Jon Stewart returned to The Daily Show on Monday to scoff at Republicans who are suddenly willing to distance themselves from Donald Trump — but only after he bad-mouthed one of their own in Arizona Sen. John McCain.
“The only reason you like this guy in the first place is because of the terrible things he was willing to say about Obama,” he said. “But Trump has no control over the projectile vomit of dickishness that comes out of his mouth every time he opens it. It was inevitable some of his word puke was gonna get on you.”
The GOP should have known better, Stewart said, because the party had been down the same road in 2008 with Sarah Palin and her “Wasilla word salad.”
“Once you cast a spell and bring an Internet comment to life, it no longer belongs to you,” he explained. “Only this time, the chatroom troll emoji you’ve conjured has $10 billion of its own money.”
Oh, that was SO satisfying.
It was a great show. And Larry Wilmore's show after had another of his EPIC takedowns of Bill Cosby - Wilmore will never let him rest.

Everyone on this planet is from somewhere else, except for those who remained in our human birthplace, the home of our evolution, the steppes of Africa where humans evolved over 2 million years ago. Once the African diaspora began those who left Africa immigrated elsewhere, making those who did immigrants. There were no national borders at that time, but those who traveled north, south, east and west out of Africa were technically immigrating to new lands, regardless of whether those lands were inhabited.
A friend told me she saw earlier on CNN that Trump has given out Lindsay Graham 's personal cell # to the public. This guy is starting to make Ted Cruz look sane.

President Barack Obama made his final appearance on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" on Tuesday, where he joked that he would use an executive order, if necessary, to keep host Jon Stewart from retiring. Obama also discussed the Iran negotiations, his final months in office, and the ongoing scandal within the Department of Veterans Affairs.
“I can’t believe you’re leaving before me. I’m going to issue an executive order: Jon Stewart cannot leave the show. It’s being challenged in the courts,” Obama said during a taping of the show in New York City, per a White House pool report.
Stewart, whose final show is scheduled for Aug. 6, responded by saying that “to me this is a state’s rights issue.”
Tune in tonight -- this should be epic.

Over four days, The Huffington Post found 162 people -- rival presidential candidates, other politicians, strategists, analysts, journalists and former prisoners of war -- have been asked to offer their take on Trump’s comment and/or how it will affect the 2016 primary.
Not included in the list is White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest, whose take on the fracas was broadcast when he delivered it during his daily briefing. Nor are MSNBC viewers, who were polled on Monday as to whether the McCain comments made Trump unpresidential.

The President was talking about the media, but he also nailed one of the dynamics that is fueling the rise of Donald Trump. The media loves celebrities and controversy. They media is drawn to these cheap forms of news coverage like a baby to a shiny object. Donald Trump knows how to do two things very well.
Trump knows how to appeal to Republican primary voters by speaking their extremist language, and he knows how to be the shiny object that the media can’t say no to. The country does have a serious decision coming up over who will be the next president, but instead of discussing issues, our corporate media is head over heels for Trump’s antics.
Obama criticism of media applies beautifully to Donald Trump, who is playing both Republican voters and the media in a cycle that reinforces itself. Trump says crazy things and his poll numbers go up. The media covers Trump because of his high poll numbers.
