So true.

Okay well the graphic's a few days out of date now, but it still makes a very valid point.

When was the last time that you heard anybody EVER arguing for something to be named, or remain  named, after freaking William McKinley?

I swear that if President Obama gets up tomorrow, takes a deep breath, and declares that oxygen is the greatest thing ever, every Republican in the country will suddenly refuse to breath.

Hey....might be worth a try.

Or is that just mean?

Personally, I think the President should issue a proclamation declaring September 7 to be National "Don't Drink Battery Acid Day."

Sarah Palin, It’s Time To Have The ‘Denali’ Talk With Your Dumbass Daughter Bristol
"FUCKING HELL, this is getting ridiculous. Monday, we reported how Barack Obama went behind the backs of Jesus, the Statue of Liberty, Allah and Ohio Republicans by designating the tallest mountain in North America, located in Alaska, as “Denali,” a name it has ALWAYS HAD. It was only called Mt. McKinley there for a little while because this one time a prospector called it that, in the 19th century, because William McKinley was running for president, and he figured “Hey why not?”"

    No, not mean.
They've been acting like two years old since our president was elected. They might as well hold their breath like a toddler in a tantrum.
At the very least they'll pass out a be quiet for a bit. At the best. they die!

You know, we never heard of this wretched Palin family and their venom filled hearts, before a Black man ran and won the presidency. They hate the air our first family breaths. Their hatred for this man and his family is so over the top it is morbid.
Sarah Palin has done a disservice to her children, she has taught them how to hate. She has taught them how to me mean-spirited, and nasty.

No, not mean. If that were followed immediately by Michelle saying the same thing, millions of Republicans would drop dead in 15 minutes. The intelligence rate of the country would shoot skyward.

All POTUS has to do is make a statement about how wonderful it is to have so many things named after Reagan.

Poor poor poor entitled republicans today. All the dung right in their face. Americans do not have to say much. History just keeps getting corrected, exposed, and brilliantly changed for the better in this new chapter in American Justice and History.

This gives me hope that some of the things renamed after Reagan will be named back to their original names.

  9. I grew up in Ohio. Several elementary schools in my home town were named after presidents, including President McKinley.

Recently, McKinley School was torn down to make room for a townhouse development.

From everything I have heard from friends and family in Ohio, nobody in Ohio gives the tiniest shit about Denali except the buffoonish teabagger politicians looking for their headline moment and campaign news bite, and their idiot drooling 'bagger base.

You might be on to something, Gryphen.

Many observers attribute the decline in basic hygiene among severe conservative angry older white people to reports that Barack HUSSEIN Obama bathes daily. The reasoning goes: if the African-borne muslin socialiast usurper does it, it HAS to be bad. Some tee potty patriots even stopped bathing Inauguration Day 2009 and have vowed not to bathe again until St. Reagan rises from the dead.

Sure, it stinks, but what can you do, eh?

I live very near McKinleys grave/Museum. I have never been there..and don't ever plan to go. I wonder how many of those politicians trying to get creds with the right wing vote have ever visited. You would think it would have been in our newspaper if so, as they would want the publicity.
A recent interview with students at McKinley High School showed that many of them knew next to nothing about who he was and really could not care less about him.
    Fake outrage.

Watched a show about the robber barons who monopolized oil, steel and railroads at the turn of the century. He was a schill placed into office to further their business interests. (money buys politicians and elections) Their plans were thwarted when Teddy Roosevelt took over and started to break up the trusts. Charma

Bristol thinks Mt. McKinnley was named after her cousin and this is just another case of Obama going after her family. Bristol is an idiot.

Great idea about the oxygen, besides I don't think oxygen was ever mentioned in the bible, so it must be something the liburals made up.

"Hey, it's important that a mountain in Alaska be named after an American president and not given a native Alaskan name"

.......said no conservative anywhere before several days ago!

I'm a conservative, but I have to admit that I find this photo and it's captions hilarious. I'm a New Yorker, so this "what to name the mountain" issue isn't my fight. But if the mountain had been called Denali for hundreds of years, I would think that respect for tradition makes a good case for changing its name back to Denali. Don't conservatives love tradition? We have more important things to think about - like how to prevent Bristol from becoming pregnant again after she delivers this upcoming baby. I say that the Palins should insist that she get Norplant or an IUD or some kind of contraceptive that doesn't need to be tended to every day - so there can be no "I forgot to take my pill" or "the condom broke" accidents in the future. A family member could mark in her calendar to take Bristol to the doctor for the contraceptive implant/insertion. Bristol agrees to this and signs a statement saying that she will not have the contraception removed or do anything to nullify it's effects. If she refuses to cooperate, her family cuts her off from contact. They can continue financial support, and she can let the children visit, but SHE herself gets no family contact. I can't figure out whey Todd and Sarah didn't do this after Tripp was born.

  17. Many of us were raised to believe that while we may disagree with another's opinion, we should still respect that person and their right to that opinion.

I am long past that. You knew with a certainty republicans would come out against making the name Denali official. Why? Because you can't be republican and support anything Obama is for. No matter that you might offend other races, cultures, religions, you must be against it.

Bigotry, nastiness, hate and everything that goes with them are choices. I don't respect the opinion or the person expressing them.

The house that McKinley died in in Buffalo, NY was torn down many years ago to expand a school on its grounds. Not a whimper out of anyone when it happened as I recall. Acknowledging Denali's original name by the Obama Administration was the right thing to do.

Everything "official" about Obama is a fraud. His Daddy, his name, his place of birth. The only thing real about him is his Muslim religion, his man lust, and his complete ability to fool stupid, white guilt laden liberals.

I don't think it's mean in any way. We all have seen how, every step of the way, the GOP have tried every trick in the book to block anything President Obama has put forth. In the grand scheme of things, what difference does the name change make, except restoring it to the name it's always been called? They're making an anthill out of a majestic mountain. Really wanna blow their fuses? Name the mountain after Harvey Milk...... oh noes "Armageddon can't come too soon" (H/T to Nancy, playing Bristol Palin, failure daughter of failed VP pick and quitter Sarah Palin, on a patheo's blog about horses in pastures rubbing their baby bumps)

"She is a 24 year old ADULT. her parents really have no business in her reproductive health decisions"

Normally I would agree with you. But Bristol is very much in need of help here. Her behavior is just not normal. And she seems devoid of any dignity. It seems that Bristol doesn't have a real job and is essentially supported by her mother. Then all the more reason why Sarah has the right to demand better behavior from her daughter. But even if she weren't what about fairness to Bristol's children? At the rate Bristol is going there will be at least 3 more babies before she's 43. And truthfully, I'd like to see the Palin family stop embarrassing conservatism. We can't endlessly let human weakness and "our sinful nature" be excuses to let people act selfish and reckless and then claim all is OK because "God is merciful." Moral reform, like charity, needs to begin at home.
