And as one, all eyes turn.

First there's this as reported by Politico:

As Democrats wake up this morning reeling from an electoral spanking, the 2016 presidential race will unofficially begin — with the main focus on the woman who is all but certain to seek her party’s nomination a second time.

 Then this courtesy of CNN:

Hillary Clinton has spent the final moments of the midterm campaign season publicly deflecting the flurry of questions about her likely run for president.

But behind the scenes, her campaign machine is quietly whirring to life.

Clinton insiders have begun to approach Washington-based Democratic operatives who may play a role in a potential campaign and are soliciting their recommendations on other possible staffers, according to Democrats familiar with the conversations.

A number Clinton associates are compiling staffing lists, according to multiple Democratic sources. Michael Whouley and Minyon Moore of the Democratic communications and consulting firm Dewey Square Group are one conduit to Clinton's inner circle and among the primary compilers of the campaign universe that will surround Clinton, should she run.

I said earlier, and I stand by it, that much of what the new Republican Senate, and their friends in Congress and the Right Wing media, will be focused on is undermining Clinton in the hopes of damaging her credibility before 2016.

Sure they will also try to destroy Obama's legacy as well, but the main focus will have to be the juggernaut facing off against them in the next election.

Towards that end I expect to hear a whole lot about Benghazi, and Russia, and the current conflicts in the Middle East. Because you know clearly those are all her fault.

We will also hear way more than we want to about Bill and his indiscretions, along with a whole slew of misogynistic comments and attacks from the likes of Rush Limbaugh and the overgrown frat boys at Fox News. In short it might just make the rampant racism that bubbled to the surface after the election of President Obama pale by comparison.

Personally I think she should announce today, just to take the wind out of the Republican sails, and to get the country focused on the election where the Republicans will finally have their asses handed to them on a platter.

Just a thought.

Is she better than a Republican?
    Well, she's pro-choice. She's not a misogynistic.
    But other than that?
She's anything but a populist. She's a corporatist through and through. The same reason she lost the nomination to Obama in 2008 still obtains. She'll do the bidding of Wall Street and screw over Main Street. She'll ramp up the level of warmongering to make Israel's dreams come true.

Not that Obama hasn't been a disappointment. I consider him a massive one. (Anyone who doesn't? Google catfood commission.)

But I think Hillary Clinton would be immeasurably worse. The only thing she wouldn't be worse than is a Republican president. But that sure as fuck isn't saying much, now is it.

Hillary Clinton would make a wonderful POTUS. If she runs, I fully expect her to win. Republicans have no candidate with her experience, knowledge or ability to communicate with ALL Americans! She is not an elitist as are so many Republicans currently serving in the U.S. Congress!

I don't know why she'd want to run though as the Republicans and media will be just as tough on her as they have been to President Obama but for entirely different reasons. Racism is their reason for President Obama womanhood will be the topic for Hillary!

Would love the 'team of the Clintons' against the media and Republicans as they'd cream their asses and it would be so much fun to watch!

    4. Personally, I think she has too much baggage to be a viable candidate. That said, who else? I just don't think Warren or Sanders has enough recognition to gain a large enough following - but neither did Obama at the beginning.

We can only hope that the GOP fields the usual clan of misfits :)

No more Clintons, no more Bushes.

This country has turned into electing dynasties and it is embarrassing.

3:04 is spot on other than 'the only thing she wouldn't be worse than is a republican'- she would be exactly the same, esp if the repub were Jeb.

"No more Clintons, no more Bushes. "

Hey! That's my mantra! (But, I'll share it.)

There is nothing that could display the farce that is American politics more obviously than a Clinton/Bush match-up in 2016... or more quickly doom our electoral processes. WHY vote if power is seized between families like Imperial Rome with its dynasties???

Do we really want a nation of patricians and slaves?

So, Chelsea Clinton and George P Bush are being groomed... why don't people who are fully in the boat for Hillary (and that means you, Jesse! who are ready to vote for Chelsea and her daughter who is barely out of the womb) realize that there are far more Bushes than Clintons, and they are far more venal.

Jeb is a signatory to the Project for a New American Century. Pax Americana. Empire and eternal war. Hillary is a member of Douglas Coe's cult "The Family" where politicians are assured that they can do no wrong, and a major supporter of Zionism. Patricians.

And an electorate so ignorant and uncaring that they'll vote on name recognition alone.

      Pah!

NO MORE CLINTONS! NO MORE BUSHES!

      NO MORE DYNASTIES!!!

So, democrats are allowed to be intelligent yet have no morals?

THIS is why a person's familial connections and personal lives should be off the table.

      Example:

one of my best friends is the best example of a polished, professional leader. She'd made the perfect politician to combat stupidity in DC or at the local level.

Problem is, her inlaws are sexual abusers, her husband, a good and intelligent man, was briefly in jail, and her own family is filled with shitloads of drama, including a stepmom who screws her stepsons.

She is normal, and has a normal life.

Fuck the media for taking away any future with GOOD leaders because of pointless shit.

HRC? No, not now, not ever. The last thing President Obama needs as he battles a rethug Congress is HRC torpedoing him from afar. Unless she plans to come out and switch to being an honest Democratic Party team player, she needs to STFU.

Don't worry, 3:35. While Hillary is torpedoing President Obama, her dear spouse will be torpedoing HER.

Former President Bill regularly sabotaged her on the campaign trail in 2008. More recently he did it while she was trying to downplay the seriousness of her head injury, while Bill was piping up about how very serious it actually was.

If Hillary does run for president, she better find some way to put a muzzle on Bill.

As for Obama, there's not much Hillary can do to him now.

Actually, I wonder if announcing soon WOULD be a good idea? I mean, the longer the media slams her, the quicker it might day out.

But blogs will always be mysogynistic, slanderous and crass. This one IS a perfect example of that, as are many other leftie blogs.

o/t -- Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Dem of Florida, is hailing the release of the serviceman who'd been kept in Mexico on gun charges since April -- the one that Sarah'd been oohing and aging about, until she forgot about him. Now a Democrat is announcing his arrival back in the U.S. Sarah's strangely quiet about her erstwhile hero.

Bullshit. I've been voting for Democrats since 1972. I've never believed in not holding them to the same stand I hold Republicans to. If you want somebody who's willing to roll over and play dead and accept any old corporatist bullshit from their candidate, you'd better turn Republican.

4:23 how can you possibly think you have any power of holding Democrats to any stand... if you have been blindly voting for them out of hand since 1972? They already have a lock on your vote, no need to cater to you. BTW you are a disillusioned fool to think corporate and lobbyist interests care what party is in power, they are all in their pocket.

  15. I'd Like to see Hillary take about a years worth of flack, then back out and turn it over to Warren. I think what the Dems should do is make a full tilt boogie frontal Progressive assault on the Presidency in 2016, and Liz is the woman to do it. The Rethugs will never know what hit them.

I disagree, Jessie. Hillary needs to bide her time....IF she decides to run. At this point in time, SHE is the main target. Thery were all FIRED up and ready to wage that war.

Cut the theater and dump the drama: reality is Progressive/Populous issues WON in several states and counties across that nation. Look at Colorado, voters rejected a very draconian abortion bill, but voted for the Dick that supported it. Populous values CAN win.....and elect populos candidates but only if we get the money out of politics and go grass roots. It has been done before....even in Alaska....and can be done again. But will Hilary accept those values? Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders are setting the goal posts. Can Hilary make the run? I will not vote for her just because of her name.
