Alex Jones comes out against Net Neutrality and in support of Ted Cruz. Which essentially tells you everything you need to know about both.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

“This has been the plan for a decade – free-quote-Wi-Fi that’s paid for by taxpayers, but you have no rights on that Wi-Fi, and you can’t get to InfoWars.com or DrudgeReport.com, that the White House officials have said they want to shut down, basically,” Jones warned this week on his radio program. “So this is it, they’re coming.”

Jones, who claims to be nonpartisan, promoted a widely mocked statement by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), who misrepresented the president’s statements on regulating Internet service providers like utilities to claim “net neutrality is Obamacare for the Internet,” reported Right Wing Watch.

“Bottom line, ladies and gentlemen: Obamacare is now moving to the Internet,” Jones said. “Federal regulation and control written for select corporations, right out of the FCC to shut down all of their competition, and Republican leaders – to their credit, have now come out with statements … saying that it is Obamacare for the Internet.”

“That’s what Ted Cruz has come out and said,” the broadcaster said. “I like Ted Cruz, he knows what he’s talking about.”

Okay so Jones, who has also been quite chummy with another potential 2016 GOP presidential candidate Rand Paul,  has COMPLETELY misrepresented net neutrality here. What it does is the exact opposite of what he says it does, which of course is how the Right Wing addresses things they don't like of don't understand.

I think Alex Jones promoting Ted Cruz is a good thing, in that it allows rational people to realize just who is drawn in by the message Cruz is putting out.

I mean hell if crazy people like your crazy message, than it would be crazy NOT to run for President of the United States. Right?

Net Neutrality has nothing to do with which sites you can access. I work for one of the top providers and it's something that is discussed in every meeting.

Okay, clearly I'm missing something... wouldn't net neutrality specifically make it impossible for ANY of those things Alex is bakin' in the sun too long about to happen? And wouldn't NOT adopting net neutrality actually make all those things very doable? WTH?

    It's an either/or situation:
Either Jones is incredibly ignorant about net neutrality
    OR
he has significant interest (shares) in the corporations that are against it.

Maple, you missed one more choice: It could be BOTH (and probably is)!

The right wingers and teabaggers are getting some good treatment lately. Check out "Alpha House" season 2 if you have Amazon Prime. The episode :There Will Be Water" works the Palin "tv" station and her attack dog persona into the plot line. John Goodman's character makes SO MUCH FUN of Sarah Palin that it almost hurts. Just golden.

Only those who have monetary gain or an interest in controling content would be against net neutrality. We know Ted Cruz is in the pockets of corporate and wealth interests, and we know that Alex Jones is more fearful than a rabbit and believes that his paranoia is the only truth, and that goes for right wing propaganda, but what does the average citizen gain by restricting content and higher prices? Fear not Mormons and revengelicals, the christian taliban will take away your internet porn, then what will you do?

If the President had come out against net neutrality or not done enough to promote it, Cruz and Alex Jones would be all for it.

President received 65.9 million votes in 2012. In 2014 GOP candidates received 37.4 million votes. Who has mandate??

If Alex Jones agrees with Ted Cruz, that means I'm all in favor of Net Neutrality. Between the two of them, they've never said anything agree with, not to mention their hateful, fear mongering and divisive attitude.
