This is what awaits Kim Davis when she returns to work on Monday.

Courtesy of HuffPo:

Non-profit organization Planting Peace just erected the above billboard in Davis' hometown of Morehead, Kentucky. The message is plain and simple -- if Davis is going to use Biblical rhetoric to justify her opposition to same-sex marriage, she might want to take a closer look at how else marriage has been redefined in relation to the book's sacred teachings.

"The intent of this billboard is to expose how the anti-LGBT movement is selective in what rules to follow and how they choose to define 'traditional' institutions or values," Aaron Jackson, president of Planting Peace, told The Huffington Post. "It's important and relevant to call this out, because the actions of Kim Davis and the messages from the anti-LGBTQ movement are not simply about a political or religious debate. There are LGBT youth across the world who are taking their lives at an alarming rate because of these messages from society that make them feel broken or less than. We have to meet hate with love, intolerance with compassion. Our message to our LGBT youth is simple: You are loved, valued, supported, and beautiful. There is nothing wrong with you, and we will stand by you. You are not alone."

By the way I have a source in Kentucky that is telling me that we all need to really pay attention to Kentucky when Davis returns to her job on Monday.

There is some trouble a brewing.

The problem is, she's too dumb to get what it means. I'd say maybe her lawyers could explain it to her, but they want to keep her dumb so they can keep rolling in the dough.

I agree with you, 3:03. She is too stubbornly and willfully dumb to realize what she's done. Combine that with her Christian persecution complex and you have someone who's to pigheaded to see how she is making a jackass of herself.

    2. I was just about to write the same thing. I don't know if she's naturally dumb or willfully dumb, but she's dumb. The problem is she's also in a position of power.

  3. I read this last night, it's excellent, then smiled imagining Davis's chinless, cross-waving acolytes trying to plow their way through it.

  7. Yeah, Oath Keepers are on the way. They want, and I hope will get, an armed confrontation with authorities. I can only hope the cops see someone going for their waist, or in whatever way make the cops "fear for their life/safety. I want to see these Oath Keepers laid to waste.

As the sister of a cop who works in a county with a lot of sovereign citizen groups, this makes me terribly afraid for the police in Kentucky. I hope casualties are limited to the Oath Keepers.

Of course, if any Oath Keepers are seriously injured or killed, we'll start seeing #whitelivesmatter. Because, you know, a black kid who once shoplifted candy has no right to walk down the street in any way that might conceivably be perceived by anyone as remotely threatening, but white terrorists who pack up their assault rifles and head to another state to stir up trouble -- well, they're protected by the Constitution, dammit. /s

Oh to hell with dim kim & slow joe.
That county needs a federal investigation. How does a county of 23000 people (if that is correct) pay a county clerk over 80,000. And there are six other clerks? In the fifth from the bottom poorest state?

People of Kentucky, what the hell is wrong with.......nevermind!

Does this woman have any sort of education? A college degree or even a high school diploma? I haven't read any mention of any qualifications she has for the job, other than having more cousins and step-relations in the county than the other yokels running for the position.

    2. She ran November 2014 and took her oath of office January 2015. It's not like this was a big surprise.

She's been a deputy clerk for years. I'm sure the office has been talking about this and the repercussions.

The billboard lacks the biblical citation.

Kimmy won't undeerstand and her preacherman probably won't tell her, because then he might have to tell her about all the OTHER definitions of marriage in the bronze age.

One of her clerks has declared that he will continue to grant licenses to LGBT couples. Davis has appealed and wants a stay so that none of her clerks can do so.

If she fires him, for doing his job, can he claim religious discrimination?

If she interferes with the clerks issuing licenses the judge will have her thrown back into jail.

Does Kim want more definitions of marriage in the New Testament? Paul writes, "I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, it is good for them if they abide even as I (Paul was single). But if they cannot contain, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn. And unto the married, I command, yet not I, but the Lord, "Let not the wife depart from her husband; But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband; and let not the husband put away his wife."

1Cor. 739: "The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord."

Notice the last words of the verse, "Only in the Lord". To me, this means that when these early Christians married (and following Christian generations) it had and has to be done in the presence of God, with witnesses, with prayers to God to unify and bless the marriage, due to their being "In Him".

Issuing licenses to all kinds of couples, secular, other religion, atheist, or alternative lifestyle, gives freedom them the freedom to choose the options they have with their marriage vows;most do not marry in the spirit of the New Testament. A civic marriage is done by the Justice of the Peace; a couple in Las Vegas can go to a non-denomination chapel. Christ may not be their lifeline. Secular couples do not have a pastor officiate and pray to God to bless their marriage. The couple will find other ways to commit, with vows of their own choosing, without God in the mix. Therefore, Kim Davis is actually issuing marriage licenses to these groups. She is sending couples off to a justice of the peace, or a civil marriage. Is Kim Davis' CONSCIENCE fine with that? She refuses gay/lesbian, yet, in her legalistic mind, has no problem with having the couple du jour go off to a pagan wedding, with her signature on it?

IMO, many couples want to be legally married for tax benefits and of course want to be a loving couple. They aren't seeking a religious marriage, with God as the Head, and a priest acting as advocate/witness. The secular couples just want to be together. And it would be interesting how many of these marriage licenses KD issued to such as these? Was her conscience seared then?

This who saga is one big act of bigotry toward one group.

I'm starting to suspect Paul's misogyny is Oedipus-related.

The Christians let a woman-hater define their idea of marriage.

  17. She and her lawyers have asked for a stay until all the lawsuits are over.

    Not going to happen.

So this is what I think is going to happen.

This dumb phuk is going to arrive on Monday and despite the judge's admonishments is going to order her deputies to cease and desist issuing all licenses.

At least one deputy is going to defy her and keep going.

    Hilarity ensues.

Davis will end up in jail for contempt again.

Deputy may or may not sue her due to harassment, illegal termination, assault or whatever the nutjob reaction du jour of the Talibangelicals will be.

Davis will not only be in jail for longer than the a weekend she is going to get a big honkin' fine to boot. If the judge releases her again she'll either have a monitor and be restricted to her house or there will be an injunction forbidding her from going within 1000 yards of her place of employment.

This judge will NOT be happy with her if she defies him again.

She is still refusing to sign the Marriage Licenses!!
So the regular clerks are just signing them themselves.

That part of KY is in a really redneck/bigoted/racist part of the State.
