Donald Trump and the Republicans have inspired the Latino community to register to vote. Somehow I don't think this is going to help them however.

Courtesy of the Daily Kos:

Republican presidential candidates have been making racist remarks about Latinos in the U.S., and they aren't falling on deaf ears. Those same candidates choosing to skip July's National Council of La Raza conference in Kansas City—which was attended by Democrats Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Martin O'Malley—didn't go unnoticed. Acting as if Latinos don't matter in U.S. elections is not only bad politics, it is the height of political stupidity. Latinos listen.

Latinos are answering the blatant racism and xenophobia with calls for action, and one primary action will be getting people registered to vote and to the ballot box.

I picture at some point the Republican party coming together.

To burn an effigy of Donald Trump.

Assuming of course they are satisfied with just an effigy.

Trump and his kind are a dying breed and we are getting to witness their last gasps...thankfully.

  2. The Republicans have made and nourished their monster. They haven't stood up to Trump yet so they have no one but themselves to blame when all his ugly rhetoric blows up in THEIR face.

  3. Even Republicans are rebelling against the hatred, racism and bigotry.

That's where those Republicans for Bernie Sanders are coming from.

The GOP just doesn't get that choosing a minority and targeting them for hate only brings a small core together. It alienates more than it draws.

It is ugly and indefensible down the road.

You can't spew hatred of Latinos and then later try to recruit their votes.

"Even Republicans are rebelling against the hatred, racism and bigotry."

You are so right! I had dinner the other night with the neighborhood's seriously die-hard republican voter and he openly stated - quite unequivocally clearly - that there wasn't a single republican running he would even consider voting for! We all almost fainted!

So who does he like? BERNIE!

Well, here's to hoping that not only LatinOs but also LatinAs are registering to vote, and that they vote FOR WOMEN'S RIGHTS/ISSUES,(and, of course, immigration rights...) - and thus that they vote for DEMOCRATS!

I live for the day that someone punches that arrogant, lying bastard in the mouth. Or the throat. Or the nose. Or the genitals.
