Gun sales are up across St. Louis since the shooting of Michael Brown and subsequent nights of violence.
Sales have quadrupled at ‘Metro Shooting’ in Bridgeton according to owner Steven King. He says sales have mainly been to men, but not all:
“Probably a dozen or two dozen guns to females, single mothers. We’ve sold to black people, white people. We’ve sold to asians who have businesses on West Florissant.” said King. “They’re just afraid of whats going on and they’re coming in to purchase either additional firearms or their first firearm.”
King says he’s personally seen the fear in their eyes and feels the sorrow in their hearts. King says he’s not raised prices but he knows that some are raiding their savings accounts, feeling that having a gun is that important.
He says nearly 100 percent say they are buying them for defensive purposes. “They’re buying AR-15s, home defense shotguns, handguns, personal defense handguns something for conceal carry.” said King.
This is why the NRA loves violent situations like this.
The more frightened people are, the more likely they are to turn to firearms to help them to feel safe.
Every movie and TV show we see demonstrates the ability of a gun to immediately solve just about ANY conflict.
However the sad truth is that the more firearms there are in a community the more likely that someone innocent will be shot. And considering that this whole thing is the result of an innocent unarmed man being killed by law enforcement bullets, it will only increase the sense of tragedy for more deaths to occur as the result of bullets fired in anger or fear in response to that death.
Not only that but all of these firearms then feeds into law enforcement's fear of being outgunned, which inspires them to purchase armored vehicles, military style flak jackets, and assault weapons, which emboldens them to act as an invading force rather than peace keepers, and the chain reaction continues while weapons manufacturers and military suppliers rake in the profits.

It's heartwarming to see people concerned about others and their suffering at the hands of armed domestic terrorists.
DeleteThese idiots buying guns are insane because the real fear they have is of armed black people doing harm to them. As an unarmed black person I'd be happy to tell them they have nothing to worry about. If one black person shows up in any street in America armed----half of that city's black and hispanic citizens will be dead by nightfall because the cops will kill them--armed, unarmed, old, infant, able bodied, physically challenged.

Everyone else will be armed to the teeth in the streets where the cops will be licking them like newborn kittens and smiling because they are being "patriots".
These idiots should be more afraid of men who could be their brothers (and they probably are) accidentally shooting them at a family picnic.

ReplyDeleteNot to worry, guys. It's a well-known fact that Blacks only have three-fifths of the 2nd Amendment rights of Whites. What this means in practical terms is that Blacks are not eligible for "Stand Your Ground". They are allowed only to "Stand, You!". ;-)

Speaking of Ferguson, Missouri and the war gear their local police force displayed against their black community a couple of nights ago - there is a published map on the internet showing what other cities and states have been provided the same type gear.

Have to admit that the war gear is in place all over the country which is frightening to say the least!
It's always fear that drives people to madness. Works every time, and the gun manufacturers know it.
