Even the Republicans now starting to hate the Republican party.

Courtesy of Vox:

A new Pew poll finds that Americans are taking an increasingly dim view of the Republican Party, a piece of news that's certain to bring smiles to the faces of Democrats. But the significance here is a bit more complex than it might at first appear.

The silver lining for the GOP is that, as you can see above, the bulk of the decline consists of self-identified Republicans saying they don't like the Republican Party. This means the new disapprovers mostly seem to be people who aren't actually ready to go vote for a Democratic congressional candidate.

On the other hand, disaffection on the part of natural Republicans does help explain why talk of a Donald Trump third-party run scares the GOP.

Damn I love having good news to start off my weekend.

By the way I really do not see that having the bulk of your decline in the polls coming from those who identify as members of your party as a "silver lining." Especially since those are the votes you need to keep Republican politicians in office.

But hey, that's just me.

It doesn't help the republican party much that their presumed knight in shining armor (John Ellis Bush) is going around scaring their hard-core most likely voters with threats of cutting social security and medicare.

All the way with Trump! lmao

This latest shooter in Louisiana (and yes, I am sickened by the murder of innocent people) has been identified as a registered Republican, tea party fan, hater of liberals. You won't hear any of those revelations on the Republicans' official party message machine, Fox News. They ought to hate themselves over that - but they will just ignore it.

Exactly! It doesn't matter how disgruntled they are about what their leaders are doing, their fear and loathing of "the liberals" is so strong that come election day they will do as they always have and pull that "ALL REPUBLICAN" lever of button or whatever they have always done.

That's why we MUST get out OUR vote even more heavily than our usual turnout for this election.

Vote early, vote often...just joking. You are right Leland, it's seriously important to VOTE -- in close races I don't trust those machines won't be compromised by Republican fiddling as in the last election(s).

This lady and her girlfriend were 7 minutes late getting their rental car from the garage and had to pay for the hour. Rather than pay $15 like the rest of us, she decided to throw a fit.

  9. But I would be curious to know if the dissatisfied Republicans think the party has gone too far right, or isn't insane enough for them yet.

The Republicans, disgruntled or not, brought all this on themselves when having more than fifteen candidates vie for ten spots on Fox News for their "debates". then cull them down by poll numbers till one's left standing. But. as a Democrat, seeing Republicans feel so bad about their own party, this late in the game, brings me joy.
Yeah, they'll hold their nose and vote straight ticket Republicans, but as others stated, We Democrats need to step up and get out the vote every chance we can. Apathy isn't an option.

  11. I'm reading that quite a few Republicans and right leaning independents are embracing Bernie Sanders.

I think Bernie is getting support from both sides.

The clown car never really had a chance but Hillary may be in trouble too.

If Bernie decides to run as an Independent, Trump will split the Republican vote and Bernie will draw from both sides.

He might make history and actually win.

  12. People of any party or religion who don't have the guts to call out their leaders and tell them they don't agree with some of their policies or positions are spineless. I may be a democrat, but I certainly don't agree with all party positions. I define myself. The party does not define me.
