Analysis shows that those Planned Parenthood videos were purposefully altered to give false impression. Gee, really?

Courtesy of HuffPo:

The undercover Planned Parenthood videos that spurred a congressional investigation were so severely manipulated that they wouldn't hold up in court, according to an analysis by three teams of forensic experts.

Planned Parenthood hired independent research firm Fusion GPS to investigate the validity of the first five "sting" videos released by the Center for Medical Progress, an anti-abortion group.

Glenn Simpson, a partner at the firm and a former Wall Street Journal reporter, assembled three teams of neutral experts to comb through the tapes using special video software. He said the teams found that all of the videos analyzed -- even the supposedly "full," unedited footage the CMP released -- were missing large sections of time and misleadingly altered so that separate conversations appeared to take place in an uninterrupted take. Moreover, the forensic team found that the transcripts CMS released with the videos were frequently erroneous.

"It appears they commit what I would call 'wishful thinking' about what was said," Simpson told reporters Thursday.

So not only were the videos used to attack Planned Parenthood altered, but even the so-called "unedited" versions, which already undermined the premise that Planned Parenthood was selling fetal tissue for a profit, were changed to push forward a false impression.

Color me unsurprised.

And yet THIS is what is being used to once again launch an attack against women's access to legal abortion services, as well as cancer screenings and important information about contraception and STD's.

It's why, if anyone in my family needs an abortion, I will be there to help support her... and I will be armed.

You can't trust those wingers, they're stone killers.

Abortions in Canada or overseas are legal, safe, affordable, and available. They won't welcome your firearm, but your relative can have a medical record free of abortion information. They way things are going in this country, a women running for President 30 years from now will probably have to prove she never had an abortion.

If you follow the logic of the Koch brothers' platform, by getting rid of health education and services for women, then the poor population will die of "natural causes" (STDs, cancers, childbirth complications, etc.), nobody gets their hands dirty. See?

    1. But then where will they get their cheap, disposable labor? Import illegals from Mexico, then deport them before they're paid?

Typical conservative mental disorder: "the ends justify the means". They don't care about the truth, they only care about getting their way.

OT: Bristol just posted another photo on Instagram of the bday/valentine/office trip to Vegas. It's the timeline she wants us to believe she conceived in. Things that make you go hmmm.

Is she still trying to suggest that Dakota is the dad and that's why they got engaged so quickly?

If Dakota is the dad, why hasn't she named him? Why isn't he talking about it?

    2. She better be very careful.

If she tries to pin this on Dakota DNA will be requested of her and the baby. That's the camel's nose to the Palin Empire being exposed and crumbling.

    OT.
On Chris Matthews show they said that Sarah was going to interview the Donald on her show tonight. I hope this doesn't get her much attention with it being a Friday. It's been so nice without any news of her. But knowing Sarah and this being her last show and she will probably do something outrageous to get attention as well as Trump.

Exactly, and we should be encouraging PP to sue. When they call me for donations I will make sure to recommend some of the money go to this suit. Initially, there will be an outlay, but PP will win damages.

    2. They have grounds.

      Loss of revenue.

Also slander or libel. Not sure which applies to a video.

Yep. Everyone should have figured as much...but the far right-wingers won't care or admit it. Remember Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi! We will now be hearing about Fetaltissue, Fetaltissue, Fetaltissue! Same old, same old.

The damage has already been done and it gave the Rethugs another excuse to wage their war.

If they can lie their way into a war in Iraq and Afghanistan, how is "a little editing" of a few videos going to stop the War on Women?

  11. So when is Planned Parenthood going to sue the hell out of the perpetrators? ALL of them, even the parent corporation.

    When?

Because a large and painful judgement is the only way to fight these perverts. You just keep bleeding them. Let them pay their own court costs, your court costs and then give you even more money.

Boy, it would be karma if these freaks ended up funding Planned Parenthood through being on the losing end of litigation.
