Now with people actually looking forward to it Trump pushes back date for his "fake news awards."

The Fake News Awards, those going to the most corrupt & biased of the Mainstream Media, will be presented to the losers on Wednesday, January 17th, rather than this coming Monday. The interest in, and importance of, these awards is far greater than anyone could have anticipated!

Trump announced last week that he would present “The Most Dishonest & Corrupt Media Awards” on Monday to highlight reporters who run with what he calls "fake news." 

Celebrity chef Jose Andres offered a free lunch at any of his popular restaurants to winners, and the watchdog group American Oversight planned to hand out “Most Dishonest and Corrupt” awards to Trump administration officials on Monday as a response to Trump's plans.

Some folks got themselves a little excited about the possibility of being singled out for one of these "honors."

For instance The Daily Show took out a full page ad in the New York Times.

Now I am a little torn over all of this.

On the one hand these comedians have given Donald Trump positive attention, and clearly he is excited about stringing them along now. 

But on the other hand if he focuses on putting together another reality show like this, he will be too distracted to keep tearing down the country.

Yep, that's a conundrum alright.

The Satanic Temple masterfully trolls Christians in Texas.

The Satanic Temple is known for their masterful trolling of Christians. This time they’re going after “sadists” in Three Rivers, Texas. Why? Because last summer, the city’s public school district voted to allow paddling as a form of punishment for children. 

Now Temple spokesman Lucien Greaves says that school administrators who think hitting kids is okay need to be replaced, and that sentiment was reflected in a billboard put up by the Temple in Three Rivers. 

The billboard reads: “Our Religion Doesn’t Believe in Hitting Children.” 

“Hopefully, our billboard will give pause to passersby who will be forced to confront the fact that the school district is being operated by depraved and ignorant sadists who have no business being in education,” Greaves said, according to Patheos. “The billboard should be a wakeup call that the school district trustees, who voted 6 – 0 for corporal punishment, need to be replaced by competent and humane members of the community who have children’s best interests at heart.”

One of the Satanic Temple's tenets is that no one is allowed to cause bodily harm to another, which would already make them morally superior to fundamentalist Christians. 

Anti-Trump group turning up the heat on Mitch McConnell in his home state.

An anti-Trump group that says it's "sick" of Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell dodging its emails, phone calls and social media posts now has a plan it says is too big for him to ignore. 

Indivisible Kentucky has purchased two billboards of the Senate majority leader's face on northbound Interstate 65 in Louisville emblazoned with the phrases "You make us sick" and "We've had enough." 

The signs, placed near Cardinal Boulevard and St. Catherine on I-65 N, cost the group more than $10,000. A spokeswoman for Indivisible Kentucky said the funds were raised by the group as well as an anonymous benefactor. One is scheduled to debut this week and the other sometime next week.

If McConnell thinks that he can just hold off for awhile and then get Trumpcare passed while nobody is paying attention, I don't think he clearly understands how focused the American people are in preventing that. 

Perhaps McConnell should focus less on getting a bill that nobody seems to want passed through the Senate and focus more on fighting to retain his seat.

It appears that might be in jeopardy.

Donald Trump summed up in one photo.

This picture was taken in Mumbai, where Trump was advertising the building of yet another gaudy edifice with his name attached in giant letters for all of the lesser people to admire.

The picture started to circulate early last month and in response a number of folks did not believe it to be real.

However Snopes was contacted by the photographer who confirmed its authenticity.

Shoving his immense wealth in the faces of those who are barely surviving each day.

Yeah, that's our president elect alright.

It's always nice when the old gods give a shout out to the new kids on the block, don't you think?

And just imagine if their worshipers had never existed Christians would have had to invent all of their celebrations from scratch.

So much easier to steal other people's hard work than to do it all yourself.

The billboard going up Monday on North West Street at first glance looks like a church advertising for new members. 

The background is a heavenly blue sky with wispy clouds and the words "Don't believe in God?" A pair of hands on one side holds a sign "You're not alone!" It directs people to the website cnyhumanists.org. 

The billboard is an outreach to the community, said Corrina Allen, president of the CNY Humanist Association. 

"We want to let people in the area to know that if they're not religious, and they don't believe in God, they are not alone and there is a community available to them," she said.

It is really hard to explain how important it is to know that you are not alone when you first start questioning the existence of God.

The thing that churches, and temples, and synagogues do so well is to create a sense of community and to provide a comfortable environment for those who believe as they do.

But when you start to question the religious beliefs prominent in your community, you quickly feel the chill of being ostracized and seen as different, and even as a threat.

I remember the first time I felt that as a very young boy, around eight or nine years of age.

I started talking on the playground about there being no god, or Easter Bunny, or Santa Claus. And while the Santa Claus part really upset my peers, it was the part about god that convinced the teaching staff to have me stay inside and do other activities instead of being outside with the other students.

I learned fairly quickly to keep my questions and musings to myself and after awhile I was allowed to play on the monkey bars and swing on the swings just like my religiously indoctrinated peer group.

But the feeling of isolation is real, and feeling left out and different definitely shapes how you see the world, and how you see your place in it.

Worst case scenario it helps to turn you into a blogger who doggedly chases down stories that nobody else will dare to touch.

This went up only five minutes away from the Republican convention starting tomorrow.

Republican National Convention-goers are in for a big surprise. 

Planting Peace, the nonprofit organization behind The Equality House, a rainbow-colored house that sits across the street from Westboro Baptist Church, is calling out Donald Trump and the Republican Party in a massive billboard that went up on Thursday in Cleveland, Ohio, where the RNC will take place next week. The billboard, below, shows an illustration of Trump poised to kiss Ted Cruz beside a caption that reads “Love trumps Hate. End homophobia.”

I would pay big money to see Ted Cruz's face the minute that he sees this billboard. 

This whole next week is going to be incredibly entertaining.

The giant ad for WhereWhitePeopleMeet.com, between 5600 W. and 7200 S., is turning heads and leaving residents with many unanswered questions. 

A FOX 13 viewer who wanted to remain anonymous voiced concerns about the dating service that, according to its website, has a main office in North Salt Lake. 

Several Utahns spoke with FOX 13 News about their take on the billboard. 

“I just don’t think it’s the way to teach our kids to love all when you see billboards like that," Kim Gilbert said. 

Michelle Dessau said she thinks the billboard represents exclusionary views. 

“I just feel we should be past that whole mindset of staying within our own race and segregation pretty much," Dessau said.

Well it IS Utah after all.

Non-profit organization Planting Peace just erected the above billboard in Davis' hometown of Morehead, Kentucky. The message is plain and simple -- if Davis is going to use Biblical rhetoric to justify her opposition to same-sex marriage, she might want to take a closer look at how else marriage has been redefined in relation to the book's sacred teachings. 

"The intent of this billboard is to expose how the anti-LGBT movement is selective in what rules to follow and how they choose to define 'traditional' institutions or values," Aaron Jackson, president of Planting Peace, told The Huffington Post. "It's important and relevant to call this out, because the actions of Kim Davis and the messages from the anti-LGBTQ movement are not simply about a political or religious debate. There are LGBT youth across the world who are taking their lives at an alarming rate because of these messages from society that make them feel broken or less than. We have to meet hate with love, intolerance with compassion. Our message to our LGBT youth is simple: You are loved, valued, supported, and beautiful. There is nothing wrong with you, and we will stand by you. You are not alone."

By the way I have a source in Kentucky that is telling me that we all need to really pay attention to Kentucky when Davis returns to her job on Monday.
