According to the January jobs report we have enjoyed the largest three month gain in employment in 17 years. You know this is something the Republicans SHOULD blame on Obama.

"There you go. Now will you call my presidency a success?"
Courtesy of Bloomberg:

The U.S. labor market leaped forward in January, capping the greatest three-month jobs gain in 17 years and delivering the biggest wage increase since 2008.

Payrolls advanced by 257,000 last month following increases in December and November that were even bigger than previously reported, figures from the Labor Department showed Friday in Washington. The unemployment rate rose to 5.7 percent from 5.6 percent as more than a million Americans streamed into the labor force seeking work.

The sustained employment gains are creating a virtuous cycle as Americans spend newfound incomes on goods and services. The growth in jobs will probably help assure Federal Reserve policy makers that the expansion is well-rooted and can withstand an increase in interest rates later this year.

So I guess Obamacare did not turn out to be a job killer?

I was watching Ed Schultz talk yesterday about this report and he asked when are we going to start calling this economic recovery historic.

Well let me be the first (Or second since Schultz did it yesterday.) this recovery is historic.

And I would further claim that it is FAR better than one we could have expected under a President McCain OR a President Romney.

Funny, I was just reading this article on Politico. The R's are saying that Obama has not done enough for the economy. Link below:

    http://www.politico.com/story/2015/02/economy-january-jobs-numbers-obama-boehner-114967.html?hp=b1_l1

So, now you know G. When McConnell tried and failed to take credit for the economy in January, the R's are back to the old tried and true Obama sucks at everything meme.

For the record for all you trolls - Obama has done wonders for the economy. This is especially true when you consider that the R's have tried and often succeeded at blocking his every move. And in spite of their opposition, the man has succeeded.

President Obama is the best President of my lifetime.

Hands down! Mine as well. And I've got 6 decades on this planet. LOTS of presidents and PBO is unquestionably the best. I'm so grateful that I had the chance to experience such an amazing man in the White House.

I can't imagine any other President in recent history who could have managed to save our economy despite all the obstruction he's had to fight against.

It's more proof that the anti-education/anti-intelligence movement on the right is extremely dangerous to our country. I WANT the smartest person in the room to be the President!

I'm another person who believes that President Obama is a great man. Given all that he has had to overcome, the Bush Administration's destruction of the economy, two wars which took a negligible debt and made it enormous, a seditious opposition party in Congress, a SCOTUS ruled by the Koch brothers, it is amazing that he has accomplished so much in just six years. I dread to think that he will be out of office in January 2017. It has been comforting to know that a fine, intelligent and caring leader was sitting in the Oval Office.

US jobs report: much stronger than expected.

Wall Street was expecting to see 230,000 jobs added, but the US economy over-delivered with 257,000 new non-farm jobs (pdf) in January, and significant upward revisions to figures for November and December. Unemployment, however, crept up to 5.7% from 5.6%. Average hourly earnings also jumped 0.5% sequentially—the biggest jump since November 2008—and 2.2% year over year.

Hopefully the SarahPAC funds dry up soon. It's time for them to get jobs and stop sucking off the PAC titty.

Bill Maher ended his show tonight finally talking about Sarah Palin‘s rambling Iowa speech that was the final straw for many Republicans and conservatives. But Maher had just one question for them: “What took you so long?!”

Maher mocked the revelation as an “emperor has no clues” situation and asked Republicans why they took so long, saying, “The rest of us have been watching this dog eat grass for seven years!”

Real Time host Bill Maher said on Friday that he was impressed by how many conservative commentators were distancing themselves from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) following her infamous speech in Iowa.

“It was as if the scales fell from their eyes and they were finally able to admit, the emperor has no clues,” Maher said. They called her speech ‘incoherent,’ ‘a farce,’ ‘unseemly’ — words that might have stung Sarah if she knew what they meant.”

However, he insisted he was not gloating.

“We’re just here to say, didn’t that feel good to purge yourself of something that wasn’t sitting well in your gut?” he said. “It’s like when you’re sick and you make yourself throw up — you feel better afterwards. I just have one question: what took you so long? The rest of us have been watching this dog eat grass for seven years.”

Absolutely loved what Bill Maher said last night about Sarah Palin. He has always been anti Palin! Remember when she threatened to sue him years ago? She actually tried to shut him up and he basically told her to fuck off! He knew she had nothing in which to go after him!

He's called her bluff every step of the way and THANK YOU, Bill Maher!!!

It just took the idiot Republicans and their national party years to admit their cover up! i.e. McCain, Steve Schmidt, the gal on The View (cannot remember her name to save my soul!), etc.

Sarah Palin became the subject of ridicule from the left because she opened her mouth to offer her down-home, folksy, jingoistic, nativist, and xenophobic opinion. She became the subject of attacks from the GOP power brokers because it finally dawned on them that the only political brand Sarah Palin was interested in marketing was Sarah Palin.

She began to believe she was a phenomenon of her own making, just as the tea baggers believed they were a grass roots movement.

Sarah Palin was never a politician to be taken seriously, just as William Hung was never a singer to be taken seriously, despite all the ironic fame he enjoyed for a brief moment. Sarah Palin was launched out of a political PR canon and glided, surprisingly, for a lot longer than she should have, but mostly because right-wingers, terrified of ever admitting a mistake, kept blowing hot air up at her to keep her aloft.

She still has fans because there are people who thoroughly enjoy being talked down to by a nincompoop with an overabundance of self-confidence and a shocking deficit of intellect.

I was told by a Palin supporter that supporting raising the minimum wage and supporting unions proves that I am a commie who hates America and wants to destroy it.
I was reading a blog on American Thinker (keep your enemy close) this morning. It was about a black woman killing a white neighbor with a crockpot, after arguing over politics.
Three things occurred to me; If the deceased woman was a Palin supported, I would acquit. After reading the comments posted, I can relate to the attacker's rage. It is a good thing I don't own a crock pot!

I'd want proof that the Amer. Thinker story was correct. For one thing, it sounds rather unlikely. For another, the Amer. Thinker just gave Sarah Palin a huge "thumbs up." That, in itself, would make we question any thing stated as fact on that site.

Along with job growth will be an increase in government revenue through taxes, both on the federal and state levels.

So be prepared for the 37 Republican governors who will benefit from these newfound funds to trumpet something about their "success" with their trickle-down policies.

WRONG, 7:41! THIS is what the article said: "The unemployment rate rose to 5.7 percent from 5.6 percent as more than a million Americans streamed into the labor force seeking work."

That is what happens when the long term unemployed see a better prospect of employment. They get back into the market. THAT raises the unemployment statistics - temporarily!

Yes, except the way you say it leaves out the qualifier which EXPLAINS why there is a rise in unemployment.

Deliberately trying to mislead by any means is lying. Plain and simple. Half truths are vicious because they SOUND reasonable. Yours is a half truth.

Oh, and it doesn't always mean what you are saying, just in this case, because people see hope glowing in the distance.

Actually, as President, McCain would have us on almost full employment. By now he would have started wars with several dozen countries, which would require millions of fighters, and he would have increased the defense budget so much to produce weapons. Of course, he would require all workers other than management to work for $2.00 an hour with no benefits, but still, we would be employed!

President Obama Swats Down Empty Republican Criticisms Of The Economy

President Obama swatted down the meager Republican criticisms of the growing economy by pointing out the big economic achievements of his administration since he took office.

In this week’s address, President Obama highlighted the progress our economy has made, with more than 3.1 million jobs created in 2014 – the best year for job growth since the late 1990s. America has come a long way, and with the right policies, we can continue to grow our economy into one where those who work hard can get ahead.

That’s why earlier this week the President released a budget proposal focused on middle-class economics – the idea that this country does best when everyone gets their fair shot, does their fair share, and plays by the same set of rules. The President said he looks forward to working with anyone, Republican or Democrat, who is willing to fight for commonsense policies that will help the middle class succeed.

Healthy economy forces Republicans to rethink Obama-skewering strategy

A robust economy marked by a boom in jobs and a plunge in gas prices is threatening the longtime Republican strategy of criticizing President Obama for holding back growth and hiring, forcing the GOP to overhaul its messaging at the beginnings of a presidential campaign.
