Hillary Rodham Clinton holds double-digit leads over potential Republican challengers Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney as the likely Democratic presidential candidate moves closer to entering the 2016 race, a new Washington Post-ABC News poll finds.
Although Clinton, Bush and Romney are all longtime politicians and members of political dynasties, registered voters are less likely to count that familiarity against Clinton. That is a good sign for Clinton, a failed 2008 presidential candidate and the focus of Republican criticism that her time has come and gone.
Clinton’s potential to make history as the first female U.S. president makes little difference to most voters and is a net positive for others.
And it is not like there is any advertising that is going to reveal anything new about these three either. So there is a good chance that these poll numbers are all but written in stone.
Well GOP, who else ya got?
Until Fox News suspends Sarah Palin like they did the Huckster, she is just another bullshitter looking for attention like Trump.
ReplyDeleteMy dream ticket-Trump/Palin 2016! Do it! Do it! Do it!
DeleteFox already polled their "contributors" and cleaned the outhouse. Huckabee was the only one to say yes.
DeleteAdd Ben Carson to the list whose relationship with Fpx News was ended because of interest in running for the GOP presidential nomination.. Carson was a 'contributor', like Palin; Huckabee had his own show.
DeleteThey are saving their ringer until the 7th inning, don't ya know! Wink, wink. Of course, she will have left in the 4th.
ReplyDeleteI can't see anyone but Bush getting the nomination this year, since Romney is a has been, and the rest of the field is filled with Jihad theocrats, Ayn Rand sycophants, and Koch brother shills.
ReplyDeleteOne person we know isn't running is the Wasilla Witch, she of the fake tits, skin tight pleather pants, and fugly shoe wardrobe disasters.
The Pbots are all in a tizzy predicting every day that Their $arah is the savior. Their disappointment is going to be legendary once again.
On the down side, if Hillary does not run, then the Dems may lose because I don't see a really strong candidate out their, with maybe the exception of Jim Webb, former Governor of Virginia.
It is early, though. I don't think Barack was on anyone's radar this early in 2007. But agreed, I think it will be Hillary. She is refreshed, happy at home, and is handling the few interviews she is doing with maturity and intelligence.
DeleteHmm. Let me see. They want to counter a female Hillary with their own female politician..only better looking. Hmmm...there's Brewer. Martinez (who evidently hasn't even been invited to the Koch shindig.) Haley, who is running her state into the ground. Hm. There must be one woman who was at least a part-time successful Governor, cleans up fairly well, and has that special something (or someone.) Now, who could it be? Must have a servant's heart, love GOP principals even more than her Lord and Savior, have a decent looking family with high morals, no history of drug use, and no arrest record to parade on stage three times: (announcement time, Convention Speech, and Concession Speech in November.) Love of the military. Love of dogs, guns, free speech, and the Bible a must. A best selling author would be a plus. Name recognition. Also must be able to raise large sums of dark money in a hurry.
ReplyDeleteNope, I'm getting nothing. The GOP has NO counter to Hillary. Sanity will reign in the WH another 10 years! But only if we vote!
Now now now, Sally, "seriously considering running in 2016" is THE sign from above their prayers have been answered, and Queen Heifer will wipe the floor with "Killary" WWF-style. Why, at the Freedom Summit this morning in Des Moines, her picture flashed across the lobby screen and there was "audible applause" in the crowd. I guess, down deep, they were expecting booing? Yes, God, YES! It's her time! lmao
DeleteG. Willikers
There is one repub who could make things interesting for Clinton, and that is John Huntsman. The only problem is he isn't a bagger and has a brain. Both are game breakers to bible thumpers!
DeleteOh Huntsman is scary. He is a war-monger of the 1st degree. Alas, he is also Mormon, and the US just doesn't want to be THAT religious.
Delete"Audible applause?" Does that mean she and her family clapped?
DeleteThat's what I was wondering, Sally, what exactly is that? :-)
DeleteG. Willikers
One person can create "audible applause"

In the political world Mitt will always be a bridesmaid, never a bride. Mitt is not, and never will be, Presidential material. He clearly doesn't get the message that we just don't want him and his ever-condescending bride, Ann the Entitled, to live in the White House.
ReplyDeleteRmoney and his bitch of a wife don't get it. Americans twice said no. Now get on with retirement and enjoy life. Your religious calling to be POTUS was a crank call!
DeleteMitt's enormous wealth might always being enough to buy a man entree into an entertainment field, but never enough to confer the likeability and trust to get one into the White House.
DeleteThe amusement is that, like a flesh and blood Montgomery Burns, Mitt is completely blind to this.
I wonder if Queen Ann has tried to sell off any lame horses recently? She tried to cheat a young woman out of $100,000 for a crippled nag that Ann filled full of drugs so he'd appear sound. She is so completely amoral and so haughty with all her talk of "you people". I'd almost like to see Mittens run so I could see Ann lose...again.
DeleteSarah Palin 'seriously interested' in 2016 bid
ReplyDeleteShe’s definitely interested in people thinking she’s interested.
Is Sarah Palin interested in running for president in 2016? It depends on what the definition of “interested” is.
But this much was clear from her appearance here on the eve of the biggest GOP cattle call of the presidential season so far: She’s definitely interested in people thinking she’s interested.
Even if she’s not really that interested.
“Without putting any words in my mouth, you can absolutely say that I’m seriously interested,” said Palin, the 2008 vice presidential nominee, in the lobby of the Marriott late Friday night. But in the same conversation, she appeared to downplay her interest, suggesting she is merely keeping her option open.
“It’s not a major story because 2016 really is still far off,” she said of the Palin-for-president talk. “I think it’s a major story because maybe you guys are bored,” referring to the mainstream media. (Surrounded by national reporters, she resisted referring to them as the “lamestream” media.)
Then, bringing the exchange full meta, she later added, “It’s a significant step, of course, for anyone to publicly announce that they’re interested. … Who wouldn’t be interested? Who wouldn’t be interested when they have been blessed with an opportunity to speak about [issues important to the country.] Who would just ignore an opportunity?”

I'm so confused! Good lord, does she ever speak coherently? And people get upset about this nation becoming bilingual... That is a whole new language! Or perhaps it is the lost language of Babylon?
Delete“Without putting any words in my mouth, "
DeleteSarah, there never has been any words in your mouth. Not real words anyway.

If Sarah Palin were to run I wonder how many debates she'd participate? Would they give her the questions prior to them that she'd demand?
DeleteHow many interviews would she do on national TV on Sunday shows and would they provide her the questions she'd demand knowing prior to the particular show?
I see her as being very controlled/controlling and saying little to the American public so as not to create gaffs as she is already famous! i.e. that photo of her on the streets of New York, the Michael Moor photo, etc. She's a mess.
Plus, the babygate issue would come to light probably more forcefully than the last go around (on the national level), issues with her delinquent kids and drug and alcohol addictions she and her kids currently experience. (proof out there on that too!)
If she did run, it would be a hoot to watch. She wouldn't have John McCain to cover for her! Wonder what he is thinking about her running? Wouldn't it be fun being a member of the McCain household this weekend? They know more about the Palin klan than do many of us! Would the Republican party leak them should she really, really run?
Sarah Palin is a known failure in everything she touches - marriage, parenting, TV reality shows, being quitter gov of Alaska, losing a national campaign, making public appearances, etc.
She's a fraud and joke!
Sure would love to see Elizabeth Warren hum a few bars. Just to see what the numbers do.
ReplyDeleteShe won't. She is far more effective in the Senate with Bernie than wasting her time at rubber chicken dinners for the next 18 months. I'm sure McConnell would love for her to run and get out of his face. She won't. And shouldn't. We are seeing how hard it is for a progressive to get anything done as President. Far better for her to keep up the good fight and win some battles in the Senate.
DeletePlus, Elizabeth Warren would be a terrific 'help mate' sitting in the U.S. Congress to POTUS Hillary Clinton! They'd be a great team for getting things accomplished.
DeleteI don't get the "political dynasties" crap. Bush, yeah. Great-Nephew of a President, Grandson and son of Senators, son and brother of 2 Presidents. So he qualifies. But Hillary is married to a former President and Governor, and Romney's dad was a Governor and Presidential Candidate. IMO, those are not "dynasties." Just needed to say that. Carry on.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
DeleteLast October in Virginia, Mark Warner was showing an easy 9 point lead over Ed Gillespie, but come November 4, Warner won reelection by a thin 17,000 votes.
ReplyDeleteI intend to vote for Clinton, and I'm glad for the comfort zone she has for now over the others, but that comfort zone can foster laziness in supporters come election day figuring, 'she's got it, I can stay home, let somebody else vote.'
The Warner race (and the McAuliffe-Cuccinelli race the year before) taught me no liberal can ever afford to do that.
Hillary and Bill know that better than anyone 7:29 AM! Remember, the two of them are a political machine and have experienced the pros and cons of running for many varied offices. They have more experience in that than any of the Republicans putting their noses out there to run.
DeleteHillary has so much more experience of having worked in government than any of the Republicans do too. (Plus having the First Lady experience!)
She's be a wonderful POTUS and will have my vote and support!

Vincent Harris (political strategist) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vincent_Harris_%28political_strategist%29
Vincent Harris is a very high profile campaign strategist. What is Sarah or SarahPAC up to now?
Palin is in financial trouble. No wonder she's doing all these idiotic appearances and literally begging for attention and $$$!
DeleteRunning for POTUS? My ass! She's not capable, doesn't have the fortitude, education, knowledge or energy to handle the job and she knows it!
She'd have to have someone else run/lead America were she ever to be elected (she won't be - too much garbage!)
Who would she have do the job for her? You folks need to recall that Todd and her Administration had to do it when she was quitter gov of Alaska. Books have been published about that fact and are still available to purchase.
She was missing in action 'on the job' in Juneau and the Alaska Legislature made public knowledge of that fact by having pins made they actually wore on their suit lapels! The pins showed her facial photo and the words 'Where's Sarah?"
If she couldn't handle the job in Alaska, she sure as hell couldn't handle the presidency and that would be brought out massively should she try to run for POTUS! She's a fraud!
Jason Recher has taken Todd's place as Sarah's purse carrier...

Sarah posed for an interesting picture this weekend. Will come back to haunt her. Yessiree. She is presidential all right.
ReplyDeleteI simply can't understand how serious mainstream news organizations can cover her statement about running (or not running or whatever the hell she said) and not address her unfitness for the office. If they are going to cover her like she's a serious candidate, then they need to show her holding up the FU sign, and the show the photo with her middle finger up (when she was coming out of hot yoga) and they need to actually cover the details of the Big Brawl.
DeleteI can see that serious news organizations would skip all that kind of tabloid stuff if they see her as a sideshow. But if so, then don't cover this little strip tease she's doing now, either. All or nothing, people. Either she a candidate and people need to know about her or she's a joke and ought to be ignored. She has always gotten such a pass from the ms media, imo.
...But keep a very close eye on John Kasich

I hope that Hillary Clinton declares at the very last minute possible. They are going to very nasty to her as they have been for the past year (which isn't working according to the polls!) - meaning Republicans.
ReplyDeleteShe will win and I'd so enjoy seeing another eight years of a Democrat in the White House.
Anxious to see who Mrs. Clinton picks as her running mate. So wish it would be Elizabeth Warren, but we all know she's very beneficial with her seat in the current U.S. Congress!
HILL-A-RY! I've had the T-shirt since 2004. I'm there.
ReplyDeleteI just wish certain bloggers would stop criticizing Hillary, thinking that it makes them look smart or discerning. Neither President Bernie Sanders nor President Elizabeth Warren will happen in 2016, so it's time to get over yourselves.
You're the Republicans' best weapon.
What I love the most about all this, is Mrs Clinton hasn't even mentioned an interest in running, and the best they can come up with are a Romney and a Bush.
ReplyDeleteComeon, dammit, drop the "F ck Michael Moore" sign and pick up the "high fives Julianne Moore" sign, or declare you're running. Sarah! All you gotta do is clean up some of the stuff in blue waaaay to the right of the screen =================>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> then reach for the brass ring, the hog testicles, the whore clothes and run. Your country needs a patriot like you with a fine family that made it to finishing school. Run Sarah, Run! cue up "duelling bajoes" and pick Trump for VP. Everyone will be so consumed in laughter at what's on both your heads, no one will pay attention to what comes out your mouths! It's a win win!!!!!!
And over Chris Christie, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Scott Walker......
