Speaking at the Lincoln Day Dinner of the Republican Party of Maricopa County, Arizona this past week, the conservative rocker shared this charming message with the crowd in attendance.
“Here’s your job, Republican Party,” Nugent said. “20-25 of those guys kill themselves every day, and they haven’t told you why, and they haven’t told anybody else why, but they told me why: because the Commander-in-Chief is the enemy.”
First off the dramatic uptick in veteran suicides was a problem even back during the Bush administration, so it clearly cannot be blamed on President Obama.
Secondly does anybody truly belief that anybody contemplating taking their own life would share their reason with this corpulent mound of fecal material?
No this is yet another unwarranted attack on Presdient Obama, callously using the suicides of our veterans as a bludgeon, from the an individual who was such a coward that he chose to soil himself rather than risk injury or death while serving his country.
With a friend like Ted Poopy Pants Nugent, who needs enemies? He is just like the Palins, Dysfunctional.

And yes I realize that Nugent is not running for office, but he certainly WILL be asked to support or endorse certain candidates and that can result in a negative impact if people know about Nugent's past, and the hateful things he says.

I also suspect that the veterans might be more inclined to cite things such as PTSD, spouse leaving/divorce, money problems, poor health. A close RW relative likes to taunt me about his support of various righties. He threw out a complimentary comment about Ted Nugent awhile back. He got a 3 or 4 quick statements from me about exactly how Nugent dodged the draft and about Nugent's history of being a child molester, I repeated what Courtney Love said about Nugent and included that Nugent's actions and reputation was splashed across the Chicago Tribune pages in the early '70's.
My relative replied "Well, he runs a camp for kids and others who want to come and learn to shoot, learn about guns. He's very popular". I asked if he was popular with people who approved of draft dodging? And popular with those who approved of his having sex with 12 year old girls? Or was he popular with people who were clueless about who he really was? I didn't get an answer but I haven't heard anymore about Nugent.
IOW, we may not hear a lot about Nugent but behind the scenes he's busy and influences a lot of people. (By "influences" I mean fools a lot of people.

So there are many, many reasons for suicidal ideation, and not being able to meet the Army's requirements might point to long-standing mental issues.
In 2013, the VA reported that by far the largest number of suicides of veterans was for those more than 49 years old.
So the preposterous rantings of this egomaniac need to be called out for what they are. Down there in Hicksville, Arizona, the audience is just waiting to be spoon fed this stuff, and no one is able, at that instant, to stand up and tell him the truth.

OT: Did anybody else watch Hardball tonight? Chris had Ron "Crosseyed" Christie on there to talk about the Iran deal. Ron started spouting the old tired Republican talking points comparing Obama to famed coward Neville Chamberlain during World War II and also the obligatory Hitler comparison. I thought Chris was going to climb over the desk and choke Christie he was sputtering and spitting mad. He had cooled down a bit after the commercial break but I would say his blood pressure was close to 170/120 at that point. My advice to Chris Matthews would be don't have Republican buffoons on Hardball until after June 30th.
