New York City wedding guest accidentally injures five people after gun in his pocket goes off.

Courtesy of ABC News:

A guest at a wedding reception at New York City's swanky Waldorf-Astoria hotel was playing with a gun when it accidentally went off, injuring five people, officials said.

A 42-year-old man had a gun in his pocket, and while wedding pictures were being taken on the first floor of the hotel, it went off, police said. The bullet ricocheted and grazed the head of a 55-year-old woman, who was conscious, alert and expected to be fine, police said.

The other injuries were to a 50-year-old man, a 38-year-old woman, a 48-year-old woman and another person who was not identified. All of them were hit by shattered glass or debris, police said. Their injuries were considered non-life-threatening and one person refused medical attention.

The gun was recovered by police. It was unclear whether the gun went off after it fell or whether it fired and then the man dropped it, police said.

The man had a limited gun permit, and so far there have been no charges filed.

Besides I heard it on good authority that the groom started a conflict with the man by throwing a garter in his direction.

Yep, those guns are certainly keeping us all safe, aren't they?

Sounds very fishy. They were arrested, then released. Big money? http://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/15/nyregion/wedding-guest-who-discharged-gun-at-waldorf-astoria-faces-charges.html?_r=0

The gun went off in his pocket. There is a photo of the hole in his pants!! Too bad it didn;t shoot something else off, and leave innocent people alone. Russian Mafia?

Damn it! There it is again. "When a gun accidentally went off."

Can't they at least say the truth? A stupid ass that is so dumb that he shouldn't have a weapon was responsible for the discharge of his weapon. Grow some balls and take responsibility for your own lack of common sense and stupidity.

They need to be charged every single time this happens for fondling gun while head up ass.

  5. I thought guns weren't allowed in New York City.

Not only did he have one but it was concealed?

What kind of doofus brings a gun to a wedding. I don't even think shotguns are used any more.

Typical libtard reaction, Gryphen. Why do you hate the constitution? At least be man enough to admit that you sensationalize this story to make it FAR worse than it is. Do you have to say FIVE people were injured? That makes it seems so much worse than a more even-handed than saying "a few people were injured" or "not many were shot" or "no one was killed" or "c'mon, more people died in Ted Kennedy's car than were killed in a fancy NYC hotel". Its not the story that's important but how you tell the story. GUNS FOR EVERYBODY!!!! YAY!!!!!

I've heard of "Shotgun Weddings", but this is a bit too literal.
