Bill Maher eviscerates the Republicans, and Sarah Palin, concerning their sudden interest in protecting the middle class.

"Now this raises a troubling question, which is, if Sarah Palin suffers a stroke how will we know?"

Best line ever!

Loved it start to finish. Had to laugh when he fumbled the Barbies, who wouldn't with Mel Brooks by your side. Mrs. Cosby, and the little joint got stuck to his finger. Hooted. Mel rocked.....spitting out liquid....zzzzzzzz on the table...si funny! I would have been nervous too, Bill, having him by your side, but it was well done and, no, we will never know if $arah has a stroke but we know she snapped mentally long ago.

What a great show....HBO re-airs for those who missed.

I think Sarah's reference to "status quo" -- "that's another Latin phrase" -- was responding to some posts here on IM last week.

Basically, for those of us who know all about the phony half-marathon, the Trig-on-Jill brouhaha, her Michael Moore sign, and the rest of her bizarre chip-on-the-shoulder references, she was crazy, but we knew what she was talking about.

For the average person in that audience, and for the rest of America, her long, long list of slights meant nothing at all, so her self-referencing stream-of-consciousness sounded like an alien from outer space speaking in a strange language about ancient events on a planet in another galaxy.

No wonder the rest of the world listened to that pitiful recitation of Sarah's victimization and shook their heads in wonder. She sounded completely off the rails.

Basically, she was giving a speech to her IM fans, who knew intimately the history of her angry tirades. Only, Sarah, your speech was meant to talk over our heads, not right at us.
We got it: no one else had a clue.

And now the buzzer's sounded and the game's over. Final score: IM = 1, Sarah = 0.

And, IM didn't even have to spill all the beans about her!!! Who ever would have guessed it would be her own party that would smash her to smithereens?

It's been fun to watch. She deserves every bit of the humiliation when you look at all the people she has harmed along the way! And, there have been many! They should all get together and write a book of their experiences as it would be a sell out - especially in Alaska!

Mrs. Palin is just an imbecile who grew up poor because her parents had too many children and didn't have the jobs to pay for them. They had to eat wild game to survive and wear hand me down clothes. They were classic stupid Wasilla christians that overbred and lived like uncivilized people eating what they could kill and chopping wood for heat.

Now Mrs. Palin is rich as hell and doesn't give two shits about those poor fucks that have to come up like she did but she still pretends to have the same values as the poor white trash she grew up as.

I've always felt sorry for that family because they just never fit in, they were poor and dirty and never had nice things, but they pretended to be proud of their disgusting poverty but they just never fit in with the "in crowd" and they tried so hard. That's why Sarah buys Bristol $1300 purses, because she always ran around in hand me downs and basically spent her school years in Wasilla looking like a busted up cabbage patch kid.

Can't thank you enough for illuminating what is painfully obvious. She was a bottom of the heap and could not overcome her upbringing with intelligence. Not possible given her mental capabilities.
Her parents should be tarred and feathered and confined to their ignorance in the forest for raising the same.
Teacher? Not possible in the real universe.
Grinding poverty will always haunt you, Sarah.
You won't ever be accepted because you remain ignorant and lazy and classless and mean.

Keep reading here to parrot your inane rebuttals in your speeches. Heck, yeah! Try that at Cambridge!

      You are our toy forever.

Well, that sure explains why she let the indigenous native Alaskans starve and freeze to death. "I got mine, EFF you." Gryph and Alaskan residents, as yourself, have been telling anyone that would listen for years. I can hardly wait to see what kind of war she wages..... /sarc

      I almost shed a tear.

Humble beginnings taught few in that family humility. Maybe the sisters, who apparently raised Sarah's kids and manage to avoid the spotlight, but the two Chucks are just as grostesque as Sarah.

      Sorry, but she wasn't "poor."
Her father had a guaranteed teacher's salary and her mother was a secretary. They were solidly middle-class. There were only four children in her family.
Her father hunted for the fun of it, and then they ate what he brought home, but I'm sure her mother had a full grocery cart every week as well. They went to church, Sarah was on a high school sports team.
She had the gumption to try to get a college education, even though she wasn't smart enough to achieve her goal.
Sarah Heath had just as much going for her as thousands of others of her age and in her circumstances. She was simply too shallow and too limited to see anything beyond the reflection in the mirror.
Her mental illness -- her narcissistic personality disorder -- has created the chaos that is her life and her family. Her family was narrow and stunted, but they had plenty of food, heat, clothing, and extras.

Many people --Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, Newt Gingrich for example -- came from poorer and less advantageous circumstances, but made themselves into leaders.

Sarah's where she belongs: Wasilla. Not because she was poor, but because she was ignorant.

7:09 is right. The Heaths weren't poor. Sarah's values are me first, f#ck everyone else, and yeah, she probably got those values from her family and all the other trashy redness that she has always associated with. She is just plain too stupid and lazy to get an education, same as her husband and all her kids (so far, but I'm not holding my breath for that to change).

She's nasty and trashy and dimwitted and over much a product of her environment.

If I had a kid being taught by either of the Chuck Heaths, I would yank them from the class and report why I was doing it to their school system! I'd also ask for proof (documentation) that both Chuck Heaths were qualified and up to date in the education they are suppose to continually receive when working as teachers.

I think Chuck Heath JR was fired due to having an affair with a young gal and getting her pregnant. Chuck SR has been a 'fill in' and I would suspect isn't doing it anymore. At least, I would hope so! But, I'd sure check in/verify if I had kids in school there!

The Heaths and Palins are a retarded group which has been proven in Alaska!

I got a kick out of Bill last night. Think he was a tad nervous w/the great Mel Brooks. But, you could tell that Mel enjoyed himself and Bill's jokes. Bill showed a sweetheart side of himself last night which was fun to see.

And, that was the best joke he has put out there EVER regarding Sarah Palin! Was perfect after watching that last speech she gave - she is a disaster and everyone has finally noticed her being so - even on the right//Republican/Tea Party! They were just a tad slow in getting there - like over eight years!

O/T. So, just saw at C4P that Palin is now on the Mark Levin bandwagon, calling for a Convention of the States to rein in federal power. What is odd to me is how she uses the Brancy blog for some of the specifics...can any of you political science types comment on this? is it to protect her SarahPAC status?

The Convention of the States, as described in the Constitution, is the end-game of the Heritage Foundation and the Koch Brothers.
First they jiggered with gerrymandering, for both the U.S. Congress and state legislatures.
Then they ate from within, winning over the state houses in their gerrymandered states. Now standing at 37 Republican governors.
Then, the genius part, they call for a Convention of the States, to subvert the last 80 years of Washington ideas -- Social Security, the minimum wage, aid to education, voting rights, housing rights, integration, environmental protection, the FDA, the National Institutes of Health -- all the progressive legislation that's created our country as we know it.

This is a dangerous game they're playing. They think that now that they have a 2/3rds majority of state houses, they can peel back the advances of our society so that only the plutocracy will benefit.

They want nothing more than the short-term return on their investments. They care nothing for the citizens of this country, or for the survival of the United States.

They're now drawing the line for an epic battle for the control of our way of life. Sarah said it was "war." It is.

The "Convention of the states" method of amending the Constitution has never been used, and is very unlikely to succeed.

      Read up on Article 5;

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Article_Five_of_the_United_States_Constitution

Bottom line is, even if you can get enough state legislatures together to put forward amendments, it takes 3/4 of the States altogether to approve the new changes.

That seems like an impossible barrier, as at least 1/3 of the states are blue, or at least purple.

Anyone that thinks that Bristol knows anything about this is delusional. That post is probably directed from $arah's cronies, and Nancy French is just posting whatever she's told

It strikes me that $arah is so desperate now to gain a foothold, or move the focus on her screwups, and so she's throwing anything at the wall in an attempt to make it stick.

Even if such a Convention fails, it will take time, effort and money away from what should really be taking place in our country: the care and protection of all of our citizens.
They'll make this into a many-years argument, and deflect attention with their right hand from what their left hand is doing: gutting our country from within.

I'm kind of puzzled at the attention this "new" GOP "concern for the middle class" is getting. Is there anyone here who doesn't get that when they say "we must create opportunities so people can enter the middle class" they just mean the same old trickle-down bullshit they're always pushing?

C'mon, is anyone actually going to be surprised when it's revealed that "creating opportunities" is conserva-code for "tax cuts for the 'job creators'"?

You don't really think the GOP had an epiphany and suddenly get that jobs are created by demand via people having money to spend, not by wealthy benefactors magnanimously creating them out of gratitude for tax breaks?

Republicans are doing it to get votes in 2016! They are not sincere and never have been when it comes to the poor and middle class. Why anyone would vote for a Republican anywhere in the country is beyond me!

Just watch the Republican leaders in the U.S.Congress and see what they are doing! Cutting funds to programs that help folks, etc....i.e. food stamps!

Pay special attention to Republicans John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, etc. Remember too that they are war mongers! Accessing the Bills they pass in the House and Senate are easy to access so you can keep track of what they are doing. President Obama is planning on using his Veto pen as much as possible during this session.

      Vote wisely in 2016!

    Graham over Palin in 2016

U.S. Sen. John McCain on Friday signaled he would back U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina over his former running mate Sarah Palin in the 2016 Republican presidential primaries....

But Palin, a former Alaska governor and McCain's 2008 pick for vice president, on Jan. 23 told the Washington Post she is "seriously interested" in running for president, although a subsequent widely panned speech in Iowa may have already hobbled her chances for a political comeback....

"If Sarah decides to run, I'd certainly wish her well, but, as you know, Lindsey Graham is the person I am most supportive of," McCain told The Arizona Republic. "But I certainly think she would add a lot to the race. She's a very forceful personality....

When someone like Lindsey Graham say's "I'm considering a run for the POTUS" he's thinking about the paid staffers who have done surveys, he has set up a campaign structure, he's feeling out donors and supporters, the RNC is talking to him...

Why people keep on expecting, or reading into, simple Sarah's statements, that there is more "there" there is absolutely hysterical to me.

John McCain stands by Sarah Palin

Washington (CNN)Sen. John McCain says Sarah Palin "still has a strong base of support" if she decides to seek the Republicans' 2016 presidential nomination.

"I think that she ought to do whatever she feels that she would like to do. And I'm very supportive of anything that she does,"
    -John McCain

(John McCain said he is supportive of anything Sarah Palin wants to do. So is John saying he was/is supportive of Sarah loading up her children with alcohol including under drinking age Willow and go looking for a birthday party in another city to disrupt with the start of the first Palin Family Drunken Brawl?)

"he plans to support South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, though, if he runs in 2016."

(So John McCain who knows Sarah Palin best has no faith in Sarah Palin being president. So John why would you pick Sarah Palin to be your vice-president pick in 2008? Sarah would have been an old man's heartbeat away from the presidency and from the nuclear button you old turd!)

"McCain said he hadn't seen the speech, but that it wasn't a disqualifier. "

(So John if you hadn't seen the infamous Sarah Palin 2015 Iowa Bend Your Back speech then what are you talking about? What do you mean it wasn't a disqualifier? That's like saying Bristol was a virgin in junior high without even meeting her.)

"He said Palin could still be an asset for the GOP in 2016, and said he'll "absolutely" have her campaign with him as he seeks re-election in Arizona."

(So John how soon we forget. You don't remember the 2008 Sarah Palin Curse? You deserve to lose your next election! )
