The little girl's name is Claudia and she obviously had a long day.
It is not often that the President's famously mystical abilities with children fails him, but when it does it is clearly spectacular.
Oh well, you can't please everybody every day now can you?
I just love Claudia, she knows how to let it all hang out!
ReplyDeleteShe is looking for some hope and change in the carpet.
DeleteComments elsewhere have been strongly of the "that child should be disciplined/punished immediately!"
ReplyDeleteOf course, that would only have made it worse at that moment.
Perhaps bringing really young children to a sit-down dinner at the White House, even if it's a family affair, might not have been a good idea.
But I'll bet Claudia stopped crying soon, anyway. Maybe she was able to take a much-needed nap away from all the other people for a while, and she woke up refreshed and cheerful.
oh puh-leeze, disciplined and punished? Children that age can get over stimulated easy, any mom will tell you that, and I'm a grandma of eight.
DeleteI was raised in an abusive household, belt and all.
I'd have grabbed her arm, stood her up and swatted her ass a few times and reminded her how to behave correctly.
DeleteShe's just a baby.. Lighten up.
Delete8:23 I'd love to do that to you. See how you like it. Do you think it would help?
Delete"Anonymous8:23 PM I'd have grabbed her arm, "
Delete-------------------------------
Yes, and hopefully when the child was taken to the ER after hurting her arm "when she tripped", the spiral fracture indicating abuse would show up clearly on the x-rays.
You need to figure out "how to behave correctly" yourself before trying to beat it into tiny children.
Sweet Cheeeses, has anyone ever had a toddler? She should be punished? For what?
DeletePresident Obama is really good with babies. That tantrum never seem faze him. After all, he has been dealing with Petulant, Tantrum throwing Republicans, and Idiotic Rightwingers for over 6 years.
ReplyDeleteBabies are a good judge of people.
DeleteAnd they LOVE him.
Exactly, the Repubs act like 2 year olds.
DeleteClaudia's great-grandchildren will bring that picture to show-and-tell.
ReplyDeleteI can hardly wait to see the photos of him in 15 years playing with his grandchildren!!
ReplyDeleteOh, that is a nice thought!
DeleteHopefully it will be in the White House if one of his daughters or their spouses decides to go into politics.
DeletePoor Claudia is going to hear about this moment at every major milestone of her life. "Hey! Remember that time Claudia threw a tantrum in front of the President?!"
ReplyDeleteO/T...just started watching reruns of the 'West Wing' at Netflix...astonishing to me how so many of the issues addressed are still with us 15+ years later.
ReplyDeleteYes! Some of those episodes could have been written last week.
DeleteLove the president's gesture and the posture of the little one who is watching the tanrum. Of course PO knows what to do, he deals with a Congress that pulls a tantrum over everything.
ReplyDelete"he deals with a Congress that pulls a tantrum over everything"

You are so right. In this case, the tantrum-thrower a) is cute and b) has a reason (tiredness) to throw her wee tantrum.

Maybe Claudia heard that a certain Ol' Finger-Pointing Gargoyle was in Kentucky - and that was way too close for comfort for the poor child.
ReplyDeleteClaudia has an excuse....she's two.
ReplyDeleteWhat excuses do John Boehner and Mitch McConnell have for their tantrums?
They're also two, mentally and emotionally.
DeleteWhy do people put those retarded bows on bald girl-baby heads? DERP! If you want your baby to look like she rides the 'short bus' :-)
ReplyDeleteTo Anonymous 8:22 PM
DeleteYou're nasty.
I am one of those who like the bows on the band.
DeleteIt's done because or socially clueless jerks like you, 8:22 who feel the need tp publicly speculate about the gender of haven't as yet been able to grow long hair - you know a genetic/biological thing. Parents get tired of having to say "she's a girl" to total strangers.
DeleteIt takes a special kind of nasty and ugly mind to think that little bows on an adorable little bald baby girl make her look cognitively impaired.
DeleteYou need to look up the meaning of the word "derp" and then stand in front of a mirror and say it repeatedly.
I believe 8:22 (commenter on thread at 4:57) and 8:23 are the same angry troll who showed up again in the middle of the night as 1:54 AM.
DeleteHe has a sad because people like the President.
Piece of shit troll! Fuck off. What kind of douche nugget picks on babies? Get help.
DeleteAnonymous 8:22 PM...You sound like a juvenile. A poorly-raised juvenile. Are you are Palin?
DeleteJesse you need to do a blog post about TLC's "40-Year-Old Child" "Documentaries". These parents, and the doctors, are sick. Total propaganda pieces. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XmjH1tQaKE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUPZzJ6Pe64
ReplyDeletePresident Obama gives 97-year-old a guided tour of White House after she spent decades raising money for underprivileged school kids
ReplyDeleteA 97-year-old who grew up in segregated Oklahoma and who never got to take field trips as a child was granted the excursion of her lifetime on Tuesday.
Vivian Bailey, who served domestically in the Women's Army Corps during WW2, was invited by President Obama to meet him at the White House to honor her commitment to Maryland children.
'It was quite a surprise! I had no idea we were going to meet the President and the Vice President, and it was awesome,' Bailey told ABC News.

Just think what was going through this African-American woman's mind; she lived through the Civil Rights era, and she got to meet the first African-American president of the US!
DeleteI read and enjoyed that story too. What a neat lady - to take the time during her long retirement to help young school children. I'm so glad that she had such a memorable visit to the White House. Both President Obama and Vice President Biden are simply good people. We are so fortunate to have them in charge.

O/T but the piss ants are getting pissy. Is it possible that their heads are finally working their way out of their sphincters?
ReplyDeleteJay Silak Important message to Gov. Sarah Palin . Run for president or contributions to Sarah Pac will dry up. Run for president and don't disappoint us. Gov.Palin , we don't want somebody else, we want you . Run for president and stop teasing us. We deserve Palin 2016 . Governor Palin , be a candidate for president in 2016 or you'll never see any money from most of us I promise you of that . I hope you know this and Run for president and stop taking your supporters for granted , we've waited years for President Sarah Palin , give us that chance in 2016 .
Hmm..I wonder what made Mr. Silak realize that he and other Palin supporters have been nothing more than personal piggy banks for the failed VP contender and half term Governor of Alaska?
DeleteI will agree that those C4Peers deserve Sarah Palin.
DeleteClaudia wasn't crying because she was tired, someone told her that President Obama wasn't going to be able to run for a third term. There's a lot of us who have the same reaction that Claudia had.
ReplyDeleteI love President Obama gesture and expression and the little girl watching. The photo is priceless.
LOL!
DeleteFuck Obama and his fans.
ReplyDeleteAwww, did someone pee on your Cheerios?
DeleteClaudia's tantrum is cute and age-appropriate. Yours, not so much, grumpypants.
DeleteWhat's the matter Sarah? Did you see what 10:07 posted?
DeleteYeah, that's gotta suck. No more family vacations and private jets paid for by the PAC.
Funny. I do the same thing every morning watching morn joe. All the same old lying baloney and fake people. All the circus coverage of the bus load of losers attempting to lie and buy the white house. It just makes me so sick. We need CHANGE, change from this transparent crime against americans to stop today. Our tax dollars are being ripped from our hands from greedy global hogs while our country crumbles. Wake up America.
ReplyDeleteDid anyone see Frontline on PBS this week ?
ReplyDeleteHistory always repeats itself Mr. President.
Read this and then take heed.

I'm willing to be bet that the toddler was very shy and burst into tears and then full tantrum mode simply because she couldn't deal with all of the people looking at her. An unfortunate reaction but not an impossible one.
ReplyDeleteBeaglemom
Yeah--I went through a phase when I was four or five where the thought of being photographed made me start crying.
DeleteHe's the Baby Whisperer in Chief. Imagine what fun his own kids had growing up with a Dad like him?
