President Obama's anger translator.

"Look at what's happening right now. Every serious scientist says we need to act. The Pentagon says it's a national security risk. Miami floods on a sunny day, and instead of doing anything about it we've got elected officials throwing snowballs in the Senate! It is crazy! What about our kids! What kind of stupid, short sighted, irresponsible bulls....?"

I have to admit that when I saw this bit start last night, I thought "This is not working."

But then when the President started his rant, I thought "Damn this is gold!"

You watch on Monday this is going to be the part that gets played and dissected over and over again.

I think the President has been dying to say some version of this for the last six and a half years.

And it must have felt so good that I would not blame him for lighting up a cigarette afterward.

I thought it worked from beginning to end. It was brilliant!

I love Key and Peele on Comedy Central and the Anger Translator is one of their best bits. Nice to see Keegan Key get the recognition he deserves actually getting to be on stage with the POTUS. He seemed a little nervous in the beginning but he became more comfortable as the bit went on. Nice to know that POTUS's people are cognizant of the team of Key and Peele, both are from mixed race parents, just as POTUS and have a lot to say on both white and black issues and are funny as hell!

That's a pretty good advertisement, I'll watch them next time I see them in my TV guide.

You can watch many of Key and Peele's skits on you tube including the original Anger Translator with Luther bits. Peele does a really, really good imitation of President Obama. They really are funny and very talented guys.

It's definitely funnier if you've seen the Key and Peele version. I'm a fan and was laughing as soon as I saw "Luther" come on the stage. It was hilarious!

"Hold on to your lily white butts."

Best intro ever. Well played, my President and Luther, watch the faces in the crowd. You made them uncomfortable? Good on YOU, they've only made your life miserable for the last six years while you do the duty you were called to, and they can't stand that you're right..

It will take days for the subtlety to penetrate the wingnuts' skulls.

I hope they literally shit in their pants.

I thought most Republicans lacked the subtlety gene.

Also the sarcasm gene, the parody gene and the sense of humor in general gene.

mlaiuppa @ 7:54am: Call me a coward, but at this advanced stage in my life I decided to not post this absolutely fandamtabulous POTUS interaction, precisely because I do not want to invite outright confrontations. I shall weave it into my discussions as time goes one. Please do not consider this hero worship, but I admire this president.

It wasn't really working for me last night but I watched it again today and felt totally different about it. I must say though "bucket it" was my favorite part of last night's presentation.

History will treat President Obama very well. Not so much President Cheney.

mlaiuppa, I just wish to see those responsible for the excesses of the GWB administration to be called to justice, preferably in the International Court of The Hague. Of course, that won't happen.

Just like everything else the President has done, sometimes you wonder, at the start, if he's doing it right, and then near the end you see he did it EXACTLY right -- or way closer to it than anyone else would have.

Yesssssssssssssssss! We have been v lucky. Love the "bucket list." Hahahaha.

He did do it right, the "community organizer" himself. Imagine he could have done if he hadn't been doomed to take down at the start, the best they could.

When people here say he was more serious last night, yes he was because he needed to say what he did, and HELL yes you did that, My President against all odds. Take a bow......you rock.

This D list celebrity with A list name recognition is trying to sell a story about he hooked up with his B list celebrity ex and baby mama who has A++ list name recognition. Apparently he needs the money and is willing to sell the story even though it would destroy his current relationship.

To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me. Makes a lot of sense if you look back to some of the odd behavior from both sides. Unlike others here, I don't believe Levi is always the victim. It's unfortunate that he and Bristol couldn't make things work, they're of the same cloth.

The only people who didn't think it "was working" or "funny" from the beginning were white. Sorry Gryphen, as open as you are ( and you are well on your way to "getting it" you still have not arrived.

    1. I guess I haven't “arrived," either. It just was, ah, pale--you should forgive the expression--compared to Obama working alone, going back over all these #WHCD (or for that matter, Key and Peele's actual act). Ah, but what they set up! Gryph said it: GOLD!

    3. Well, it was kinda obvious the news networks could dish it out or at least others enjoy bashing politicians but couldn't take criticism of themselves.

They laughed at the expense of Joe Biden and Ted Cruz but when it came to CNN and MSNBC there were OOs if not Boos.

When I think of the "anger translator" as the lead in to the President's climate change rant at the end, it all makes so much more sense. And it makes the whole thing absolutely brilliant. It sure caught the lifeless audience off guard -- first of all having someone talk like an angry African American (something that is not allowed in their presence) and then having President Obama so clearly speak his mind about the crazy head-in-the-sand-about-to-be-drowned GOP anti-science mindset. Superb, President Obama. I hope some of those stuffed shirts in the audience were distressed and offended. They deserve to be.

O/T Lets see there was the Sarah Palin's Begathon, they just flat out asked for donations with nothing in return. Sarah was just counting on the goodness of her dumbshits to give her $10,000 . We have not heard of a thank you or if she reached her goal.

Then there was the hockey stick raffle Sarah was holding to raise only God knows how much. To get into the raffle you had to fork over $10.00. We have never heard of a thank you or heard who won the piece of wood.

The new scam is you can get a calendar from SarahPAC for a donation ranging from $100-$200 dollars. I don't want to get into folks business but you can get a calendar for $00.99 at the Dollar Store.

We're just waiting for next weeks grifting idea to raise an undisclosed amount of money.

How much of all the money she collected is going to payroll? Who knows, is it 75 cents out of each dollar they collected?

She's so done it's not even funny and she knows it. Hence the incessant begging because once the remaining mouthbreathers finally realize that she's not running the PAC will dry up. Lol!
