Republican strategist responding to Sarah Palin's calls for the impeachment of President Obama. "Who cares?"

Courtesy of Mediaite:

CNN political commentator Maria Cardona spoke first on the issue, giving a serious answer about Republicans’ efforts to distance themselves from Palin, but when it was Ana Navarro’s turn, she was incredulous about the whole thing.

“I think it’s unseemly for the attorney general of the United States to be responding this way to a Fox commentator, and I think she’s the host of an outdoors show or hunting show or something,” Navarro, who served as a Latino outreach surrogate on the McCain/Palin campaign, said. “I mean, the right answer is ‘who cares?’ She’s not in a position to make it happen. She’s not in a policy making position. Nobody in leadership, nobody in a role of responsibility in the Republican Party, nobody with the actual ability to make impeachment happen has said anything about impeachment, so really, who cares?”

“It would be like if I said, ‘you know what, I don’t like kale. I think we should impeach kale,’” she continued, before adding that she particularly hates it in juice form. “Who cares?”

Damn! Palin is getting absolutely no love from the Republicans these days.

However there is at least one conservative whose impression of her seems to be stuck back in 2008.

And that's John Andrews, founder of the Centennial Institute at Colorado Christian University, who is inviting Palin to come speak at the Western Conservative Summit this year:

While some politicos make the argument that the influence of the former Alaska governor and 2008 vice-presidential candidate is waning, Andrews strongly disagrees.

"I've been in politics for 40 years — I worked as a speechwriter for (former president Richard) Nixon," said Andrews....I've seen stars rise and fall, but I've never seen anything like Palin. ... Her endorsement is more coveted and more potent than anyone's out there."

Andrews says he's been trying to get Palin to attend the summit since she made an appearance on the CCU campus in 2011.

Yeah I think perhaps SOMEBODY has been guzzling the Palin flavored Kool-aid.

I think in this case Navarro has Palin's number and that Andrews is in for a huge let down.

  1. Navarro is right about Holder; he should have said "who cares", or even better "who?" Just ignore her. Although that hasn't made her go away.

Andrews said "I've seen stars rise and fall, but I've never seen anything like Palin."

I've never seen anything like Palin either. She's the most disgusting, ill-informed, uneducated, incurious, vile, vulgar and irresponsible "politician" that I've ever seen whether on the local stage, a statewide stage or the national stage.

    1. WHO CARES? I do, because not only is she all of those things, but makes that list justified and laudable for GOP politicians & the millions and millions of uneducated, ill-informed Americans who vote for them.

Somebody as ignorant as they are has finally come along to be their "spokesman" where opinions are as good as -- no, better -- than facts. And all facts are just Librul lies.

I am so sick of her, but getting her to go away now is pointless -- her damage as been done.

Tonight Chris Matthews brought up Mississippi politics and how bad it is in that area. Palin's McDaniel is dirty and ugly and there is not much of a chance for improvements.

Well that guy just asked for the Palin Curse to rain down on him, now didn't he? He's most likely thinking with his dick, (although I can't imagine why, but then there are men that will go for the filthy, disgusting women like Palin) since the records sure don't support his statement. Seems he's been pining away for her to give him some attention and attention he shall get, though he will live to regret it, that's a given. He's living in the past, that's for sure, but then so is she, stuck in 2008 and still pissed off that she didn't take the crown.

IMpotent is more like it, you poor soul. Clearly you haven't been keeping tabs on how reviled she's become, how she can't even pull in a crowd in a RED state that has advertised her appearance for months. She's being mocked and ridiculed by REPUBLICANS all over the media, as well as anyone who sees her for what she is, a political whore, an attention junkie and a seditious harpy.

She may have had some clout in 2010, but she sure doesn't have it in 2014. I've also noticed that she generally endorses after the candidate is already expected to win, or when someone else with real clout in the GOP (Cruz, Romney, Paul, Bush) has thrown their support to that candidate. When she goes it alone (Handel, Lonegan) they lose by a landslide. That list above is probably only partial, since I remember lots more endorsements, and losses and that list includes 2008-2014. She is becoming more and more toxic and it shows in her track record.

And this little nugget from the article:

However, he's quick to add that the biggest "get" for this year's gathering might be Ben Carson, a former neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins who in 1987 led a team that successfully separated conjoined twins. Carson has become the focal point of a campaign to draft him for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination.

Besides Palin and Carson, other expected participants include Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and former presidential candidate Rep. Michele Bachmann.

"American values, conservative values, God, Obama is evil, lame stream media, reload, strong family values, Muslims are taking over America, send the children back where they came from, country first, faith, freedom, guns."

What kind of drugs is this guy John Andrews (never heard of him before) taking? They must be pretty potent!

And, with regard to the CNN interview, I think Eric Holder was perfectly entitled to respond the way he did. Over the years Sarah Palin has been pretty free with her insults addressed to him. Good for Holder! Gee, the GOP is still reeling from President Obama's Austin speech!

Too funny. The moron that wrote speeches for Tricky Dicky, that 'president' who fled the White House in a helicopter before he was not only impeached, but probably facing criminal charges, too. Yeppers, resign, appoint your successor for a pardon.

Then, there's the cast of characters today. Seriously? Palin, Carson, Ted Cruz, Piyush Jindal, and retiring (praise the deities) Michele Bachmann, plus their fellow travelers in idiocy Rick Perry, Frothy Santorum and a clown car too full to mention all the idiots.

Please, please, please dear goddesses let these clown fill the airways, until it is too late for Mittens, Jeb and the criminal Christie to 'save the day.' Clown on Republicans!

She ran - like in running away - resigned - scared as hell - watch her resignation speech -knowing full well she'd done something awful and had been caught!

The majority of Alaskans would love to see her in jail - in Alaska - in orange - and to never have the publicity she so lives off of today. She'd die quickly, I'm sure! Her perfect demise perhaps?

Palin's college degree was never provided to the public even though McCain was the one that pushed her college education and the fact she was an 'energy expert'! NOT!

Steve and Nicole were the two closest to her during the McCain campaign and they reported how screwed up and inept the woman was! "Game Change" book and movie - everyone should view or read it.

Similar as to what she was like in Alaska during the time she served her 'half term' as gov! Todd would call in to her top Administration person (Frank Bailey) and indicate what her emotional status was, when it was bad, bad, bad! She was a fucking mess and still is today!

Ana Novarro is right, except for one point. Why was it unseemly for General Holder to speak those words? It's obvious that he doesn't care, the white house doesn't care, and kale doesn't give a shit.
I thought Holder SHOULD have said what he did and put the ball directly in the GOP's court. She's their problem, and they gotta fix it or suffer the consequences.

I think Holder said it short and strong, what more does he have to say? She was a bad VP candidate and she is a bad judge of basically anything consequential. What exactly do you think he should of said?

    2. AKinPA7:36 PM

I agree, Anita Winecooler. Ms Navarro's "Who cares?" is wishful thinking on her part. I'm sure the GOP establishment cares especially after her call for impeachment filled the Democratic coffers quite nicely the other day. They can try to write her off as a lunatic but they'll alienate their rabid base and then where will they be? It would be delicious if Palin lost the Senate for them again as she did in 2010.

And, Ms Navarro, if the Attorney General's answer to a question is "unseemly," how would you describe the hate-filled, sexist, threatening, seditious, mostly unintelligible, nonfactual crap that your former GOP vice presidential nominee spews on a regular basis? Maybe the illustrious neurosurgeon (snark), Ben Carson, can work his magic and deftly separate her from the GOP. But until then she's conjoined with you guys. And, a dismissive "Who cares?" isn't going to change that.

    3. I agree, Anita. He quite clearly said short and to the point that she wasn't a good VP candidate, and ignorant regarding impeachment.

Therefore anything she had to say wasn't worth discussing. Perfect.
