Pat Robertson calls for more firearms in church. Praise Jesus and pass the ammo.

Courtesy of Crooks And Liars:

After showing a report about how some churches were forming armed "eyes and ears teams" to watch for trouble during services, Robertson suggested an approach slightly more measured than giving the congregation military-style assault rifles.

"What is the new Beatitude? Blessed are the fully armed for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven," the CBN host laughed. "I really believe that if the bad guys understand that the citizenry are able to react against them then they won't be as free to go into a crowded mall or a school or a church and start blowing people out."

"I do believe that that if people are trained with firearms, and they're able to protect themselves, I don't think it will lead to more violence, it will lead to less," he continued. "The idea of having citizens who are trained or to have off-duty police in your church is not a bad thing."

"Anyhow, it's something to consider," Robertson concluded. "You don't even think about it. You want to go to church to praise the Lord. You don't want to go to church to shoot people or to get shot."

Okay seriously whatever happened to the idea that all things are possible through Christ, and that prayer will solve any problem?

Now instead of relying on faith, these people are being urged to rely on bullets.

I mean they still advocate fasting and prayer, but apparently only when stopping to reload.

And let's not forget the shootings at the Knoxville Unitarian Universalist Church in 2008. The shooter opened up during a youth musical performance killing two. He targeted that church because of its "liberal teachings" and he wanted to kill liberals and Democrats. Liberal teachings means they closely follow the teachings of that liberal Jesus as opposed to interpreting his teachings to fit their own beliefs.

Pat Robertson has to know what the bible says about how 'in the last days' men will be lovers of themselves, and there will be a strong delusion (in the Church) where every logic will be turned upside down), and that many will fall away (from the church) because of it's apostasy. If he had any sense, he'd see that fulfillment is happening to him and half the church. The right wing conservative christians are marching ahead of this army.

In my whole experience with the man-made church, I've never seen so many drift from the true meaning of the gospels. They've been poisoned and can't even see it happening. Pat Robertson advocating guns in church? The verses of the 'strong delusion' happening (in the NT) are coming to pass. (if one is a believer in that).

Another thing, Nehemiah is OT. Christians who are under the authorship of Christ no longer are under OT law. It's mentioned time after time in the NT and epistles. This militant christianity (in the US) are causing a huge breaking away for some believers who won't even approach a church anymore. And, the NT does say that Christ will build His church, not man. So, in essence, the church is made up of believers anywhere who may or may not be apparent, or who don't attend churches. It's impossible to find a church that doesn't preach politics or twist gospels to fit a greedy agenda. There is that 'invisible' church, where no man can break into and steal from, and the NT is very clear on that.

You may leave the offering at the door. Thank you. LOL

PS. You're right, G., a christian is supposed to have only one trust (all things are possible through Christ). You nailed it. But, they don't exercise that.

Thanks for the post. I always wondered by the Christians who say they worship an Omniscient all powerful God is so afraid of so many things. Makes you wonder what their faith was truly in.

Is it really accurate that the Palins wouldn't have been invited? They have many iron dog friends. It's a small community. And a few of them were talking with WIllow yesterday on facebook about unrelated things, like nothing happened.

SMH Here's how Facebook works (for the troll) You sign up to join, and BAM you've got a billionaire friend right off the bat, Zuckerberg is your FRIEND! Then you "like" someone, they pity you because you only have one "friend", so you get another "FRIEND"! Then you "like" someone else, they call you a bitch, and everyone defriends you, except Zuckerburg because HE DON'T KNOW U!
Same with Willow. Do we rilly kneed to no they have some iron dog friends? That she was talking as if nothing happened? What do you expect? My family crashed a partay and started a brawl? Puleeze

  5. Gryphen, I highly recommend the Taurus PT145 .45 ACP semi-automatic pistol for the truly pious yet fearful churchgoers among us. Let's be honest here: saying Jeebus will protect us is a cool thing to say but with constant threats around us - even under our beds!! - I pity the fool who doesn't carry a piece just in case JC isn't around when the shit goes down!

Anyway, the Taurus is lightweight, well made, low recoil, stylish, economical, and provides quick-change 10 round magazines for maximum lethal stopping power during those crowded Christmas or Easter service shootouts.

But the best feature of this sweet lil beauty is that its small size lets you slip it into a hollowed out copy of the KJV New Testament and no will even know you're packing Bible heat until: PEW! PEW! PEW! in the pew pew pew.....

WWJC? (What would Jeebus carry?) A Taurus PT145 .45 ACP pistol, of course!

Guns in church! How awesome is THAT!!! Almost makes me want to become a Chr....

    Never mind.

Imagine how the story of Jesus in the Temple would have played out if the Money changers were all armed to the teeth: "This longhair is tipping over our tables! I don't have a duty to retreat, I'm going to kill this mo-fo!" Blam! Blam! Blam!

  9. So what are these supposed christians afraid of? Are they afraid of each other? From what I know of church intrigue--- they probably shouldn't have a weapon anywhere on the property cause someone is truly going to die.

A possible point people have not mentioned yet: If this goes over well then the NRA and the gun manufacturers will have twice as many (or more) advocates for NOT closing loopholes in the background checks!

This is part of the utter distortion and concatenation of the man-made, amendable, governing document of our country (the constitution) with the Bible, the allegedly unchangeable Word of (a) God.

These foolish, frightened, faithless (because if they had faith they wouldn't be so fear-filled) simpletons have long since conflated The Second Amendment with The Word of God that they allegedly hold dear.

Faith in Guns. = Faith in God
Power of Guns = Power of God
Depending on Guns = Depending on God
With Guns, all things are possible = With God, all things are possible
    Limiting Guns = Limiting God
    Worshiping Guns = Worshiping God

It is an ignorant, barbaric and superstitious belief system, and extremely dangerous to civilization with its requirements for human sacrifice that rival the Aztecs ("Your dead kid doesn't trump my 2nd amendment rights." -NotJoe the NotPlumber

Couldn't agree more, nefer. It's beyond sick, beyond disgusting, and surely a form of blasphemy (denying the power of God while exalting the power of one's idol: firearms).

Let's not be too hasty. Remember, Pat called for people TRAINED to handle firearms, so I think we can safely that he's advocating for measures requiring training to handle firearms and those that haven't had said training can't have a gun.

I mean, he's really advocating for gun control.

Good ole Robertson seemed to have found the third stone tablet Moses dropped on his way down the mountain. I agree with him, churches ARE extremely dangerous places to be, especially on Sundays. No guns needed, just close the doors and hold services in much safer places, like schools, malls, movie theaters and sidewalks.
