Sarah Palin attends pro-life rally in Washington, proclaims that the movement gave her the courage to give "birth" to Trig.

Courtesy of Life Site News:

The pro-life movement has convinced an untold number of women to keep their babies. One of those women was Sarah Palin.

Palin told the "Women Betrayed" pro-life event in Washington, D.C., this afternoon that she has never forgotten the day she learned that her youngest son, Trigg, would be born with Down syndrome. She was 12 weeks pregnant at the time - the first trimester.

Palin then went on to attack Planned Parenthood and trot out her Trig Palin birth mythology.

"Of course, the option is there to join the other 85 to 90 percent of moms who are told their babies have Down syndrome and abort their children," because, in her opinion, Planned Parenthood convinces mothers they are inadequate to raise such a child.

That's when she drew upon all the intellectual, and spiritual, reasons she had learned to believe that no child should be aborted for any reason.

"I've always been pro-life, but I've never been asked to walk the walk," she said, emotion rising in her voice.

Tremendous pressure faces every woman "when you're faced with that decision," she said, choking back tears.

She was "choking back tears?" Oh I need to see the footage to believe that!

She credited "God convincing me from day one" that every life has purpose - but she said the pro-life movement helped dispel the nagging voices that tried to justify abortion. She spent time "standing on the message," she said.

'I had to recall all of the rallies, all of the interviews I've seen, all of the ads that run that are pro-life," she said. "That reminded me that - yeah! - we can do it."

"And it's worth it. Yes, absolutely, we can do it."

When Trigg was born, "God changed my heart, and my mind, and my eyes," Palin would confess. "I said, 'Hey, we won! My kid's got more chromosomes than your kid.'"

Well her political career is over, and she is now even being called a clown by the likes of Glenn Beck, but Palin can still take refuge behind her anti-abortion creds.

Of course WE all know, and have proven that her story is all bullshit, but I am not sure we will ever convince these people of that fact.

But I sure intend to keep on trying.

One has to wonder why nobody in the audience asked Palin where Trig was right now?

Or asked her exactly how much time she has spent with the child who "God changed her heart" to care for?

Or even asked her why, if she was so darn tooting pro-life, she bothered having an amniocentesis in the first place?

I really cannot believe how stupid some people are sometimes.

Your last question is right on the money:

First, I've never heard of an amniocentesis performed at 12 weeks.

BUT, if a couple is against abortion for any reason, they would not have an amnio! They would simply wait until the baby was born, and love it, however it came out.

So, she's lying about such an early amnio, and she's giving herself away as a proud pro-lifer when she even hints that there was a doubt in her mind that she wouldn't carry a Down baby full-term.

It's all a lie, but that's the biggest and most obvious lie of all.
She's not pro-life, no matter what. She made a decision, she says, not to have an abortion. That means she also weighed the possibility of having an abortion. She's pro-choice.

from wikipedia: "Amniocentesis is performed between the 15th and 20th week of pregnancy; performing this test earlier may result in fetal injury.[8] The term "early amniocentesis" is sometimes used to describe use of the process between weeks 11 and 13.[9]"

Thus, if she did have the test at 12 weeks, as she claims, there must have been an overriding reason for her to do so. Those who are pro-life don't have amniocentesis procedures, because there's a risk to the fetus. And, most importantly, they will accept whatever baby is born.
Sarah is implying that she might not have accepted her fate and that of her child.

Maybe she was hoping an early amnio would result in miscarriage.

The amnio comment always bothered me being a older mother. When you are AMA they suggest a CVS as it is done earlier than an Amnio. Why would they wait to do an Amnio when they could have done a Harmony or a CVS. It has never added up.

Sarah lies, she lies about everything. Just like when she wrote in one of her books that after one of her miscarriages, the receptionist had "whited-out" and replaced the line on her medical forms that said "spontaneous abortion" and replaced those words with "miscarriage". The medical term for miscarriage IS spontaneous abortion. A medical professional would have never "whited-out" anything on a medical form, period, and Mrs. Palin is too dumb to know that "miscarriage" is not a medical term. She's also too dumb to know that amnios are not performed at 12 weeks, however she just keeps spouting lies and creating her own false history. We know she's lying, many others know she is lying but she just continues to get away with her lies. Frustrating yes, but satisfying to know that she is no longer important enough for any media to pursue this.

9:56 -- just by reading on the internet right now, I see that she must have had a CVS or Harmony test, which can be done earlier than an amnio, and she just doesn't know the difference or doesn't want to explain herself.
The BIG question is why did she have any test at all? If she's pro-life, then there never would be a question of an abortion! What was the question in the mind of her doctor to recommend a test?

And, if the doctor said, "The ultrasound shows some abnormality, so I recommend a CVS or Harmony test to see if there is an extra chromosome, then Sarah, Mrs. Pro-Life, would have said, "I don't need or want a test because my gift from God will be perfect, no matter what!"

The missing part of the puzzling equation is that Mrs Palin was not pregnant with Trigger so everything in her 'fable' is her usual big fat freaking lie!!! The gullible Betrayed group hangs on her every word because their 'efforts' are not any more sincere than Palin's. They didn't check one fact about this evil bitch before they gladly put their 'credibility' into her hands for a photo op publicity stunt.

Exactly, 9:05. I am pro-choice, yet I refused amnio because of the risks. My sister-in-law, who is adamantly pro-life, had the amnio so she could "be prepared" if anything was wrong. I never understood that one...

Of course not, 10:57. But all these other things (the early test, the failure to get checked out when leaking amniotic fluid, etc.) makes you wonder how people can be so fucking stupid to believe she was pregnant.

    15. Anonymous11:44 AM

I remember when I was pregnant they gave me the option of amnio also. (We had some genetic concerns). However, when they told me that one possible side effect would be that I could lose the baby or that the baby could be damaged if hit by the needle, it was a resounding NO for us. We are not religious freaks or whatever, but we did not want to potentially harm our baby.
Turns out, she was born healthy and w/o any birth defects.

I can tell you that the Harmony test has only been available for about 2 1/2 years. It has been on the market since early 2013, so would not have been available to Palin is she were truly pregnant in what was it - 2007 - 2008? (She was not).
Amnio is not done at 12 weeks, there isn't enough amniotic fluid, too much risk. The appropriate test at that gestational age would have been a CVS (chorionic villus sampling), but I don't believe she has ever mentioned that, has she?
Easy enough to show us the lab result on paper, right? The letter from her Maternal Fetal Medicine (who would have done the test) doctor, right? ........crickets. Classic scam you know, she knows enough about it to spout off some words that she thinks fit the situation, but doesn't know enough to realize how ignorant she sounds to an actual professional. I've been a Certified Nurse-Midwife for 20 years. I can assure you beyond any doubt that my professional opinion is that she did not give birth to that baby.

I never thought of that - the 26 hours of 'labor' with her FIFTH child! As far as I know, the more children you bear, the faster they come out, because your 'nether region' has been stretched by the previous births. My neighbor had her third child, and did not make it to the hospital in time from first contraction to delivery! The baby came within 20 minutes! Another friend of ours had her third one within an hour.

I hate, hate, hate to be so superficial, but, really Sarah! The other women in the crowd appear to be well-groomed, even if they're in slacks and t-shirts. Some are wearing dresses.

Even in my local Wal-Mart, Dollar General store, or Good Will, I've never, ever seen a top like yours, with ruffles on the cut-out shoulders, in a black that looks like it's been washed too many times, plus cargo capris (?) that are just tragic. Your choice of footwear goes without mention, since no one on the planet has ever been seen wearing them anywhere but on your feet. You must have had them custom made for your costume.

We'll let it go at that, Sarah. If, after seven years on the national stage, you haven't picked up even a few hints about style and color, then there's no hope.

If you'd worn the pink dress of the woman standing to your left in the first photo, you'd be a knock-out, and your appearance would be all the more memorable. As it is, my cleaning woman wears nicer things when she comes to mop my kitchen floor -- and that's the impression you'll leave with anyone who saw you there, or will see pictures of you at the event. You brought it down to your level, and they won't be thanking you for it.

I beg to differ that feeling "inadequate to raise a Downs child" is why a woman like me would abort it. It's entirely a question of "what kind of a life does a Downs grown-up have, esp after the death of the parent(s)." Esp if there is not a trust fund guaranteed for that grown-up child.

My grandparents had a daughter who had grand mal epilepsy, long before there were any workable treatments for it. From her age of two, until they entered a nursing home when they were in their 80s, she lived with them and all I can say is that they were saints. Her doctor told them that. She made their life hell. They never gave up on her; they were devout Episcopalians who were guiding themselves with prayer and any medical help they could find. But it made their lives beholden to her fits, her angers, her rages. They would never have considered abortion, back in the '20s, even if it were available. But they also had a daughter with polio, in the midst of the Depression, who was hospitalized for a year.
The entire family must be looked at when these decisions are made. Prayer, in the case of my sainted grandparents, just didn't work.

It's that time of year when the young adults start college.
How much are you spending or borrowing to pay your child's tuition?

The special needs kids in my district can receive 3 or 4 years of post high school education and a car and driver pick them up and take them home, The cost per year, per student is $15,500 and tax payer funded. The cost is over $20,000 per year in many districts. I hope that these students will prosper from their education.

Is this some of that free stuff that Sarah is always bitching about?

Full day kindergarten costs $3000 extra for the average kid. And, if they live less than 2.5 miles for school, bus service is not free. Something like $800 per year. Pull up, and stop, repeat, pull up and stop, and drop twice per day for the parent to drive their kids to school. And, this just gets them started for the next twelve years.

I'm not sure why this pisses me off but it does. I live in Kansas and the Gov has cut funding for the schools. But we are basically giving the special needs kids the price of a college education at KU. Now, isn't that special?

The lace on the cut-out sleeves reminds of her recent use of a faux fur collar over a sportjacket when she was leaving Alaska.

Sarah Palin participating in these totally bullshit manufactured attacks against Planned Parenthood is another major mistake on her part.

There are many PP supporters who have either never heard much about the babygates, or have purposefully ignored babygates. (Some heads will explode as people realize there is more than one Palin babygate!)

Sarah's participation in the "Acorning" of PP is the one and only thing she could do to convince most of these people to go back and take a careful look at babygate.

It's not 2008 or 2009 when some still took the Palins seriously. It is 2015 and both Sarah and her "abstinence advocate" daughter are now fully exposed as public assklowns and grifters.

So will it be Glen Beck bringing up babygate? Or maybe someone else looking for a ratings bump.

    Please proceed.

This was in a local paper this weekend:
Importantly, the conventional social dynamics around abortion are completely reversed. Among the families of people with disabilities, you'll find ardent pro-choice advocates (like my wife and me) who choose not to abort. And with a vast majority of diagnoses ending in abortion, you’re likely to find many strident pro-life conservatives opting for abortion in the face of such challenges.

This doesn’t mean these people are hypocrites. Rather, it shows how tricky the issue is. In a typical pregnancy, women who choose to have an abortion are often saddled with shame and social stigma, even from friends, relatives and the broader public. Meanwhile, despite recent strides, there remains significant stigma associated with being the parent of a child with special needs.

In the end, my wife and I chose to have Sophia. We had to fight for her in the face of widespread medical and societal pressures to terminate. And that was our choice.

The Ohio bill would do away with that choice, forcing everyone placed in that unenviable situation to carry to term a child with developmental disabilities, regardless of their willingness and ability to love and care for that child once it is born.

This is such hypocrisy on her part. If a woman is a born-again christian (in most instances), as Sarah Palin proclaims to be, and was way back then, WHY would she even entertain the thought of an abortion? Why would she panic? That audience must have seen the contradiction in her mythology.

She's too dumb to know these women are pro-life all the way, no ands ifs or buts. An abortion for even a special needs child would NEVER be considered. Their movement is to help those scared and alone make decisions. Why would Sarah Heath Palin (who campaigned on a pro-life platform) have any times of doubt? Her platform stance is not convincing, as many in her place and in poverty, would have still accepted the child, no matter what. I grew up in a Catholic community, and many women there would sacrifice their jobs, careers and prepared themselves for the afflicted baby's coming. No mother, who claims she was pro-life, Christian, and a supporter of life at any cost would even consider having an abortion, or even admit it, if that were the case.

Sarah is pandering to this crowd, but, she's pretending she was a victim, rather than putting the focus on the child. The child is the one who could easily be the victim of bullying at school, and having physical challenges that he/she alone has to deal with. It's very rough for the mother, but it's equally as rough for the child. Millions of moms have kept their babies despite what they knew they were up against, and millions didn't get PAID to speak about it, nor millions didn't even have the means or the money to pay for special treatments and physio. Sarah, the MILLIONNAIRE can shed her fake tears and pretend it was such a painful time, even though her husband was making good money; she could have resigned as governor...........she eventually did anyway. But, she resigned ONLY when it was convenient to her selfish reasons, not when it would benefit her down syndrome baby's needs when he was a newborn.

She is full of BS. And anyway, we all know she didn't birth that child. Still, the reasoning and fish story she gives these pro-life groups obviously has so many holes in it. They must see how fake it is.

Making good money? How about making a lot of money? The Palins own a Bristol Bay fishing site which can on a good year bring in $250,000. And they barely fish it anymore they are so well off and Sarah hates going out there. Imagine their income when Trig was born: Todd made easily $125,000 annually on the slope and Sarah was making at least $200,000 as gov. Add in the site. The Palins are very well off, if not downright wealthy. Look how quick Todd unladed that slope job. Trig will never want.

She is amazingly good at deflection and changing the subject has always worked for her. An example is how she leaked her "medical records" at the last minute during the VP race and the half-assed way her doctor "presented" the record in a letter. I do not believe her physician wrote that letter to this day. No self respecting professional would have done such a ridiculously unprofessional job. I mean how often is a physician asked to write such an important letter? Really? How often? It would have been an honor for most physicians, but the letter looked poorly considered, rushed and full of deflection.

Aside from the Alaskan enemies Frank Murkowski made as governor, he made some very powerful enemies by going after the Jack Abramoff crew. Start near the bottom of this DKOS diary.

      http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/09/01/581800/-Abramoff-McCain-Palin-Corruption-the-GOP-update

"A conservative wave carried Palin to victory in a hotly contested Republican Primary. Signals went out from Washington to ditch Murkowski and go with the young fundamentalist Mayor.

      Murkowski was soundly defeated.

Now perhaps Frank Murkowski was a jerk as Governor. I do not know. But I do know that Frank Murkowski was the only Republican willing to take on Jack Abramoff when Jack was at the top of his power. Murkowski may have been arrogant as Governor, but as a Senator he was the only Republican willing to stand up for the workers and victims of abuse on the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. He was the only Republican to be outraged by the labor abuse, human trafficking and the forced abortions protected by Abramoff, DeLay and their allies in Congress—weasels like Congressman Don Young of Alaska.

A July 2000 article in the Anchorage Daily News (Alaska allies at odds over U.S. Islands abuse) told the story of Murkowski’s heroic effort to do the right thing and face down the corruptionists in his Party:

When Alaska Sen. Frank Murkowski traveled to the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands four years ago to investigate alleged human rights abuses, he found what he was looking for. Speaking on the Senate floor a year later, Murkowski said he ''visited a garment factory and talked with some Bangladesh workers who had not been paid and who were living in appalling conditions.''

At a more recent hearing before the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee that he chairs, Murkowski heard from a young woman who had been taken to Saipan as a minor and was forced into prostitution.

''This was occurring under the U.S. flag and supposedly with the protection all U.S. citizens enjoy under our Constitution,'' Murkowski said in his Senate speech.

Based on this evidence and more, Murkowski pushed legislation through the Senate in February to correct some of the conditions in the Mariana Islands that many people believe have turned the island territory into a haven for foreign sweatshops that ship more than $1 billion worth of duty-free clothing to U.S. stores.

Murkowski's bill sailed through his committee and was unanimously approved by the Senate. There was not one dissenting vote along the way. But there it died, stopped cold in the House by his Republican colleague Alaska Rep. Don Young, chairman of the House Resources Committee.

      Why?

Young said he simply doesn't believe such abuses have taken place.

''I'm not going to move anything,'' Young said of Murkowski's bill."

I seriously doubt that any doctor or ultrasound clinic would do amniocentesis at 12 weeks, because you don't get good results. Instead, she would have probably been offered chorionic villus sampling, which has a higher chance of causing a miscarriage than amniocentesis does. I find it very unbelievable that a woman who was not open to the idea of abortion of a fetus with a birth defect would ever even consider chorionic villus sampling. My pro-life friends who have a severe birth defect that runs in their family, would never even get an ultrasound until the 8th month of pregnancy, and it was only so they would have a head's up on having to do extra preparation for caring for a severely deformed baby. You would think that she would have at least researched amniocentesis, etc. before she made these statements. I'm not sure if SP gave birth to a Down Syndrome child or not, but there are definitely some very hinky parts of her "birth story"!

She needs to be stopped. I blame her a lot for stirring up the racist pot and pandering to the mouth breathing Fox viewers that think she's all that and a slice of bread, it's time for her to take the final fall into obscurity. There has to be to be a way.

Are you really that stupid to think after all this time Palin can be beat? She won, she will never be 'taken down'. She is little more than a lower tier celebrity ex politician now anyways so it really doesn't matter.

Your statement that 'the rest of the world' wants her to shut up is also absurd. Many people like her being out there doing what she is doing, so you are just plain wrong all over the place.

To summarize: Palin won. She is never getting 'taken down'. Lots of people still like her. And you are wrong and not smart.

O/T Update on the teabaggers that wanted to have his aide "blackmail him" about gay sex to hide his affair scandal.

Good riddance to both of them, love how Mr. Family Values only resigned because the democrats were going to get him. We have a republican majority in the legislature and scumbag puts the blame on the dems. I want to know if they have to pay back any of my taxpayer money.

    ---------------
Teabagger Resigns, Girlfriend Expelled In Michigan House Scandal

If there's one thing you can say about Republican sex scandals, they're always more cinematic than Democrats. I can just see the made-for-TV movie now:

LANSING, MI — Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat, embattled lawmakers accused of misconduct and misusing taxpayer resources to hide their extra-marital affair, are no longer representatives in the Michigan House.

Courser, R-Lapeer, resigned at 3:12 a.m. on Friday as the House prepared for a third vote on a resolution to expel him from office.

One hour later, the House voted 91-12 to expel Gamrat, R-Plainwell, making her just the fourth lawmaker ever to be removed from the Michigan Legislature by her peers.

Gamrat was immediately escorted from the chambers, and then the state Capitol, by House sergeants. She declined to speak with the media.

Courser, who spoke with reporters after turning in his resignation letter to the House clerk and walking off the floor, said it simply felt like the appropriate moment to step down. He was convinced the GOP majority was going to find enough Democratic votes to expel him.

"It's an unfortunate chapter, where we're at, obviously for the state House, for the state, for the Legislature, for my own family," Courser said. "It's time to turn a page and take a step forward and go in a different direction, obviously heal some stuff in my own house, and this House and this body can heal a little bit more as well."

The House Business Office, which launched an investigation last month at the request of Speaker Kevin Cotter, R-Mt. Pleasant, had accused both Courser and Gamrat of "deceptive, deceitful, and outright dishonest conduct."

The freshman lawmakers "abused their offices," according to an 833-page report made public this week. They directed staff to facilitate their affair, and they also blurred lines between official and political work, a potential violation of Michigan campaign finance rules.

Although I know that AIP Palin did not give birth to Trig, I have never understood why she chose to tell such an outlandish story about his birth that only highlights poor choices, dangerous decisions and showed bad judgment that only endangered others and her unborn, premature child. To believe that story, not only would you have to be an idiot, but you would have to view Palin as an idiot as well. Either that, or she was a woman who was taking unnecessary risks with her unborn child's life, in hopes that he would not survive.

The tale of Trig is necessary to feed Sarah Palin's narcissism. Everything that happens to a narcissist has to be distorted so even more glory washes over their precious selves.

Almost everything Sarah Palin says is make her feel that all people are astounded and awed by her amazing self.

A narcissist can not be any other way. They are born with a defective personality. It can not be fixed.

The outlandish fake pregnancy may have been to cover up for Bristol or for Todd. Anymore I don't really care why she did it. What I want is for the fraud to be completely exposed so that the general public everywhere knows how deceitful she really is. I want her supporters to know that they have been sending money to a charlatan.

Let's face it. Sarah Palin cannot even use the excuse that she was better able to provide a good life for Trig since we all know, because she has admitted it, that Trig has not received the continual therapies that should have started shortly after his birth.

The lack of a conscience explains it. Sarah is incapable of feeling shame. The lies come effortlessly and are in fact the essential 'weave' of her 'reality'. All that matters is winning and self aggrandizement. You even see that mindset in her defenders. Truth and reality are unimportant. Sarah attracts defenders who have the same type of enormously defective personalities.

"....if she was so darn tooting pro-life, she bothered having an amniocentesis in the first place?" this is a question I asked at the time.. and never got an answer Amnio's are not w/o risk. If you're hell bent to continue a pregnancy, why jeopardize it w/ a diagnostic test?? Thank god millenials have their heads screwed on straight, and reject this b.s.

You're quite right; the amnio test can cause miscarriage. The Wasilla Wendigo claims to have had 2 miscarriages already--it would be stupid to do the test (8 weeks too early, at that!) when she wouldn't abort based on the results.

    2. Anonymous4:23 PM

One of the worst parts of all of this has been watching Palin screw over and screw up her children. Throwing Bristol under the bus in the first place to try to dismiss the rumors about Trig (as opposed to, oh, idk, produced a f*cking birth certificate)...shamelessly exploiting Track...using a disabled baby as a prop while failing to provide for his needs...using Piper as a shield. Not to mention the darker possibility that a fragile baby was born & died due to general Palin family dysfunction. And now we watch Bristol doing her best to screw up the next generation, although at least Tripp has his daddy and Sunny. The whole thing is so d@mned sad, and sickening. One reason I respect Willow is that she's been the only one who has demonstrated the wherewithal to maybe find her way out of the Palin vortex. And I guess there's still time for Piper to find her way as well. Hard to imagine, though, what it's been like for those kids.
