Comedian Lewis Black blasted voting restrictions in Wisconsin in an ad posted by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) on Thursday.
“Elected officials shouldn’t get to choose who gets to choose elected officials,” Black rants. “Look, people marched and fought and died for the right to vote. And they want to legislate away that sacrifice to stay in power? Not on my watch, baby.”
In my opinion any time you can get Lewis Black in an ad for ANYTHING, you should do exactly that.
And I think in this ad he perfectly reflects my feelings concerning anybody who would suppress our right to vote in this country.
Saw this last night and laughed so hard I cried! Gotta love Lewis Black

ReplyDeleteBut but but... then how would the rich and the corporations exert their influence? Lots of ways but this one is a no-brainer.

For all Sarah Palin's talk about freedom, letting everyone vote without a hassle is the greatest freedom of all. Why do the Republicans try to discourage voting? Because it is the only way they can win.

ReplyDeleteHe's the perfect person for this ad, it's the elderly who are especially disenfranchised and tricked. This happened in our state, and OFA showed up with folding seats and bottled water. Took them to get proper photo ID, etc. etc. It's a right and no one should jump through burning hoops to qualify to vote.
The greatest march that an American can participate in a democracy is the march to the ballot box. Let us march together to make America the nation that it ought to be.
