As if Alaskans needed another reason to vote Sean Parnell out of office.

Courtesy of Alaska Dispatch:

The future of the health care program that covers some of Alaska’s poorest residents hinges largely on who voters elect governor in November.

Republican Gov. Sean Parnell refused to extend Medicaid last year under the Affordable Care Act, what he called Obamacare. In a recent interview with Alaska Dispatch News, Parnell said expansion is “overly costly” and would put “an even greater burden on an already unsustainable system," though he said he is open to other means of Medicaid reform.

Parnell's independent challenger, Bill Walker, said that if elected governor he would immediately accept Medicaid expansion, extending health care coverage to Alaskans who earn up to 138 percent of the federal poverty level, or about $19,800 for a single adult. But Walker, an attorney and former mayor of Valdez, said that once federal funding for the expansion dips below 100 percent -- it is set to decrease to 95 percent in 2017 -- the state will have to re-examine its decision.

“If it helps Alaskans, then we should do it,” Walker said in an interview Wednesday with ADN.

Even once it dips below 100% there is no way this is still not a great deal for Alaskans, and I seriously doubt that anybody could take it away once Alaskans started to receive this benefit. But hey I understand politics in Alaska, and know that Walker has to say things like this for the benefit of the mouth breathers.

As it says further down in the article this Medicaid expansion would affect between 10,000 to 41,000 Alaskans, including your favorite Alaska blogger.

So to sum up Sean Parnell did not do his job to protect personnel in the Alaska National Guard despite the fact that he was being asked to do so for essentially his entire term in office.

Governor Parnell also attempted to stand in the way of progress by challenging the findings of a US District Court judge that the same sex ban in Alaska was unconstitutional.  Even though similar attempts in other states had ultimately failed.

And now we know that the only thing standing between tens of  thousands of Alaskans receiving much needed healthcare is Sean Parnell.

What more do we need Alaskans? What more do we need?

I'm an Alaskan. I signed up for the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (unoffically named Obamacare)...I have a great plan. I also have FREEDOM from being tied to a job I don't like because I'm not afraid of losing health insurance. Some of my friends and family members did not qualify because their income fell short. I believe the expansion is sorely needed.

One reason to vote Sean Parnell out of office is because he has

HIS HEAD STUCK UP SARAH PALIN'S ASS.

Alaska hasn't forgotten that you redacted a lot of her bullshit emails. What about our females and struggling mothers? Shailey Tripp had proof that Todd Palin was her pimp and Parnell did you ask for a thorough investigation? No! So any sex trafficking in Alaska has your fingerprints on it because you choose to look the other way. We also didn't forget that you also had her and her family's records sealed as if they had something to hide.

You're absolutely right. FOIA requests are a waste of time anymore, ask Malia Litman, but it sure doesn't prevent them from bonehead errors and stunts, nor does it? How they try to explain it away makes them look even more ridiculous.

Parnell always looks like a toady, ready to do the bidding of whoever's bought him. No backbone.
Walker looks like someone who's brain is his own and who will fight for his views.
And, of course, Parnell's simpering attitude toward Sarah Palin marks him as a person never to be trusted.

  8. So now that Obamacare is so successful, Parnell wants to call it the Affordable Care Act. Too bad, so sad (as my kids would say), it's Obamacare now and forever. Get over it!

Here in Maine, Governor LePage vetoed the Medicaid expansion along with a hike in the minimum wage. LePage also yanked the Medicaid waiver that Maine has had for years wherein adults ages 18-64 without dependent children can get Medicaid if their income was below the poverty level.

The Republicans say, well, you can always get care at the emergency room. No you cannot Governor. You cannot get chemotherapy at the emergency room, you cannot get cardiac care at the emergency room unless you are having a heart attack. You cannot get medicine for diabetes, cancer, heart conditions, etc... at the emergency room.

The health and the very lives of some of our Maine citizens are literally on the line with this election. Congressman Mike Michaud, who is running against LePage said he will expand Medicaid and raise the minimum wage.

And Michaud would be a shoo in to win were it not for a self funded narcissistic millionaire named Elliot Cutler who is running as an independent. He pulls votes from Michaud.

Good luck Alaska and good luck to Maine too. People's very lives are dependent on the outcome of this election.

Seen the ADN? Parnell had a pow-wow with the AKNG...
Poor fuckers are scared to say anything...
So you need to send a note to SNL and give them the info...
Then suggest they use Tina Fey as $arah Paylin for views!
That would SINK Parnell and Palin...two birds with one SNL..
