This is a great,. and very informative, interview with Joe on the day his book was first released.
Pay special attention to how Joe describes how terrified people were, and still remain, of Sarah Palin in Wasilla.
And then keep that in mind as you consider how hard it has been to get people to talk on record, or to reveal too much of what they know about Sarah.
At the 28:00 mark Joe even relays to the interviewer the fact that Bristol's lawyer, Thomas Van Flein, threatened Mercede that if she spoke to Joe she would keep Tripp away from Levi and his family. (He used the same threat to keep her from talking to me by the way.)
If you hag in there at the 32:06 mark you get to hear Joe say that he does not know if Sarah and Todd are Trig's parents.
All I can say after watching this is how much I miss Joe.
He could be an abrasive person at times to be sure, but damn was it fun to collaborate with him.
We remained in contact after the book came out, even after all of that hullabaloo about Frank Bailey's book, and I miss seeing an email of his show up in my inbox with the header "Did you see this?"
Those always proved to be interesting and informative, just like the man who sent them.

She knew how to bully her way through anything that stood in her way up there. But, when her performance on the national stage began going badly she panicked. Thus the catatonic behavior; she was out of her element and a anti-social borderline personality like hers flies apart in uncontrollable circumstances. She began casting about looking for places to cast blame for her own inherent and up till that point hidden inadequacies.

She has gone from having droves of people showing up to see her to her Last Stand in Tennessee where she couldn't get 400 people through the door even though free tickets were available.
We will see what happens in the future. But for now, our Sarah is on the mat and the referee is starting the count.

They (Palins) didn't threaten to sue Shailey when the book was published which was their normal procedure (in those days) when something was said or written about them that they didn't like! Investigations should be done and all financial records obtained (from banks, etc.)and reviewed to include those of the Palins.
Shailey published proof sources in her book - receipts, etc. Plus, indicated that Todd had a two-toned dick. Police men are taking photos of men's privates parts these days when they are arrested...perhaps the same should be done to Todd along w/DNA obtained from Todd, Sarah, Bristol, Shailey and others - to verify who are the parents of Trigg.
I thought Shailey was in the witness-protection program because of her fear of the Palin's retribution after her book, Boys Will Be Boys was published. Isn't there a movie based on the book to be released soon? All of this can somewhat explain Sarah's mania the past two weeks especially her rant of the impeachment.

When that wasn't enough, cruising the Web for more is how I eventually found my way here. Chapter 19 laid out everything about the Trig question, and the picture included of her pregnant out to here long earlier with Track is no woman who could hide a subsequent, real pregnancy. He comments on what Sarah says and does, it's right there in videos and ghostwritten screeds. DeleteBack in 2009, over at Audrey's blog (Palin's Deceptions), we discussed how frugal and cheap Sarah was. We were trying to figure out how she could get out of paying for Trig's birth. She was trying to keep everything quiet and denying Bristol was pregnant.
DeleteWe couldn't come up with how she could pull it off. I tried to think of everything, but no luck. Then, the e-mail that came out much later, told me what I think happened.
The e-mail was from the SOA, Benefits Div., addressed to ~ Gov. Palin asking for her new child's birth certificate. It was dated May 21, 2008, and they needed it before they could pay claims they were holding.
It took me a week to figure out how the e-mail could possibly be addressed to her when we knew she had faked her pregnancy. The only way this could have happened, had to be because all the bills/invoices/care for Trig, had to be in her name.
Did Dr. CBJ give Bristol prenatal care, deliver Trig, and put all the paperwork in Sarah's name? If so, that enabled Sarah to submit all the bills to her state insurance. Hence, the e-mail addressed to Sarah.

We can put that one to rest, anon@758, they established themselves as the worst parents in the world in 2008, when the questions about Trig first surfaced, and instead of doing something totally crazy like, idk, maybe releasing a birth certificate or even a photo of Palin in the hospital holding her new pride & joy, they couldn't throw Bristol under a bus fast enough, announcing to the world that she was pregnant, so she couldn't have given birth in April. (The fact that Trig was born much sooner wouldn't come out until later, of course, thanks to the tireless efforts by the Palin watchdogs.) As a parent my heart went out to Bristol at that point.

The “outting” of Bristol Palin by her crushingly insensitive mother as an attempt to spin Palin’s pregnancy story rang incredibly off tune for a presidential campaign strategy. Nobody with half a brain could escape this reality except McCain supporters who recognized their candidate was fatally flawed and turned the other way, dug in and decided to ride the wave. I am still amazed this was not discussed more by Schmidt and Wallace. They must have known Palin was a problem immediately. But, as a mother of daughters, my heart hurt for Bristol. Is is possible that Bristol/Sarah have terrorized Tripp into not talking about Trig and Trig's parents and other family matters to keep Tripp silent. That may be why they don't want shared custody, because then Tripp would not be so afraid of telling the truth (spilling the family beans) during an extended stay with Levi?

ReplyDeleteMy dad was a huge fan of Joe's back when he wrote for the Philadelphia Bulletin newspaper. He collected clippings. Joe wrote about many topics, and he sincerely considered Alaska his second home. He got a raw deal when he published this book and he didn't deserve any of it.
Rest In Peace, Joe. And thank you Gryphen, for sharing your memories and friendship with him. Another Alaska Blogger wasn't as kind and mourned him way before his diagnosis with cancer.
