GOP candidate Ben Carson accuses President Obama of antisemitism.

Here let me tell you about something else I don;t understand.
Courtesy of Bloomberg:

Ben Carson has a way with words.

In a Sunday interview with Fox News, the Republican presidential candidate doubled down on his assertion that a speech given by President Obama intended to sell the American public on his nuclear deal with Iran contained "coded innuendos employing standard anti-Semitic themes.”

Carson's claim first appeared in an editorial that the retired neurosurgeon published Sunday in the Jerusalem Post, and Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace pressed the candidate to explain what, in particular, he believed to be anti-Semitic about the president's remarks.

"I think anything is anti-semitic that is against the survival of a state that is surrounded by enemies and people who want to destroy them," Carson said. "To act like everything is normal there and that these people are paranoid, I think that's anti-Semitic." Carson added that on a recent trip to Israel, he "couldn't find a single person there who didn't feel that this administration had turned their backs on Israel."

Gee I wonder who Carson was talking to in Israel?

Israel's warmongering prime minister Netanyahu and his staff perhaps?

So to be clear the deal that keeps Iran from developing a nuclear weapon for at least the next ten years, and therefore decreases their ability to threaten Israel, who already has nuclear weapons, makes the President an anti-Semite?

Gee that makes all kinds of sense.

You know just because President Obama does not genuflect at Netanyahu's feet like the Republicans in Congress, does not mean that he is anti-Semite. It simply means that he is well aware that Netanyahu uses the possibility of Iranians getting nuclear weapons to scare his people into keeping him in power and has decided to take actual steps to protect the people of Israel rather than buoy up their Prime Minister's political power base.

By the way would you be surprised to learn that this idiot is now right behind Donald Trump in the most recent Fox News poll? Well he is.

I keep wondering why anyone is so worried about what Netanyahu says. This nuclear agreement is between five major countries acting on behalf of the UN and Iran. Israel is not a party to the agreement. Israel has nuclear weapons. it's just something that Netanyahu doesn't want anyone to know. Israel has also refused to participate in any international nuclear non-proliferation agreements. Ben Carson might not know, but the Israeli leadership does know that the US is not going to abandon her security. At the same time, Israel need to know that it cannot block progress in other parts of the region. Carson probably knows all of this but he's parroting the GOP line. Interesting because I'm willing to bet that these GOP lovers of Israel are pretty anti-semitic in private. It's like Sarah Palin and her necklace - not too convincing really.

It's not that they love Israel so much. It's that Israel is necessary for fundies' end times fantasies (during which, btw, Israel gets royally screwed, but hey! Jesus fans go to heaven).

What people like Carson are really afraid of is normalizing relations with a reliable bogeyman like Iran.

The USA needs to stop providing funds to Israel! They are in good financial shape and they have a leader that openly chants against President Obama and the USA.

I say fuck him and the country he represents!

  2. I am beyond tired of hearing about Israel. I am also tired of hearing from Ben Carson, neither of which make me an anti-semite or racist.

He has never been elected or held any public office, yet he is running second in the polls. This is proof positive the Repub. electorate is irresponsible.

They love it when a token African American claims to be a republican and starts spewing the GOP talking points. It makes them feel like they and their policies aren't racist.

Carson is way out of his depth trying to be President, and he's Christian Taliban.

O/T but this epic take down of the evangelical grifters by John Oliver is fantastic. Also exposes how easy it is to set up your own "church" so you too can be tax free

Ben Carson is a dumb smart person.

He's basically a really great car mechanic. He memorized the parts and where they are supposed to go. He can figure out how to move them around so everything works again. Then everyone calls him a genius. Yes, he is/was a genius neurosurgeon.

Meanwhile, he really thinks the Earth was created 6,000 years ago and he doesn't believe in evolution. And he can't open his mouth without saying something stupid and simplistic.

I've seen and been around very smart people and they typically have no common sense! This guy comes off the cuff and truly says idiotic things - especially where/when it concerns President Obama!

President Obama is far, far superior!

And, I don't think the Republican black guy has a chance at being elected POTUS!

I would call this knucklehead stupid, but it would be insulting to the intelligence of the stupid people. Come to think of it, so is knucklehead! I bet I know what Archie Bunker would call him, but I don't want to put anyone off eating meat.

We need to come up with a category just for him.

This guy is a doctor and appears to be so inept in his commentary! He is the token black guy for the Republican party and indicates absolute baloney when it comes to President Obama.

He'll go nowhere and will never be elected POTUS. The Republicans truly do have a clown car of candidates! Amazing to watch and listen to them!

"Antisemitism" is it's own word, despite the root "semite."

Still, I wish they would just be honest and call it "Jew hating."

Regardless, Pres Obama isn't a Semite hater, or an antisemite, or a Jew hater.

Why are Repubs so ignorant and nasty? This guy, Carson proves that he is just s ignorant and nasty as all the other Repubs.
It is totally irresponsible for him to be running for president in the first place, as he has never help public office. Also it is irresponsible and ignorant that he would call our President anti-semitic, which is a big lie.
NONE of these guys have the charisma, intelligence, and kindness that President Obama possesses.

Anti-Semitism means whatever Jew hate-mongers want it to mean. The meaning conveniently changes to suit whatever Zionist agenda/propaganda they happen to be pushing at the time. Today it means "putting the protection and preservation of your country (e.g. America) ahead of Netanyahu's bloodthirsty murderous designs". See, that makes our President an anti-Semite, according to Zionist lap dogs like Carson.

Let us all remember that Christianity is a middle-eastern religion and that Jesus (if he really existed) would have been a dark-skinned, long-haired, robe-wearing guy. Reportedly, he admonished people to "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Also, I think he is credited with, "Whatsoever you do into the least of your brothers/sisters, you do unto me." This can go on all day........

  13. This is the guy that thinks the Bible, I.e., God's Law, trumps (no pun intended), the U.S. Constituation. He clearly doesn't understand our system of government. Which makes him perfect VP material for Trump. Well, unless Trump decides a skirt will help him more than a black guy. And the Clown Car rolls on.

I can see the day when Retired Brain Surgeon, Benjamin Carson, accuses President Obama of being a racist. It's perfect for the Fox News "Consumer Base" AND the GOP, who pulls Benjamin Carson's strings while Benjamin (coincidence?) Netanyahooooooo uses Both as weapons of mass deception. Netanyahoooooo was educated here, knows how our society works, and uses it to his own advantage, not necessarily Israels. He wrongly believes that the GOP would be a better ally than a Democrat and stuck his proboscis in the GOP's sweet spot because this deal gives Iran billions and billions and billions of dollars blah blah blah, yadda yadda yadda, and the GOP licked it up like nobody's business.
Where's Netanyahu's "beef" with the other nations who forged this fantastic deal? crickets chirping.

I guess President Obama doesn't wear a star of david nor names his dog a Hebraic originated name so that makes him antisemitic?

Fox will flog this dead horse till the cows come home and it won't change the content of President Obama's character nor make him less knowledgeable about the politics of the middle east than "one visit where "Everyone told me....." Carson.

Did people actually TRUST this guy to diddle with their brains?
