New book claims Florida's Marco Rubio takes politicians to strip clubs, gets them drunk, and then takes pictures for the purpose of blackmail. Damn!

Courtesy of Alternet:

Peter Golenbock’s The Chairman: The Rise and Betrayal of Jim Greer pulls back the curtain on Florida Republicans’ inner circles and their shady dealings. Greer lambasts his former colleagues for trying to scuttle Charlie Crist when he was the Republican governor, and then accuses Crist of betraying him. (Today, Crist is again running for that office as a Democrat.)

Greer says U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio is little better than an extortionist, taking fellow Republicans to strip clubs and taking photos to subsequently bribe them.

Is it true? Greer wants us to believe him, and recent Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) actions bolster his claims of skullduggery and high-flying Republicans.

Greer made national headlines in 2012 when he was accused of taking $125,000 in Republican Party funds when he was state chair and Crist was governor. Now, according to the book, Greer says he was railroaded and scapegoated by Tea Partiers who really wanted to target Crist. He said he pleaded guilty to avoid a longer sentence, and blamed his misfortune on unswerving loyalty to Crist, who has denied any prior knowledge of Greer’s misdeeds. (On the 2014 campaign trail, Crist said he hadn’t read it and did not recognize anything in reporters’ accounts as “truthful.”)

After a severe drubbing in the press during his trial, Greer wanted to tell his side of the story, so he sought out author Golenbock, who agreed to work with him. The result is The Chairman. Greer has no financial stake in the book.

The account is filled with behind-the-scenes views of top GOP officials, power plays and treachery. There’s lots of steamy stuff. Greer recounts the pay-offs, prostitution, powerful “dragon ladies,” blackmail and more. One of the most eyebrow-raising episodes concerns Rubio and his cronies.

“According to Greer, Rubio would take first year politicians to Miami strip clubs, get them drunk, and then take pictures so they could blackmail them,” Golenbock said. “That’s the one thing in the book that surprised me...I know politicians will go far, but I didn’t think anyone would go that far."

Greer says Rubio doesn’t want African Americans or gays in his Republican Party. He doesn’t want immigrants to have any rights either. Neither does Rubio want the state to take federal funds to expand Medicaid under Obamacare, or to build high-speed rail lines, another Obama-proposed economic stimulus program.

The prevailing ethos in GOP circles is the quid pro quo, which, according to Greer, means that no one does anything for anyone without getting something in return, and keeping that side of party business secret.

Holy crap!

The article goes on to reveal some rather scandalous stories from inside the Florida GOP, and then links to articles that lend credence to those claims.

However it is Rubio who virtually gets buried under a mountain of information that should result in his expulsion from the Senate,  a severe reprimand from the Republican party, and possibly several Federal indictments.

Personally I have no problem believing almost everything that I read.

Florida is well known for its corrupt politics, and shady backroom deals.

And if even a portion of this is true, then Marco Rubio is one of the biggest scum suckers on the planet.

Someone named Marco Rubio, son of Cuban immigrants, doesn't want other immigrants to have any rights. Nope, don't see any hypocrisy in that.

Oh please, please let this all be true. One more GOP rising star bites the dust!

The book was published on June 1, 2014. I wonder if MSM can continue to ignore it now that Alternet has done this story.

Sounds a lot like what Todd and Sarah did, doesn't it? See "Boys Will be Boys" by Shailey Tripp. Wonder which person insisted Bristol's son be named after Todd's prostitute as a reminder to Todd?

2:30 PM Troll, you are a LIAR, Bristol, Levi, and Todd knew all about Todd's Prostitute. 'Life's A (Shailey) Tripp. It is not a coincidence that Bristol and Levi named their son TRIPP. Levi was still mad at Todd for pulling a gun on him, so he got back at him. Hey, Todd, 'YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE' ring a bell?

This whole article and affair (non-pun intended) sounds so much like Sarah and Todd. No wonder they took to so quickly and so well to the whole scammer, what's in it for me lifestyle.

Palin is mentioned in the book and Alternet's article:

The Chairman has received scant attention in Florida mainstream media despite its insider information on major Republican figures like Rubio, Le Mieux and Bill McCollum, and asides on others, such as Sarah Palin, who Greer says is “dumb as a box of rocks.”

    Wow. Just wow.

I'm a South Floridian and the scuttlebutt has been that Crist was going to be shaking in his boots when Greer's book came out.

I tend to take all such things with large grains of salt, but I certainly did not expect Rubio being so targeted.

The local media including newspaper blogs is not covering this (yet).

But the Scott campaign has already had people show up to Crist events dressed as prisoners and holding signs saying things like "Crist is buddies with convicted felons like Greer".

It might not be the best idea for Gov. Scott to bring up Greer ...

I'd rather vote for somebody who's friends with convicted felons (even if that's true) than vote for someone like Rick Scott who took the Fifth 75 times then grabbed his golden parachute and ran to Florida to avoid becoming a felon! Gov. Scott shouldn't bring up felons because some of us remember HCA.

The number of times that Sen. McCain hasn't just been wrong (PALIN, PALIN, PALIN, PALIN!!), but deadly wrong, on matters of our security is nearly impossible to count. Maybe the DC fishbowl has convinced itself that McCain has been prescient. Well, I'm here to give them a quick education, because many of us who have served in the these conflicts are less convinced.

I mean, the current president has had people give press conferences saying he's a cocaine dealing and using thug who is not only into white men but fully gay. Oh and THREE gay males were killed during the 08 election, all belonging to Rev Wrights church. One mother gave an interview.

What following rumors? There's nothing after "reason". As for white vs black, of course there's women who jump on Black Men's bones, like white on rice, like Sarah on Glenn, then settle for the first white guy who'll give them the time. Then there are white women who fall in love with, marry, and have kids with black men and vise a versa.

Poor Troll, confused President Obama with Brietbart or Todd. Tell me again, why Todd had a "tripp" license plate before Tripp was named after one of the girls who "light up his life?" It must be a tradition to suggest the name of your hooker as your first grandson's name in Palin's family.

It sounds plausible, especially considering he's Cuban and doesn't want other immigrants to have the same rights he does, and besides, he knows immigrants are more likely to vote Democrat.
He reminds me of Tony Montana from "Scarface", except Tony Montana didn't get people drunk, take them to strip clubs and take compromising photos of them to be used for blackmail. Tony had some scruples.

A hundred years ago, it was the Klan that interjected itself into politics in a fashion that could be the prototype for the Teabaggers. They were quite successful, and even gained control of either Minnesota or Michigan. However, it wasn't long before the dreaded Feds had to take over, clean up the blatant corruption and racketeering, and reboot. There is nothing new under the sun ...
