Megyn Kelly admits that she plans to lob softball questions during interview with the Duggars.

Courtesy of Mediaite:

Fox News’ Megyn Kelly warned viewers Monday night that her upcoming, exclusive sit-down with Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar might not be as “tough” as the hosts of The View and others have predicted it will be.

“I’ll take that reputation as a tough but fair journalist,” Kelly said. “However, this isn’t going to be a cross-examination of a family. It’s going to be an interview. I want to hear their story. And I think America wants to hear their story now.” “Nothing is off limits,” Kelly said of the Wednesday night interview.

But, she added, “I don’t plan on getting into the specific details about what was done, because my understanding is the victims don’t want to discuss that either.”

So pretty much as we all suspected.

After all why would the Duggars go on if they did not know that Fox was going to coddle them, and allow them to spin their story to make it seem that THEY are the victims?

And remember this is a family that even a Christian PR firm refused to take on as a client.

  4. There is nothing this grifter family will not do for money. Why would you grant an interview to anyone? Because you get paid...I guess all the pain the family is going through can be helped along with a little FOX cash

It's going to be an hour of conservative Christians boo-hooing on FOX about being persecuted for their religious beliefs. Anybody who thought that Megyn or FOX was going to do anything that might potentially alienate Duggar supporters is extremely naive.

Because Megyn "Caustic" Kelly is a lawboy, she will spin a tall defense by using a giant offense.
Bet the offense smacks of persecuting those home-schooled Christians everywhere in America today. And how we should have forgiveness in our hearts for pure Quiverful perverts no matter what millions they make on their ungodly awful teevee series.
I think the whole lot should be sequestered in a LGBT community for life with gags on 24/7.

    IANAL but

What exactly is the mandatory reporter law in Arkansas?
Was the law different when Josh Duggar committed his crimes?

    IANAL

    one online link is http://law.justia.com/codes/arkansas/2010/title-12/subtitle-2/chapter-18/subchapter-4/12-18-402

Chapter 18 - Child Maltreatment Act
Subchapter 4 - Reporting Suspected Child Maltreatment
    § 12-18-402 - Mandated reporters.
    12-18-402. Mandated reporters.

    (a) An individual listed as a mandated reporter under subsection (b) of this section shall immediately notify the Child Abuse Hotline if he or she:

    (1) Has reasonable cause to suspect that a child has:

    (A) Been subjected to child maltreatment; or

    (B) Died as a result of child maltreatment; or

    (2) Observes a child being subjected to conditions or circumstances that would reasonably result in child maltreatment.

    (b) The following individuals are mandated reporters under this chapter:

    (1) A child care worker or foster care worker;

a long list continues to something I found interesting

"(29) A clergy member, which includes a minister, priest, rabbi, accredited Christian Science practitioner, or other similar functionary of a religious organization, or an individual reasonably believed to be so by the person consulting him or her, except to the extent the clergy member:

    (A) Has acquired knowledge of suspected child maltreatment through communications required to be kept confidential pursuant to the religious discipline of the relevant denomination or faith; or

    (B) Received the knowledge of the suspected child maltreatment from the alleged offender in the context of a statement of admission;"

Again IANAL, I don't know if this is the current law or if it was the law at the time of the Josh Duggar crimes.

Still, that sure looks like a big confessional loophole. Wonder how and why that ended up in the law, if it is in the law.

Keep talking Duggars and Duggar huggers. The more you talk the more we know.

Hey, Bimbo, America KNOWS their story already. Their teenager repeatedly molests their sleeping daughters, and gets sent away to a swell guy who likes porn, and then repents, so all is well. We want to know when you knew about it, and why no one talks about what happened to the victims? Did they talk to anyone outside 'the family?' Bet not. Bet they were on their knees forgiving big brother, and blaming themselves for tempting him. Nice work, 'journalist.'

From what I've read, TLC hasn't cancelled their show, they've just temporarily pulled it from the schedule. They are really, really hoping that this will all go away. If that doesn't work, there is talk of retooling the show to focus on the married daughters and their families.

The Duggar tv show has made TLC a lot of money and they are hesitant to get rid of their cash cow.

      Delete
    2. If they haven't cancelled it yet they will. Or rather they will just fail to renew it.

They can't get any sponsors. They've all pulled out and no one wants to touch it with a ten foot pole.

There is NO defending Josh Duggar or this show.

They are considering a spin off with the two oldest girls but I doubt that will fly either.

The Duggar name is akin to Satan and Bin Laden. Everyone wants them just to go away and crawl into a hole and pull the dirt over.

I threw up a little when I saw the picture with this post. The expression on Michelle Duggar's face is cringe-worthy. OMG. Stepford wife or what? If any one of my kids were molested by anyone, that molester might find a few body parts missing. He would definitely learn to sleep with one eye open - in prison. There is NO EXCUSE for such behaviour that is acceptable. Josh would have been out of the house in a heartbeat. And the girls would be the ones in therapy - victim services. But, then again, I wouldn't have been popping out a quiver full of kids in the first place.

  20. Anonymous1:34 PM

The records were sealed because Josh and all his victims were minors. Fox is covering their assets because the Duggars can sue the office that released them to the magazine. Fox does not want to be sued. Also the Duggars are close to Mike Huckabee who is a good friend to Megyn. I think the illegal disclosure will highlight the interview.

We in the 21st century are witnessing a new thing for the first time, a cult so large and powerful they actually broadcast their crazyness: Fox News.

Calling itself a "news source" and "fair and balanced" are lies so ironic as to be blatantly obvious to any and everyone outside the cult.

But - as with every cult - those within believe it, and as with every cult, the first thing they tell you is that everyone else is lying.

What's the point, Megyno? You get an exclusive opportunity to interview the parents of a bona fide incestuous pedophile's parents, and what will the topic be? It would be so wrong if they canceled the show? They're being persecuted against? They're good parents? Ask Michelle who does her hair? What's the point?
