So in the above video, if you go to the 10:57, Meyers describes the suicide attempt:
"I was going down, and I was drinking probably a bottle, to a bottle and half of Crown a day. Just living my life that way. I didn't care about anything. I felt like I was becoming a burden on everybody else. I just pulled my car over one day and I was like 'You know what I'm done. I'm done.' I always keep a gun in my vehicle, and I always keep my guns loaded, all of them are always loaded, so I don't have to worry about it. And you know I pulled the gun out, put it to my head, and squeezed the trigger and it went 'click.'"
Meyer goes on to claim that somebody must have unloaded his gun the day before, which is the only thing that saved him.
He goes on to claim that he made a deal with himself that if he did not try it again in that car, and drove away instead, that he would never do it again. (And of course as we know we simply never break deals we make with ourselves.)
I have to say that if Meyer is accurate as to how quickly he pulled the gun, placed it to his head, and pulled the trigger, that indicates that he was serious and did not even stop to question his actions until AFTER the gun failed to fire.
That gives every indication of a person who is a serious suicide risk and requires a serious invention.
However it appears that he did not get that intervention.
At the 12:26 mark the female host, Cristina Ferrare, straight out asks Meyer if he received any psychiatric help or counseling after the suicide attempt or is receiving any now:
" No, no I don't. You know I don't ahh. When they sent me back fro Afghanistan I was sent to a PTSD rehab center for precautionary measures. Um I was in there and..uh..you know it gave me knowledge on it, but I've never seeked (sic) help."
Okay first off if he was sent to a PTSD rehab center then there was very likely something in his psychological profile which suggested that he needed counseling. And of course the suicide attempt essentially proves that.
Secondly surviving one attempt at suicide, in no way inoculates you from future attempts. It's not like catching the measles.
Thirdly if there was significant alcohol use back when he made that first attempt, and there has been no counseling of any kind, then it is quite likely that alcohol may still play a significant role in his life.
And fourthly he is about to marry a Palin!
I'm sorry but if you were not prone to alcoholism or suicide before......
Okay all that I'm saying is that there are so many red flags here that I can barely see past them.
In my opinion if Sarah were serious about putting her children first, and not simply using them to attract favorable publicity, she would be counseling Bristol to slow down and plan on a long engagement instead of rushing to the altar.
I agree they should extend their engagement to at least a year to get to know each other, and to get to know each one’s demons.
ReplyDeleteTrue, but this is about Sarah Palin's motives. In her world what they are doing is probably all they can do.
DeleteI agree. It seems like they have just spent a couple weekends together. They really need to live in the same state for awhile and date.
DeleteA bun is in the oven for a max of nine months. For some people an engagement lasting at least a year is an invitation to bastardy.
DeleteAnonymous 5:33 PM, she already has one, maybe two or three. What's another one to a revirginized promiscuous puppet?
DeleteLol...ok then why did the State of Alaska sell off 4 billion in stocks today? Sarah will be getting a notice from the courts soon...this 'marriage' is a charade for the crimes just committed...Betcha soldier boy doesn't know about that...Unless he participated in it...those are felonies ya'll did...
DeleteAm I reading the Rawstory post below correctly?
ReplyDeleteThe oldest daughter of the governor of Alaska, the oldest daughter of the Republican Party vice president nominee is engaged to a man she barely knows?
This is Sarah Palin's daughter's 3rd engagement and she also recently had announced she had a trial husband and his name was Gino. So if I understand this correctly, Bristol has had 3 engagements and a trial husband. On top of that, Sarah Palin's daughter was just recently involved with a guy she said she was was seriously involved and in love with and his name was Joey Junker.
So Sarah Palin what kind of mother are you? You raised a daughter who would accept a wedding engagement from a ham sandwich!
Rawstory:
In a blog post announcing the engagement, Bristol Palin wrote that “[h]e met Tripp during that time, and I’ve seen him in a few places where our paths have crossed since. He’s visited us in Alaska, and I’ve visited his wonderful family in Kentucky. He’s wonderful with Tripp and I’m so proud to be marrying him.”
OK.....ham sandwich! I'm still laughing!!
DeleteYup, and Mommy Dearest bought the ring..how creepy is that?
DeleteAll of Bristol's trial spouses have been "wonderful" with Tripp. That poor child must be very confused.
DeleteBeaglemom
Pedophiles can be wonderful with kids. Even when parents get to know them for a long time, they can appear as wonderful with kids.
DeleteUm I was in there and..uh..you know it gave me knowledge on it, but I've never seeked (sic) help."
ReplyDeleteFor Dakota's information, it's all over the internet. He has facebook, twitter and instagram accounts, so he knows how to use a computer. He regularly gives speeches where he claims that he "raises awareness," while he seems to be unaware the serious issues and treatment for PTSD, given that he "got the knowledge" and didn't seem to do anything about it. Drinking? There are photos of Dakota and his buddies drinking at a night club in Vegas when he got engaged. He has not dealt with his drinking problem. If there is a problem, the solution is not to drink. He drinks. All he needs is some kind of stress to push him over the edge, and having Sarah Palin as a mother-in-law looks like a recipe for disaster. Bristol will have to go around making sure that the guns are unloaded and locked up, especially since she has a 6 year old kid who, by her own definition, is spoiled rotten.
If you look at this and scroll over Dakota Meyer's body, he has for Dakota "The Next United States President"
Deletewith The Next United States President.

Silly guy.
He is childlike at best. Kind of dull and programmable like Bristol. Not a good idea they not know each other. Also, too, she needs to be as far away from her toxic family for about a year. She might be able to grow some strength and back bone. But it will never happen if she can't break away and work on being an individual and an adult.
DeleteSeriously, going cold turkey from the toxic people is a necessity.
Right. We are SO likely to vote for a barely educated, PTSD, drunken fool who promises what? Guns in every nook and cranny of our lives? No thanks. And marrying Brissy won't win you any fans either. If possible, she is even more 'entitled' than Queen Ann.
DeleteEven if he has ptsd from combat, I think he was whupped upside the head as a kid by his pappy. He's got a few simple rules that were literally knocked into him, and that's about it as far as his life skills go.
DeleteBelieve me when I say there is no question he’s an alcoholic if he drank as much as he said, 1 to1.5 bottles a day. I have been trained in alcoholism and naturally a lot of alcohol to consume by anybodies standard.
DeleteBut it’s not just how much he consumed alcohol at one time, it’s that he’s still drinking after that and is obviously using it to self medicate himself. Whether he’s self medicating because of PTSD or something else, he still has a serious problem.
The other part of that is how much alcohol it sounds like Bristol drinks as well. They’ll probably be blissfully happy being under the influence during the early part of their marriage, but sooner or later domestic violence or depression can take its toll.
What I worry most about is Bristol wanting to get pregnant while she’s drinking that could results in a FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome) child. Bristol is also immature for her age and as I understand it not very bright.
Truthfully, the odds don’t look good for these two in remaining married for long. I’ll give them 1-2 years before it crumbles. What will be interesting will be the explanation Sarah gives for them breaking up and for Bristol returning home for long stretches of time.
Plus, NO ONE, unless they are a billionaire, can drink like that and have all those other problems without also getting themselves into very deep financial hot water. It follows like night follows day. Alcoholism and financial discipline are polar opposites.
DeleteI can double dog guarantee you that this is a VERY calculated move that has little to do with love, and the instigator is $arah Louse Heath Palin.
ReplyDeleteJust realized my typo.
DeleteNo apologies...... :)
Louse? how Freudian!
DeleteAnon @ 2:55 & 3:19 P.M. - it is not a typo, but a fuckin' apt description for the named instigator! "Louse" - spot-on!!
DeleteYou just came up with a new nickname for Sarah the Queen of Derp.
DeleteI love it!
Gryphon----please forward your above posting to Levi. He needs all the ammo he can amass to save his son.
ReplyDeletePLEASE, Gryphon!!
DeleteWhy don't YOU just post the link on Levi's or Sunny's facebook pages?
DeleteMay I add
ReplyDeleteFifthly - If he always keeps his guns loaded, and this one was not loaded, where did he or someone else discharge said missing bullets? Either Dakota shot the gun and didn't remember doing it (alcohol) or the gun was not kept away from others (alcohol). Either way, something is very, very wrong with this guy and/or his stories.
As dear Tri-G would say - BULLSHIT!
JJ
Trig can sure say it, can't he? And Tripp says 'faggot' and all the Palins just laugh and laugh. Disgusting bunch of hillbillies. Dakota is a walking time bomb. I wouldn't want my daughter or grandson around him unless he took getting some psychological help seriously.
DeleteI wouldn't want my family around him ever. A good high school friend found his post-Nam brother after he had shot himself in the head a few months after returning. My friend still has nightmares about that. What if Tripp is in the home when this moron kills himself? What if he takes out Bristol and Tripp first?
DeleteI’m confused, what did he do to earn the Medal of Honor? He went to save his buddies, but they were already dead. Did he get it for just pulling out his dead buddies that could have been done later when more troops arrived.
ReplyDeleteI've heard there's a lot more to the story. Just like with the lies that initially came out about Pat Tillman and Jessica Lynch - there's more to this than the public really knows.
DeleteSome people say that story is also not true facts. I don't know the details. It seems he claimed to see people that were not there. Other troops did not see his imaginary/lie? people. There was film, and those people were not there.
DeleteHe got the medal for his version and it seems it was not what happened.
Some people think he did brave things anyway and deserves the medal. Others do not agree.
He left 4 to die and one did live several weeks before dying. His wife has "issues" with Dakota. I think he has "Survivors guilt" not PTSD. And this will not end well. Well if Bristol is married she may be a rich widow and celetard MOH widow wife and go around griftin' on his name.
Delete"Survivors guilt"
DeleteI considered that. It is more plausible.
Do you think Sarah has already purchased an insurance policy? I don't see Chuck or Todd over looking something like that. They may have been able to get Dakota to pay for it. Would it go into a trust that they would control?
Here's details of how he got the MOH
Deletehttp://www.mcclatchydc.com/2013/10/14/205341/videos-contradict-medal-of-honor.html
I wish them the best. I just hope Bristol is not bringing Tripp into a bad situation. Bristol if your mother is in love with the Medal Of Honor winner then let your mother marry him. You do what you have to do but think about Tripp. Let Levi raise Tripp while you hastily run off to Kentucky.
ReplyDeleteI don't like liars or frauds and I won't waste my time wishing some cons the best.
DeleteThey have to prove themselves. Bristol has repeatedly proved she is a horrible mother. So I can't wish Tripp the best with her married some guy like this. I wish they all get proper and valuable help.
Anonymous3:50 PM
DeleteI don't like liars or frauds and I won't waste my time wishing some cons the best.
****
Exactly! both of them Grifters and liars & fraud. It is the Fairytale TROLL who INSISTS we "Wish them the best"... WHY the fuck do we care?
We only care about Tripp that he gets the fuck away from his awful mother.
You of all people should know Sarah is a narcissist and does not care about any human being beyond herself. She could care less if Meyers is stable or not, she is using her child, grandchild to shore up her PAC donations. And Meyers, who doesn't care enough about himself to get help after a suicide attempt, doesn't care either. He's too busy thinking if he ties up with the Palins( even if that means Fing the easy one) he can be President in 10 yrs. He isn't smart enough to know he's not sart enough to be President.
ReplyDeleteExactly. Anyone who hadn't 'seemed' help for a mental problem? That is worse than Bush and Sarah's 'nucular.'
DeleteAccording to Meyer, President Obama gave him some advice regarding getting an education on the day he awarded him the MOH. Meyer stupidly smirked about it while on Letterman, as if he knows better than President Obama how to be successful. I don't think the American people are going to put him in the White House without a college education although Sarah might think it's possible since we all know how she feels about education. It's certainly not something discussed in the Palin family. Hell, Bristol hasn't worked for the last two years since according to court records she made a grand total of $0. in 2013 and 2014. How do you quit a job you weren't going to, Bristol?
DeleteHonestly he doesn't seem like a bad guy at all. It would be smart for him to seek help, but I think you're giving him way too hard of a time. I think he is way out of Bristol's league whether he has ptsd or not and can't figure out what a war hero is doing with a superficial brain dead Bristol Palin. What do they even talk about when they're together? He recalls his heartbreaking experiences in Afghanistan and she tells him about her manicure and new louie vuitton?
ReplyDeleteCome on. The man has PTSD and admits that he is never without a loaded gun? And she has a young son who thinks guns are fun? This is a tragedy waiting to happen.
DeleteHis FUC_YOU MICHAEL MOORE (with cross hairs) that he held with Sarah in Vegas and proudly tweeted out made my opinion of him drop to Palin level. He conducted himself heroically in war, and received acknowledgement, but that does not automatically make him a hero in life.
DeleteHe may also have TBI. That may be worse than his PTSD matter.
DeleteHow can he help other vets if he is so needy?
lt is like he was going to work some steps and instead of going step 1, step 2, step 3 and so on he is jumping ahead.
He is not smart. If you are at the point where you attempt suicide, you go find some help. You certainly don't agree to marry someone and be a step father to a little kid if you aren't damned sure you have your psychiatric/emotional problems under control.
DeleteHe's not smart and he's not bright and he's not education and has no plans to become any of those things any time soon.
*"educated," not "education," obviously
DeleteAnonymous3:03 PM
DeleteHonestly he doesn't seem like a bad guy at all

HONESTLY Concern troll STFU I'm sick of you shitting up the comments with your fucking concern.
Shove it.
@6:41. Wow. "STFU"..? Are you 12?
DeleteI'm 100% with you 3:48. It was the exact moment for me too. Conduct very-unbecoming, I might say. Add to this Palin's lie about him being some random guy in the crowd. Don't recall him correcting that little fib. A couple weeks later the widely publicized engagement to 'her' daughter should have made more than a few people go, huh? Honorable? Honest? Hero? Puh-leeze.
DeleteThese two, or three counting mama, deserve each other. Please proceed, fame whores.
Probably what they have in common is what Sarah has convinced that together they can do....a future in politics and if that fails books, reality tv shows, etc.
DeleteI agree with you, Anon at 3:48 pm. It seems to me that someone who is really troubled by his/her military experiences would be highly unlikely to pose so gleefully with a poster containing cross-hairs. I think this guy is an opportunistic phony, perfect for the Palins, but not for the rest of us. The vast majority of soldiers who come home from war take up their lives as best they can and move on.
DeleteBeaglemom
I have a smart, successful unmarried 30 yr old daughter. She's been dating a nice young man for the past 2 months. If she told me she was engaged to him, I'd wonder where the hell her common sense had disappeared to. I'd advise her to have a long engagement, and yes, I'd suggest she lived with him first. In my opinion, you shouldn't rush into a marriage. What's the big hurry? If you love one another take the time to make sure you actually LIKE the other person before you marry them!
ReplyDeleteWise comment. Not only did Dakota and Bristol become engaged after a few meetings, they are rushing into a marriage within 2 months. Bristol claimed that she hasn't lived in her house since the stalker showed up in the driveway, but all of a sudden, the house is on the market, too. She could have sold it when she moved out last year.
DeleteMakes you wonder what else is going on. When was the last time that Palin was on Fox? (Answer: a long long time ago). She doesn't seem to have any speeches or appearances coming up. This looks like Sarah's new project. What else does she have? Oh, Dakota, we'll talk to veterans groups OK?
Words to live by!I tell my 21 year old daughter the same thing )
DeleteI think it was whenever she tried to chew Billo out, that was a long time ago...
DeleteHer channel released a vet themed video today.
DeleteJust from observation his recent photos don't show him drinking or intoxicated so perhaps he's on a "pause" from the booze and trying to moderate that intake. I wish him success in kicking the habit but it has to be hard to live with yourself after murdering a bunch of innocent women and children. He may never be able to overcome that, even with the best shrinks that money can buy.
ReplyDeleteA dry drunk can be unbearable. If he is saving up angst while covering with any delusions it is going to explode/implode.
DeleteSomeone may tell him just take anti-anxiety med. He may drink Monster or Red Bull or whatever. There are many ways to self medicate. Bristol also needs her own substance abuse treatment.
I sounds like he's claiming to have kicked alcohol abuse, PTSD, and suicidal ideation all by himself. No way.
DeleteLiar troll! A shot from the otherday showed him with a drink in his hand.
DeleteBoth of them drink like fish.
Shut up.
Go spew you bs somewhere where people don't know you are sick to death of your extreme palin ass kissing.
Do you have Bristols ass tattooed to your lips?
Wait til he has to put up with Bristol's whining. That would probably push any guy over the edge.
ReplyDelete2:42 Ham sandwich is hilarious!
Didn't Sarah Palin mention that Track councils guys with PTSD? Sarah was that all bullshit just like you are America's energy expert and like the times you mentioned you are running for president? Shit or get off the pot. Send in Track. Where is Track?
ReplyDeleteTrack doesn't counsel anyone.
DeleteMore Palin bullsh*t.
Why would anyone let a druggie degenerate "council" their loved one on something as serious as PTSD. Same goes for Dakota. What training/experience does he have to think he can "help" people with PTDS? ....ohhhh....may as well add Chris Kyle in there too.
DeleteI spelled counsel wrong - forgive me.
DeleteThat bullshit is hurting families and those with the problems that people like the Palins are bullshitting.
DeleteNot good. Not good ending. Just a lot more bullshit and harm.
Track Menard is not capable of counseling anyone of anything. He should be in rehab for meth. That's just another Sarah myth she wants the public to believe.
Deleteyea he could counsel them alright...get your name on the Leger dude...they will deliver your drugs man..
Deletekeep pappa daddy's meth labs burning...
A person needs education to be a Drug/Alcohol counsellor. Trick/Track has none, nor does Dakota. They both need help.
DeleteHe's just so dumb. Geographically, I'm pretty sure that he didn't even realize where Afghanistan was before he had to go there and I'd doubt even now he could find it on a globe, much less the Ganjal valley where he became "famous". Wow, poor kid, just a stupid guy that enlisted and was chosen to be the recruiter's poster child for poor, educationally lacking kids all across this country. I cannot imagine what Simple Simon and Simple Barstool talk about! Could you just imagine being a fly on the wall for one of their conversations? I mean, not to make fun of stupid people but really, I hardly doubt they can even put together a legible grocery list, between the two of them!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I loved that he hadn't 'seemed' counseling. He must have taken the same English class as Sarah.
Delete3:36 PM He said, "seeked" which should have been sought.
DeleteC'mon, give the fuckin' guy a break.
DeleteAnyone who marries into the palin family needs one.
I'm sure Bristle will straighten him out.
Just wait until she starts punching him out after a few wine coolers.
Now that i think about it, they are very much alike.
That will be a problem.
They talk about how they can make a difference, become famous and rich and powerful when he becomes president and Bristol is the first lady! Of course Sarah is putting these notions in their heads.
Delete945 again we got illusions of grandeur taking place...
Deleteor we got a copy cat going on...I noticed that obsession with royalty the Palins got going on...
In some ways (and I can't believe I'm saying this, because it's impossible to get that Michael Moore sign out of my mind, plus the photo of him holding the baby next to the gun on the table), from what I've read about his history, Dakota Meyer also has some very admirable qualities.
ReplyDeleteHe is a right wing tool now, in both senses of the word, but he exhibited maturity and compassion toward others prior to that.
Plus, he's a MOH winner, and even if the Marine Corps fudged some of the facts, Meyer still exhibited great heroism. He's also industrious and ambitious.
So this is an individual who is far, far above the lazy, unmotivated, ignorant, selfish, and self-absorbed Bristol Palin in every way, as imperfect as he himself may be. He's been through the wringer, and he deserves someone who will look out for his welfare. I can't see someone as shallow and vain as Bristol being that person.
I have good reason to know, having lost a close family member to it, that one suicide attempt often leads to another. So I really really really hope for both Dakota's and Bristol's sake (and I say this as someone who loathes her... but I don't wish her harm) that this marriage doesn't happen, at least not until they have had a long engagement and both had extensive counseling.
Thank you for this post, I agree. I lost a cousin to suicide in February, and it is no laughing matter. There;s something about this whole set-up that just doesn't sit right with me.
DeleteOh please. There is nothing admirable about him. And frankly, anyone who would willingly put a young child in the company of an ex-soldier who admits that he has 'lots of guns, always loaded,' should be locked up herself. She is asking for her son to be shot, or herself. Or, gee, maybe be a witness to a drunken rage leading to suicide? Bristol hasn't shown the ability or common sense to raise a child, let alone be a therapist/wife/mother to a man with psychological problems.
DeleteMeyer might be ambitious but he's lacking in education and experience to do much anything. Grifting off your Medal of Honor is pitiful.
DeleteBeaglemom
It wasn't the military that lied about his "bravery" he himself lied about it in his book and in subsequent interviews. Not a hero, just chosen for the MOH to motivate other poor and uneducated kids to choose the military over college; to choose leaving their body parts in the desert instead of getting an education. He's a liar.
DeleteAdmirable? Lying to get a medal he didn't deserve isn't admiral.
DeleteThis is not going to end well.
ReplyDeleteBristol has also been close to several people that had successful suicide attempts. She and her new hubby will be doing many fundraisers and speeches to bring attention to the issues of attempting and succeeding.
ReplyDeleteJust another "grifting" ploy. It's a lot like Monica Lewinsky and her work for cyberbullying. Don't any of these people think they need to do actual work to make a living and support their families?
DeleteSince there were no witnesses to Dakota Meyer's suicide attempt, can anyone be sure that it happened? If it did, he should have sought some form of treatment. Getting paid to make speeches about suicides (real or imagined) is not legitimate work unless the person has had substantial training. Look where Chris Kyle's brand of PTSD therapy got him. Besides, I would never in a million years think that Bristol Palin had anything worthwhile to say about anything. She's as phony as her mother.
Beaglemom
Bristol tends to bring out the suicidal tendencies in people. Like, when you have to sit with her and like do some selfies and then like talk about your hair and nail color and then like have a meal and then barf it up and then like "OMG where's my kid" and like oh, there he is like swimming in the lake with like his dog and stuff and that's okay, like right, and oh BTW did you see my purse and like my shoes and wow did you ever think about what makes the wind blow and how clouds come into the sky and such and then my hair is too short and like what about extensions do you think I should have Willow do them and should they be the same color as my eyebrows or my nails?"
DeleteThat's when eating a gun becomes a better option than listening to one more vacuous word from this bitch's mouth. I heard that Levi still has scars on his arm after he tried to chew it off when she fell asleep on it one time. He escaped, others will not be so lucky.
What's Dakota Meyer going to do, counsel people who attempt suicide to go get help when he, himself, didn't?
DeleteAnd, wow, Bristol's is "CLOSE to SEVERAL" people who have killed themselves? That's very disturbing.
3:49 you do have a talent for vacuousness.
Delete"
DeleteBristol has also been close to several people that had successful suicide attempts. "
Does that include the ones that "suicided" right before they were to go to trial?
Yes, another dear and close friend of the Heath/Palins, Kristan Sapp Cole. She is in Real Estate and her sil or someone in family is Bristol's agent. remember at one time wanted to be in real estate? The Sapp Cole's were in the Trig baby shower photos and it goes on and on how all of them are close. Including the Tanners and other marriges and family.
DeleteBristol's real estate agent's brother commited suicide.
Sapp Cole has a non-profit business deal with a Revenend. With God they are saving, curing or what have you Wasilla and Arizona's lost teens and addicts from their demons.
They get baptized in a tub of water, she is proud to post the photo of her son. Also close to the Palin family.
I don't know how much they charge but I would think that Dakota and Bristol can get a bargain rate. Like a twofer.

It is a mystery. Some say it was a suicide. No idea what drove her to that, she had a son she loved, would she have left him in that manner?
Had she been disfigured by an inept doctor? Or had she been one of the girls, like Marina, and could no longer handle the sex abuse. She had known the man for 15 years. It may have started young.
There are many possibilities.
What we are told is that it was tragic.
Since there were no witnesses to Dakota Meyer's suicide attempt, can anyone be sure that it happened?
Delete-----------------
My thoughts exactly, how do we know this isn't another embellished story for the media.
Who unloaded his gun, he wasn't concerned that someone had access to his guns? Or is he implying it was God/Jesus that unloaded the gun.
He has already fabricated a story for his "heroic" acts in Afghanistan, lets see what else he comes up with.
Who hasn't lost people in their lives? My 3 kids lost an extraordinary amount of friends to suicide. Who doesn't know people that dropped out of high school and got pregnant. Just like her abstinence speeches it would just be another opportunity to grift. But yeah, who's gonna pay her for that??
Delete3;49 Like, AWESOME. The oonly thing you left out was the F word, which Bristles includes in every sentence. These two make a terrific couple. Made for each other. Were any of the people "Bristol was close to several people who committed suicide" trial husbands, or daddies? They chose the "easy way out" rather than marry into that gawd awful family.
DeleteSuccessfully suicided maybe.
DeleteSomething is strange with Chuck's post about having Dakota meet his kids on his facebook on March 8th.
ReplyDeleteThe tablecloth is a Christmas pattern and the bottom picture if you look closely shows Christmas lights strung on the porch.
Unless, they are still celebrating the holiday in March!

DeletePeople leave their holiday lights up here until late spring, and sometimes year round so they don't have to do them each year. Depends on the neighborhood. I can't have lights up after March 1 in my neighborhood but where Chuck and Sally live is an old subdivision that doesn't seem to have covenants, hence the giant pile of bones and antlers in their front yard.
I can imagine them having that old checked tablecloth on their table year round; their house is rather "rustic" both inside and out and that's putting it nicely!
Hey, my Solstice tree decorates my living room year round.

Regularly she can't wait to post pictures of her stud, love bug Tripp with whoever it is (Gino, Joey). Dakota?
She posted the one picture of the 3 of them and there was Bristol with Tripp and what may have been part of Dakota's arm. That was it.
I would have thought Dakota would have posted something about Tripp since he is important and Tripp's whole life as he's known it will never be the same. Getting to know his mother's new favorite boy is important.
Chuck Jr. did not post Tripp if he was at that gathering.
In the clip duhkota says he makes quick decisions, uh yeah. Getting engaged after 2 months is rash
ReplyDeleteA guy with PTSD and a nearly successful suicide attempt who is about to have a new wife and stepson says he makes quick decisions? What could go wrong?
DeleteThe Veteran's Administration treatment(s) for PTSD isn't always effective (as my family knows) and private treatment is expensive and iffy at best.
ReplyDeleteNot seeking treatment isn't always so much denial as it is accepting the reality that treatment isn't practical.
There's a thing called the "Affordable Care Act" now and most people qualify for it, except for those who make too little money and live in Red States whose Governors did not accept the Medicaid Expansion funds, but for those that live in states that did, ANYONE, regardless of income can be covered, either thru the ACA or thru Medicaid. Funnily enough Medicaid will provide free mental health counseling and treatment if a person is in the lowest income level, regardless of Medicaid expansion. It is worth checking into. There was a woman in our neighborhood that lost her job and income due to a pill addiction and Medicaid paid for an inpatient treatment program for her.
DeleteThere's a huge stigma surrounding mental health issues in military families. They're supposed to tough things out, not seem weak, but they end up with domestic violence, child abuse, and suicide.
Delete@3:38
DeleteThe VA is free if you can coerce them into actually treating your PTSD. But the VA's goal is to dump you out the door as soon as possible. The Affordable Care Act lets you struggle to find the right combination of doctors, drugs, therapy that will alleviate the symptoms. Non-VA docs have less experience with combat PTSD. It's patchwork care at best.
Oh, and by the way, try getting treatment for having grown up with a PTSD dad. The VA doesn't care and non-VA doctors are simply not interested.
I disagree, my husband got excellent care through the VA. Most likely your state is worse, maybe it's time to move to get the care?
Delete@3:38
DeleteIsn't that what vets like Dakota Meyer and Chris Kyle do? Make people, including Republicans aware of what happens to these troops when they get home. WAsn't it claimed that the money maker 'American Sniper' was to open people's eyes with the Eastwood 'character study'?
Aren't the many non-profits and charities doing what they claim to help?
Meyer says he wants to run for office and help people. What specifically does he mean?
Why would he be any where near someone like a Palin who has mumbling jumbling made statements about where they stand and what they want done. She has a record of not helping people. Some end up dead or in prison.
Palin's main purpose is to undermine a good leader.
Who in their right mind aligns with her?
Since he makes that choice that says all we need to know about him.
@5:04
DeleteSeriously? Quit your job, up root your family and move to different VA region on the off chance that VA might be a less indifferent. Seriously? That's your answer? Wow! I am stunned.
What about those who can't move, 5:04 PM? Benefits are cut and cut again for them, yet millions more for the war chest. Why anyone would vote Republican is beyond me, and MOH Dakota found his cash COWS in the Heath/Palins.
DeleteYeah, I'll f*ck her for money and prominence. You GO, Dakota.
"Not seeking treatment isn't always so much denial as it is accepting the reality that treatment isn't practical."
DeleteAnd you think that's why Dakota Meyer didn't seek treatment?
@5:57
DeleteOf course, it's possible even Dakota Meyer doesn't know why he doesn't get treatment (if that's actually what happened). More importantly, the key word in PTSD is "post", that is, the symptoms go on for a loooonnnnggg time. How does 1945-2006 sound? Once Dakota Meyer is in the 2nd half century of dealing with his condition, he will probably have a more realistic comprehension of the disorder. Right now, he is very young and he may be thinking that this is something he can handle on his own.
I wish him luck.
While many vets do have trouble getting help. Lots get good help.
DeleteNo doubt in my mind that Dakota would get anything he wants from the VA or other doctors who themselves are vets.
Or some "patron" would be happy to use their own money to cover his expenses at a private facility if needed.
That's one of his unofficial fringe benefits--lots of people will happily take him places, and do things for him just because of Meyer's MOH.
If you don't try it, you don't know if it will work for you or not. Refusing treatment, or denying that you need treatment is just a lame excuse. If you want help, you have to put some effort into your own recovery. People do not wave a magic wand over you. You have to want to deal with painful issues, which is not easy. But some treatment is better than no treatment at all.
DeleteThey're not waiting. Bristol posted a picture of herself in Mommy Dearest's kitchen and she hashtagged it #wedding planning #2months. They're continuing to fast track this relationship for some reason. IMHO this is a disaster waiting to happen.

DeleteThat was Track's unit? Sarah was Commander in Chief?
Bizarro.
A soldier from Alaska wrote his governor for help. Jeremy Morlock knew Gov Sarah Palin and her family. Maybe if Track's friend was a Medal of Honor winner then maybe Sarah would have helped him and maybe Bristol would have been married to him? Instead Jeremy Morlock is sentenced to 24 years in prison?
ReplyDeleteThis was the response Track's good friend, and son of Todd's schoolmate received from the Governor's office.

Thank you for writing to Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. The concerns, opinions, and/orinformation you have sent are important and valuable to the Governor. Although she is unable to respond to each and every email herself, your message has been received and is being reviewed by the appropriate staff person in this office who can best address your need, suggestion, or comment.
Dakota has a far worse sentence than Morelock.
DeleteThe freeze from the August 24, 2007 letter should have generated enough snow for Iron Dog to have awesome snow for years and years.

DeleteThank you. Don't want to forget this and Sarah's part.
DeleteSomeone keeps posting about her rumored links to the AKNG scandal.
Delete#CINCsarahwasaderp
someone forgot to tell that Murkowski added an addendum to the Fiscal 2015 Defense Budget Fund about Sexual Assault in the Alaska National Guard...I would say 'so much for the rumor' now it is law...Gotta Love those Murkowski's...they might be into oil....but hey...They HATE those that do RAPE....hmmm...smirk!
DeleteDid Sean Parnell block matters regards the AKNG scandal for himself only? Was he also helping Sarah?
DeleteThe Gov Sarah Palin's lack of response is even more appalling when one remebers April Morlock was a friend of Barstool, accompanied her to LA...there are pics of them eating FROYO together...and the Morlock home was the one Willow helped to trash a few Christmas seasons ago - necessitating Sarah's early return from Hawaii to fix things for Willow.
DeleteThis is the part of the interview that got me, when Dakota quoted his father as saying "Did you really think about this? you know you make some hasty decisions."
ReplyDeleteHasty decisions are a pattern for him? And this engagement was one hasty IMPULSIVE decision, a bad way to get married let alone buy a car.
This relationship has all been a fairytale romance so far, playing in Vegas, playing in Alaska they have not even had time to have one argument yet it's all been fun! I think the phrase Rude Awakening applies here, but for Tripp's sake i hope it lasts two years anyway and hope they hold off on a baby for at least that amount of time to, but Bristol will want one right away because she makes hasty decisions to.
Hold off on a baby? Bristol is already pregnant by Joey Junker, and Dakota will take the fall as the sperm donor.
DeleteIt would probably be of great benefit to Tripp for Bristol/Dakota to not only hold off on a baby but make sure Tripp gets to see Levi regularly throughout whatever hillbilly wingding they have planned for a wedding.
DeleteI believe he has a head injury as well. Many people with head injuries tend to lack impulse control.
DeleteSarah and Chuck should marry Dakota. Leave Bristol out of it.
ReplyDelete"I always keep a gun in my vehicle, and I always keep my guns loaded, all of them are always loaded, so I don't have to worry about it. "
ReplyDeleteNot only do we have a parade of red flags flapping furiously in the breeze, this statement should also produce strobe lights, alarm bells, sirens, whistles, and fireworks.
From everything we've seen and heard regarding Tripp, he seems to be a headstrong, willful child who doesn't appear to follow rules (if he even has any). I would bet that any rules about leaving New Daddy Dakota's guns alone would NOT be adhered to once he's out of the adults' direct line of vision.
Add to that a gun owner who has been diagnosed with PTSD, has already attempted suicide, drinks too much and is not used to having a young child around, and this is a tragedy waiting to happen.
Sounds like a guy ready to be a dad!
Delete(will someone please knock some sense into these people)
"I always keep a gun in my vehicle, and I always keep my guns loaded, all of them are always loaded, so I don't have to worry about it. "
DeleteOnly the ones he grabs for suicide are not loaded. He has not clue about that like misfire.
So the one on the nightstand was loaded, too.
DeleteGotcha, Dakota.
Apparently, it's the guns that AREN'T loaded that Dakota worries about.
Delete" I always keep my guns loaded, all of them are always loaded, so I don't have to worry about it. "
Delete------------------
The time to "worry about it" is when all the guns are loaded, not unloaded. I often wonder why people like that feel the need to have a loaded gun within arm's reach? Are they expecting a drug dealer to bust through the front door? A gang of terrorists to break in? Why so much fear?
After reading stuff about Dakota and what he said, I would like to enter my own opinion and say that his episode of attempted suicide more than likely did not happen. I feel very strongly that he just said that to garner more attention to his MOH.
ReplyDeleteSo he goes to shoot himself and the gun clicks. and he says someone must of unloaded it. But then he says if you really want to do it ...cock it back and do it!
Delete(But he knows the gun is already unloaded...
because it didn't work the first time.)
Am I missing something here?
I said the same thing earlier. That this no-bullet-in-the-gun was a "miracle" that gives him Christian creds.
DeleteObviously, though tormented, God miraculously saved him from himself, so there must be a reason for him to continue living.
Surely it is to lead this great nation, right?
Or to scam money off Christians who tend to be gullible.
If it was the rill dill, I hope he gets treatment. Sounds like he won't unless he's forcibly locked up for his own good.
Im not a schitzophrenic and neither am I.

lol...oh that was funny...but true...sad but true...shrug
Delete5:35 that is fun but you forgot a few "I"s. There are at least 4 I can determine.

Marina is one of Cusack's hookers and she does personal video porn online. You pay her and she uses toys and other things while you watch or even will do other girls or guys for the right price. I can't even believe that Sarah would let Piper hang around with a professional sex worker...
Injured mental case Dakota will fit right in.
So, basically, getting treated for PTSD isn't masculine enough for the groom. The ACA allows thirty grand for people with addictions to get help, I imagine it's even more for a soldier who keeps all his guns loaded and is about to marry a desperate dim bulb who believes in fairy tales and doing what mommy tells her to. I hope, for the sake of Tripp and any other offspring in that dysfunctional family that he reconsiders and does the right thing. Those guns have a tendency to "go off", and it's the innocents that lose their lives.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if Levi and his lawyer can bring this in front of the judge for review?
We only get one chance to get it right, obviously this guy is calling out for help.

DeleteMeyer's understanding of PTSD seems a little lacking.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/dakota-meyer-fears-fort-hood-deeped-ptsd-stigma-article-1.1748813
" Meyer, who at the age of 22 braved heavy enemy fire in Afghanistan to save fellow Marines and a Navy corpsman, believes the reason Lopez snapped is because of something else.
"Going out and shooting your own friends, your own people, that's not PTSD," he told Fox News. "The media label this shooting PTSD, but if what that man did is PTSD, then I don't have it."
Speculating on what Lopez's issue was, he said, "I don't know what the word is for it. It's close to psychotic.""
I think it's pretty normal for a PTSD person to not comprehend the full extent of the disorder. Having PTSD doesn't instantly endow a person with a degree in psychology or psychiatry.
DeleteHis understanding is lacking is why he is on Fox News?

It's just tragic that there is still so much stigma and misinformation about PTSD. Extreme stress really does a number on all sorts of brain systems. It's neurobiology, and there's no shame or weakness in that. If he had a bullet wound, he wouldn't let it fester. Why do we view biochemical trauma any differently?
ReplyDeleteAnd there's also a tremendous amount of misunderstanding about alcohol addiction. Guzzling a bottle and a half of crown royal on a regular basis will eff up those synapses and dull dopamine receptors faster than Sky Gawd can make bullets magically disappear from always loaded guns.
Dakota, your brain needs some healing time. I hope you get effective treatment.
5;19 pm here from the post above. Thank you, and mine was written as snark, of which I apologize. This runs in my family, and I can see it coming miles away. If Dakota really cared about himself, he would run from the Palins as fast as he could, but he can't. "Looking for love in all the wrong places," as it were. So is Bristol. mommie dearest is orchestrating for any political cred and attention possible. Sad. Just horribly sad to watch them.

ReplyDeleteThe man of the house rules.
DeleteTrack had all his guns. It is the lifestyle that Bristol is comfortable with. Levi is also a hunter and he is alright with guns. If he has a problem with his son living with a gun guy that Levi doesn't like his house rules, he will need to take that up with the court people in Alaska with the custody.
Bristol may have her own problems with how she has been treating Tripp. The court may have someone checking out the way they live at the compound.
They had Track get out. No one is certain what that could mean. Did he take his guns? Is the drinking and drugging scene get better? Is there less cursing? Not is Todd and his buddies are still teaching Tripp bad words.

Dakota is right. If he was drinking a bottle and a half of Crown a day, he would have really be loaded-- and he would not have known if his gun was loaded or not. It's amazing that he knew where the gun was.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if Bristol and Sarah have processed this information but it is like a bright red flag-- warning!
I will say this as a wife of a Vietnam vet who lost some of his hearing and got a bronze star due to loss of his platoon except for him and one other guy He lives with it everyday, using your helmet to kill, remember the movie Forrest Gump where the rain went up and sideways? that's true, it was shit, and let me tell you to this day he will not fly on a plane because if they told him to take his shoe's off he knows he would lose it.
ReplyDeleteHe never got treated for post traumatic stress and i prefer to spell it out instead of giving it some abbreviation, it leaves a mark and Bristol has no idea what that will mean. They self medicate, they were kids when they signed up and used so i should feel sorry for Dakota but i know stories of many who gave their LIVES and never got the recognition they deserved.
And guess what? The Doc that saved my husbands life was .. a Muslim! would not carry a gun, but everyone protected Doc because he may save your butt.
Good on you Dakota, but not good on you for using your medal of Honor to make money, have some pride, you don't pimp it out. You and the Palin's are a match of uneducated greedy assholes.
Hey Bristol and Dakota! Why so quiet? For the last few weekends, you guys have been posting instagram photos of your brief, exciting romantic courtship and engagement. Almost every detail of your personal life has been posted on-line. Why so quiet? Where are the photos of you two shopping for your dream house-- or will Bristol and Tripp be moving into Dakota's place in Kentucky? Where are Bristol's photos of her latest designer duds? She was so anxious to show off her LV purses and Louboutin shoes. Why so shy? Surely there will be a designer wedding gown, maybe a Lady Gaga or Taylor Swift kind of wedding with several changes of gowns throughout the ceremony??? There are only two months-- where are you guys registered? Of course you want presents presents presents! That's the idea of having a big wedding, or you would have gotten married in Vegas by Elvis. Showers, parties, gag gifts for the bride and groom, dresses for the bridesmaids and groomsmen. Come on, this event has to be as big and spectacular as the Kardashian wedding or you guys aren't even trying to attract the kind of attention that you have been longing for. Are you really waiting for the offers to come pouring in from People Magazine, the tabloids and/or a TV reality show??? No, seriously, photos every weekend and then nada. Come on, don't tease us!

3Well-written, but problematic
ByTimothy J. Bazzett "BookHappy"on December 7, 2012
Format: Hardcover
INTO THE FIRE, by Dakota Meyer and Bing West, while certainly well-written and meticulously documented, in the end failed to really engage me as a reader. There are two reasons for this. One is that CO-authored books, to my mind, can never quite match the reality or the authenticity of a true memoir - i.e. one written solely by its subject/narrator. In that respect, INTO THE FIRE, simply did not quite ring true. By this I do not mean that I did not believe Meyer's story. I mean that I could not stop thinking that his story had been carefully organized and scrubbed by a talented and professional writer (Bing West), and I also kept wondering how much of the substantiating research about the Afghan war and the host country, not to mention the notes and timeline - all the stuff that 'fleshes out' a story about a single battle that lasted less than one day - had been dug out and skillfully addended by West.
The second reason I had trouble with Meyer's story is more difficult to explain. But I'll try. Samuel Hynes, a writer I have the highest admiration for (who was, incidentally, a combat veteran of WWII, and whose memoir, FLIGHTS OF PASSAGE, is a minor classic), once told me that one of the most important ingredients to a successful story is a likeable narrator. Much as I wanted to like Meyer, I couldn't. My problem with this began early, in the Introduction, when Meyer described his team, ending with, "The others were looking to do their jobs and return home; I was looking for a fight." And just a few pages later, still in the Intro, he describes his first 'kill' -
"I aim the gun. I'm a sniper; shooting is technique. No emotion ... I fire burst after burst, walking the tracers up the slope. I hit his legs first, then his back. I keep shooting until I'm tearing up a corpse. I rip through two hundred rounds ..."
This is followed by joking with his team members, no introspection, no sense of the enormity of the taking of life. And this is pretty typical of the strong, silent macho 'cowboy' attitude Meyer displays through most of the book. He relents only slightly when he tells of his subsequent and reluctant treatment for PTSD. In the Epilogue, Bing west asserts that, "These are his words and expressions. This is Dakota's account from start to finish." West also says, "The focus of this book is the character growth of Dakota Meyer." He says more, about the "grit" and the "invincibility" of the American warrior. And while I understand these terms, and found the minute-by-minute descriptions of Meyer's heroism and bravery under fire most compelling, I still could not bring myself to "like" Dakota Meyer. And I'm not sure how much growth of character has resulted from his horrific experience. I respect him and admire what he did. But that all-important story element Hynes told me about - likeability - was missing. I've talked about this with another friend, a retired Marine, who understood what I was saying and even agreed, but also noted, "Nevertheless a good man to have on your side in a fight." Too true. And there is no question in my mind that Dakota Meyer is absolutely deserving of the Medal of Honor.
So yes, a very well-written book, and a page-turner, but not really my kind of book, and I know I'll probably be in the minority, but I can't say I really enjoyed reading it. (Three and a half stars)
Sarah would love to see this made into a movie and be a box office sensation like American Sniper. It is better than an election to have money and know you are popular.
DeleteWhat is this trend to create such dubious heroes? It is the military doing that? They control the Medal system and propaganda with our tax money.
Thanks for posting that.
DeleteI am more concerned that the Palins plan to let Dakota kill himself form PTSD with a gun or drink or have him killed and then turn Bristol into the next Taya.
DeleteNever got help with PTSD. Drinking a bottle and a half of crown daily.Never got help for his alcoholism. Tries to kill himself. Keeps loaded guns at the ready. This is a time bomb and it's not if, it's when this thing goes off. When he said he had some beers with the president,I knew right there, he's going to have some real difficult times ahead. I'm a recovering alcoholic and it took me years in recovery to get my shit together through counseling.
