The real cancer in this country is fairly easy to detect.
The idea that seemingly rational people can say, or accept, this kind of thing absolutely boggles my freaking mind.
This is kind of mind boggling when God is interpreted through too many of those who claim Christ without reading the red words of the New Testament.
To 'do theology' is a much more difficult task than speaking from the position of knowing the 'mind of God.' IMO.
The danger of grifting for gold in the name of God with guns is that 'enemies of God' becomes everyone (anyone) who disagrees with you qualifies to be spiritually damned and/or physically shot to death.
This faker is only in it for the cash. He no more believes his own BS than I do. Witness when he gets cancer and uses chemotherapy, radiation, and every possible thing science has derived to live longer.
That quote is so amazing that I had to go to Osteen's twitter feed to make sure it was real.
Imagine that logic being used for anything else: "If you research this car I'm trying to sell you, the facts will say this car is unreliable and dangerous. Ignore the facts. Choose this car."

The whole idea that God is above "facts," i.e. science, natural law, etc., flies in the face of basic Bible teachings**. God took 6 days to form creation--why the delay when it could have just be "poofed" into existence? Why let it rain 40 days & 40 nights to drown all the evil humans when He could have just zapped the baddies & let the innocent continue? If the rationale is that God uses natural law to do his dirty work, then it logically follows that God must obey the principles of those laws in order to succeed.
Miracles only seem miraculous because we don't have the necessary background to explain the methodology or technology. The principles by which television is possible have always existed; 200 years ago this same technology would have been considered either miraculous or demonic.
This is one of the many, many arguments that got me kicked out of more than one church by the time I was 16. Don't like it when you question their inconsistencies.
**Many of the Old Testament origin stories were lifted straight from Assyrian/Babylonian mythology. Remember how the Israelites were conquered & carted off to Babylon. Well, that's where & when they learned this stuff. Weren't too many written records before those guys.
BINGO! And this is a point of logic that religious zealots will never grasp. Not for lack of intelligence, mind you, but because science and logic are quite obviously works of the Devil..except when it comes to accounting, for as we all know, pricks like Osteen depend on mathematics to get away with economic murder.
He lives in 17,000 square foot mansion worth 10 million dollars.
Just his property taxes alone are $260,000 a year
He enjoys the very best of everything, and lives the life of a billionaire, while enjoying tax free status for his income as a "pastor".
Life is so easy for him and his spoiled rotten wife Victoria who threw a hissy fit because someone spilled something on her seat in first class on a flight, and she had to be restrained because she tried to get into the cockpit
Joel Osteen is just the most successful of the "feel good" properity gospel preachers that fleece their flock every week by collecting millions from tithes, books, and donations, and live a life of utter luxury and ease.
$arah Paylin really ought to start her own church if she wants to get the big money, instead of grifting for peanuts from the Teaparty droids and the Peebots
We don’t need no stinkin facts !! Facts just confuse the message. EVERYTHING we expect you to believe, we’ve made up for our own financial gain and control of others so they become subservient to us and our power structure.
Just ask Osteen’s wife about getting kicked of an airplane at the Houston Airport a few years ago for ‘being an asshole’. !! Check it out - absolute fact. Put ‘em all in a rest home for the criminally insane..
I just love me the aroma of stupid!! Saw him interviewed with his lovely wife "Victoria". Shot full of slicone and botox, in their multi million dollar mansion. Not quite your average "pastor" material, but he's high on my list of folks who owe millions in taxes just because they run a church and live opulent lives.
This is a question that should be used as a litmus test for Government Employment at all levels. Say yes, and you're banned for life.

I object to placing the word pastor in quotes. He herds and fleeces sheep so he is a true pastor.
