Koch brother paid-for Alaska Senator Dan Sullivan endorses Koch brother paid-for mayoral candidate Amy Demboski.

Courtesy of Alaska Dispatch:

U.S. Sen. Dan Sullivan endorsed Anchorage mayoral candidate Amy Demboski in a statement released by her campaign Thursday, and a Republican state senator from Anchorage, Lesil McGuire, came out in favor of Ethan Berkowitz in a radio ad that began running the same day.

Sullivan, a Republican, appeared at a fundraiser for Demboski earlier in April. He made his endorsement official Thursday.

This of course would probably count as the least surprising news of the day, since we know that Sullivan is a Koch brother lackey who readily jumps through Koch brother hoops.

What is somewhat more surprising is that fellow Republican Lesil McGuire came out in support of Ethan Berkowitz, the Democrat.

In the ad supporting Berkowitz, McGuire, who worked with Berkowitz in the Alaska Legislature, speaks directly to listeners. The ad was produced by Berkowitz for a Better Anchorage, a union-funded independent expenditure group.

“As a Republican, I want a mayor that gets the basics done right,” McGuire says. “Good roads, great schools and strong public safety. In this election we can also have someone with vision and integrity and a proven record of bringing people together.”

She describes Berkowitz as a “gifted public servant who will work with all sides” and a small business owner.

I have had some issues in the past with McGuire but she shows some backbone here is refusing to support the candidate supposedly on her side of the aisle and instead supporting the one that can actually do the job.

Ethan is indeed a talented and ethical man, and as yesterday's post proves Amy Demboski is neither.

The above photo makes me want to barf! Carpetbagger Dan is just one of the reasons Alaskans need to get to the polls and vote for Ethan Berkowitz!

Even though proof has been published about the lying fraud, Amy, Ohio Dan STILL ignores it and supports her? What an ass!!

Thank you Ms. McGuire for supporting Ethan Berkowitz.

Get out and vote Alaskans! Turn the state back to being 'blue'! Republican majorities have done nothing but run it into the hole - both financially and governmentally via the Alaska Legislature. They are countering Governor Walker every step of the way and he is doing exactly what the majority wanted him to do when they voted for him and he was elected!

And, thank you Les Gara for trying to stand up against the Republican majority in the Alaska Legislature. They treat you terribly and it is embarrassing to watch the leaders in the majority handle you via Gavel to Gavel (TV)! I marvel at how you keep your cool and maintain constant and true professionalism!

Hey here is a possibility- maybe someone tipped Lesil that Demboski's "missing baggage" was about to be delivered.

    :-)

I do have good reason to believe that the Demboski "missing baggage" delivery took at least a week. It's almost enough to make you wonder about the timing of the radio incest fiasco beatdown earlier this week...

CAn you imagine these two idiots talking publically, speechifying in their meandering, Lily-livered way? Nails on the brain.

What doesn’t make sense? I understand it to say both of these idiots (my addition) are Koch-backed politicians.

Gryphen, please put a hyphen in each "paid-for." This will turn these phrases into adjectives and the title will make sense. 10:34 is reading it just like I did, as if "paid" is a verb, and it truly does not make sense that way. You could even make it "Koch-brother-paid-for" to make it even more clear.

Thanks 11:53 -- I was sorely tempted to ask Gryph to put hyphens where they need to be after reading the title 3 times.

P.S. There are many other times when he needs to use hyphens...Just saying... :D

    4. Okay, I get it now. The hyphens help.

I might have phrased this way:

Dan Sullivan (Koch puppet) endorses mayoral candidate Amy Demboski (Koch puppet).

You could also use Koch shill.

Gee, Amy has such pretty blond hair. Why does she dye the roots black? (meow)

No...Koch Brothers and their front groups are behind both Demboski and Sullivan.

      http://www.alaskapublic.org/2015/04/10/national-state-level-conservative-groups-ramping-up-presence-in-anc-mayors-race/

"Demboski may also receive indirect help from Americans for Prosperity, the national group founded by the billionaire Koch brothers that opened an Anchorage office in August. The group, which doesn’t disclose its donors, ran radio and Internet ads tying Berkowitz to President Barack Obama just over a month before the April 7 election.

Jeremy Price, director of the group’s Alaska chapter, said Americans for Prosperity plans to be engaged in the runoff and is working on a strategy. But Price said it would be an effort to “educate” voters about Berkowitz, without explicitly supporting Demboski. He said that as a rule, Americans for Prosperity does not endorse candidates, making it able to avoid reporting financial information to campaign finance agencies like the Alaska Public Offices Commission.

Price said the group has been knocking on doors and making phone calls to ask voters a loaded question about what they think about Berkowitz’s support for a state income tax -- in 2002, Berkowitz voted in the Alaska House for a bipartisan fiscal plan that included a proposal for a state income tax -- but is still strategizing beyond that."

    2. How about "Koch shill Dan Sullivan endorses Amy Demboski, another Koch shill, for mayor".

I'm glad it wasn't just me having trouble deciphering the title.

  8. Headline makes sense when you realize 'Koch brother paid for' is an adjective, not a noun-verb.

I have nothing good to say about McGuire. She is a manipulative opportunist and a bully. Sarah with a little more education, a little smarter and a little more public substance abuse and adultery problem. Generally a mean girl.

I think that she's fairly confident that Ethan will win and this is little more than a political ploy. Why didn't she support him until the writing was on the wall? You can bet your ass that she'd be supporting Demboski if it looked like she would win.

So, why is Lesil supporting a democrat?

Because Lesil will do anything if she thinks it will work to her advantage. That's her whore like nature. (She's not the only one. There are lots of politicians like her.)

You see, Lesil ran for Lieutenant Governor last year and dropped out. I think she saw the writing on the wall and knew that not only did she lack the support to win, but a lot of her indiscretions would be publicly aired and that wouldn't be good for her either. With our States large transient population, many of her supporters are unaware of her history. They move here from Texas for a few years for a oil job and see that she's a "conservative" and vote for her. That's all the thinking that they have to do, so that's all the thinking that they do and Lesil wins.

But things have changed this time around. Her bid for Lt. Governor exposed a lot of her past. A past that we long time residents know well and wonder how she's managed to stay out of prison. She's also in the legislative majority who have proven to be less than competent lately. So much so that many of them are probably looking at their last term. The general public is fairly disgusted with the lot of them.

Lesil sees this coming and is hoping for a nice cushy six figure appointment in the Muni. Somewhere that she can still have exposure and wait out another few years until there is a new batch of Texans that will vote her into office again.

I do hope that Ethan has the fortitude to stiff arm her. But who knows what kind of dirt she may have on him. They did serve in the legislature together. Not that I have any knowledge of anything that Ethan may have done, but during that time Lesil was pretty much doing a "Who's on first" routine. Some bad things may well have happened and Lesil is not beyond using that to her advantage.

And why is Lieutenant Dan supporting Dembowski? That one is easy. He's a dumbass from the lower 48 and doesn't know any better. So long as there is an "R" in front of her name, he'll support her. And he's an arrogant military officer (being former military, I've seen his type many times before) and won't rescind his decision. He sees that as weakness and would rather ride that pony to his death than admit that he was wrong.

So, that's it in a nutshell. We'll see where this takes them. I see Ethan winning this thing but who knows what the repercussions will be for Lieutenant Dan and Lesil. Frankly, I would be happy if neither of them held public office again. Better yet, if one or both of them were indicted.

    1. Never met a teabagger that didnt crow about their military service7:49 PM

"Demboski said she joined the military when she was 18, and married Dempsey while she was in technical training. She said she and Dempsey were deployed to England, and she became pregnant with her daughter. She said she moved back to Alaska for health reasons."

So why isn't Demboski's military service listed in her bio at ANCH?

" Amy graduated from Chugiak High School in 1994 and went on to earn Bachelor degrees in Justice and History from UAA, as well as an MBA, with an emphasis in Finance, from Columbia Southern University. Amy and her husband, Ben have two children; their daughter, Kennedy, is a 2014 graduate of Chugiak High School and son, Riley, is a freshman at Chugiak High.

Amy has worked for many years in the healthcare industry, with a focus on business development and management. Amy was formerly the President of the Chugiak Community Council, the Chair of the Municipal Budget Advisory Commission, the Mayor's appointment to the Chugiak-Eagle River Parks & Recreation Board of Supervisors, and she currently serves on the Alaska Commission on Judicial Conduct, as well as an active member of the Sleeping Lady Lions Club.

      Term expires in 2016."

Maybe that military service wasn't completed for some reason?

Maybe the taxpayers took it in the @$$ by paying for her training before she was discharged early?

      "Ms. Mayor, maybe
Local Assemblywoman discusses her bid for mayor

      Military kid

Demboski grew up a military kid, lived in Japan, the Philippines and the East Coast before her family settled in the Eagle River area when she was 12. She graduated for Gruening Middle School and Chugiak High School, where she met her husband, Anchorage Fire Department captain Ben Demboski. They married in 1998, at the chapel at Elmendorf Air Force Base.

“Nothing impacted me more than growing up in the military,” she says. “Dad used to joke and say I was the most military kid that he knew.”

She attended University of Alaska Anchorage, obtained degrees in both justice and history and went on to get her MBA, with an emphasis in finance, from Columbia Southern University.

“My forte,” she says with a laugh, “is business development.”

She put her degrees to good use, building up a multi-million dollar business.

“I was very successful but my heart felt empty,” she says. “I looked at my husband one day and said, ‘I feel as if I’m not doing enough for my community.’”

      http://www.alaskastar.com/Alaska-Star/October-Issue-1-2014/Ms-Mayor-maybe/

THAT'S WHEN SHE DECIDED TO ENLIST IN THE AIRFORCE A SECOND TIME! (hahaha just kidding...the all caps is not in the original article, and I have no reason to believe Demboski wants to be in the Air force any more that the Air Force wants her again. Although I do see reports that there are plenty of religious nutbaggers in the AF these days... )

So once again no mention of Demboski's "service" in the Air Force. Is this a lie of omission? Seems to match this:

" Lying by omission, otherwise known as exclusionary detailing, is lying by either omitting certain facts or by failing to correct a misconception." http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Lying_by_omission
