the little human he is. He needs his father as much as she believes he needs only her. Selfish, spiteful people get to a point where they can't help themselves. They feed on the negative drama they inflict on others but wail like stuck pigs at the slightest criticism they think is aimed at them. Tripp will probably grow up with a lot of emotional problems which he will act out much like Bristol and her siblings. She will, of course, blame any negative behavior on Levi. If only she were able to love her child more than she hates his father. The one she chooses to forget she CHOSE for him.

DAMMIT!!! Why is he caving in AGAIN??? I have sent him and Sunny so many damning infos - many of which they had no idea about, and they seemed to be really gung-ho. Now it is postponed into SEPTEMBER??? Sunny is prego, and she also wants to go to school. That does not agree with a September schedule!

Levi is not caving. And the Palins don't have any influence in the court system. This is standard operating procedure for custody cases. Levi has a great lawyer this time around - a more respected lawyer than Bristol's - plus he is not a publicity hound.

Most courts require the parties in custody cases to attend a settlement conference before moving forward with court proceedings. It doesn't mean they've settled. It means they've agreed to try to settle by attending a settlement conference, which is like a mediation, but with a judge conducting the conference (but not the assigned judge).

      Delete
    3. Yes Anonymous 6:01 is correct.

If Levi does not like how this conference goes he still has the option to taking Bristol to court in front of their original judge.

And by doing this he has demonstrated his willingness to be fair and work with Bristol to resolve the custody situation while avoiding an actual court case that she clearly does not want.

How it works in my state too, Gryph, thanks! Of course she doesn't want the court case. All the ish will come out.

    5. It's more likely the Palins caved, as evidence in a hearing of Ms. Palin's parenting style might not work to her benefit.

NAL but...I suspect that most people paying a competent attorney will be told it is always preferable to reach an acceptable settlement instead of going to trial. Legal costs are minimized, and the stress and expense of trial prep are avoided. The uncertainty of a trial decision is also avoided.

However, it takes two to tango. If one side is vindictive or is willing to spend time and money to bleed the other side, then satisfactory settlement may be impossible.

Hopefully for Levi and Tripp a certain public figure isn't calling the plays and paying the bills for the hair salon bidnesswoman.

Bristol has no choice. She is under control. She doesn't pay high price attorney fees. Mama Bear tells ambulance chasing attorney what is best for her. Bristol thinks she is making decisions. Bristol owes Sarah for messing things up earlier and Sarah knows how to work her.

Thankfully, Levi does have a chance in a court of law.

Also "wannabe" Kardashian syndrome, child cruelty, poor diet, plastic, freaks, greed, fraud, phony religion, grandiosity and so on. No one is forced to read or look at what they don't want. Sickness of all types is on the internet and is discussed. Many want to find cures. It is not all negative.

Since I don't know what's going on behind closed doors, I hope Levi's lawyer fights his hardest to get Tripp the help he deserves after five years of being Mom's little stud pawn being exploited and used to hurt the Johnston Family, especially Levi. She drug that kid cross country and made Levi's life a living hell for way too long.
How many single moms have biological fathers trying their best to do what's right for the kid? Bristol doesn't realize how good she's had it, and Levi better but some kind of stipulation in case she reverts back.

If Levi listened to Gryphen from jump street, he wouldn't have been in this mess for so long. Good Luck, Levi, Sunny, Tripp, Baretta, and the new sibling on the way.

There was never a need for Tripp to go to AZ. His flighty Mom could have gone and he couldhave stayed in the school he started in at the being of the year. Multiple studies have shown school hopping in the midst of a year can cause loss of learning time for a child. That is the reason many parents( if possible) wait until the end of the school yr to move. I have known many families where Dad moved ahead and Mom stayed with the kids until the end of the yr. Also, Tripp could have been in hockey with his classmates building lifelong friendships. I hope Levi knows his rights and doesn't allow himself and his son to be short changed again.

Bristol is 24 years old and since she birthed Tripp she has moved for the many dwellings she purchased. Her Mom's attorney's do that for her but she changes places often. No only the ones they set her up in, rentals, too. And trips. She has been like a nomad gypsy. Changing men replacements for the child along the way. It has been hell for a young boy. He is only 7 or 8. He can never get those years back.

Plus she shot Levi effigy with a rifle and enjoyed it. His grandmother grumbles on camera about his father as dead, like deadbeat. How do children interpret those things? Bristol manipulates the child on television to make a scene where Levi doesn't care and won't come to see him... one could Write books of many pages with the nightmare the child has suffered with Bristol. On top of all that Bristol can't cook and serves brain poison packaged foods. Sugar, sugar, sugar, sugar and much more toxic sweetening. Bristol is like her mother and angry and viscous about the First Ladies caring about children, exercise and diet.

It is hard to say who is the worst mother, Bristol or Sarah. I guess they share the title.

Well anyone that knows anything about child custody or how to achieve the results will say this. The most stable grounded parent that provides a home and room for the child will have custody during school months and other have summer. The agreement can be anything they want it to be.
Clearly the best place for Tripp is in Alaska to attend school and have a quality lifestyle with his father, stepmother, sister and Johnston family. Bristol wants her career and fame, she should go for it. Everyone should let this child live as normal a life as possible. The best gift to a child is a stable grounded childhood and home. Let us hope Tripp receives this.

This is good news for Tripp Johnston and the Johnston family. Remember that the Palin's leaked the news that the custody case had been 'closed'. No doubt they are horrified at having a public trial. So now they are willing to settle. And the end result will be a happy little boy who gets to be with his Dad on a regular and consistent basis.

I have some concerns I want to share. As stated, this will now be a settlement conference which means it will be closed to the public, which Bristol and her mother have wanted all along.

Gryph wanted to observe to make sure that the Palins did not pull any shit,

After reading this post and comments, I'm questioning why everybody is saying "the Palins and Sarah Palin when it comes to this case as if the Palin's (which means Sarah and Todd) will be there.

The only Palin that should be there is Bristol with her lawyer. Bristol is old enough to write sophisticated blogs, she's old enough to go to the hearing without her mama.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Well clearly Bristol is NOT sophisticated enough to write her own blog, but I agree that Sarah will not be allowed in the conference room.

However her lawyer will be, since she and Bristol share the same one.

I don't think Sarah needs or will be in the court room. She owns the attorney, he will be there for Sarah, albeit they will say Bristol. The dude is not family law, he is trial lawyer, personal injury. Is that an attorney an independent single mother would hire? No. It is the grandmother's attorney. It is not exactly rocket science. Like who believes Bristol writes her own blog? Is that all Nancy French's doing? Bristol has a pattern. It is to be used and set up by her mother. She is 24 now. She changed for this one time. Doubt it.

Betcha that part of the settlement hearing is that Levi will not be able to disclose the details of the hearing. The PALINS do not want to be embarrassed that they gave in or what they agreed to.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anonymous1:18 PM

Levi would cave if he agrees to that. The Palins will write up everything they want said and have it ready to go to press as soon as it is settled. Even if both sides are to remain silent, the Palins can leak. It's what they do. They will write what Levi is to say if he goes for that again. We'll see.

Levi has been gullible but it seems he is no more. Time will tell. I hope he doesn't feel he has to sell his soul. He has a good lawyer and he should come out a free man with his son in his life as it should be.

Public people can be respectful toward one another if they have a disagreeable situation. Levi never called Bristol names when he wasn't pleased. People should still be able to talk the truth. The truth will be positive for Tripp. The public will press for it even if Levi caves.

      Delete
  20. Anonymous8:12 AM

6:01 is correct. This is standard for custody and other civil cases. Both sides are ordered to try to settle before going to trial. This type of hearing is closed because it is a negotiation, similar to mediation. The parties can speak a bit freer because it's not on the record.
