Watching the Hillary Clinton interview on MSNBC right now. Update!

I have to say that while I am convinced that Hillary did not break the law, she is not coming off  as terribly believable here.

I don't really like Andrea Mitchell as a rule, but she is holding Hillary's feet to the fire here.

Already asked Hillary about being perceived as a liar, and is now asking her about her likability deficit. Hillary answers like a policy wonk, instead of with an emotional response.

Hillary refuses to answer questions about Joe Biden.  That is smart on her part.

Hillary is now defending the Iran deal. And explaining how she will enforce it, and expand upon it, when she is elected President.

Calls Donald Trump's campaign an "unfortunate development in American politics."

Hilary: Trump great at "innuendo, conspiracy theories and defaming people."

A few tweets:

Hillary now talking about women's rights. This is her strong suit.

Damn, Andrea is asking Hillary if she is worried that this nomination is slipping away, again. Even mentioned the tears on the 2008 campaign trail.

Okay the interview is over, and I think overall Hillary did well. She was controlled, consistent, and confident.

Updatge: Hillary's response on the e-mails. (This took place before I started live blogging.):

She explained that she had used a personal email account as a senator from New York and didn't spend much time considering alternatives when she became secretary of state in 2009. "I did all my business on my personal email [in the Senate]," Clinton said. "I was not thinking a lot when I got in [to the State Department]. There was so much work to be done. We had so many problems around the world. I didn't really stop and think what kind of email system will there be."

"This was fully above board, people knew I was using a personal email, I did it for convenience. I sent emails that I thought were work related to people's dot gov accounts," she added.

I am not sure that it will placate many critics (Actually I know it won't.), but it seems that not thinking about the personal e-mail and how it might be perceived by others will ultimately be her explanation and defense.

Have you read Wonkette's latest post about B Palin and Chinese ships off the Alaskan coast? What is that all about?
As to Hillary - this is not looking good for her. People just do not trust her. I am voting for Bernie.

Pat -- You can be sure Bristol wrote this: "He spends so much time bowing to the gods of political correctness and placating our enemies that no one respects us anymore."
Placating: a word used every day in the Palin household.
For Bristol's information, the buildup of the Chinese military is something that experts have been watching for years. It's not new. And you can be sure that all parts of the U.S. government, including the President, are fully aware of this latest move.

Your digs at the President are so transparent, though, Bristol. "Political correctness" is your way of saying that he went to Dillingham and had a wonderful time with the Natives there, the Natives that you try your hardest, through plastic surgery, not to look like anymore.

And Mt. McKinley was named a little more than 100 years ago -- changing the name from Danali -- for a third-rate President who supported the gold standard (go look it up, Bristol) so gold prospectors loved him. Then McKinley got himself shot, in Buffalo, NY, the third President to be assassinated, so it was some sort of monument to him. But he was from Ohio and never visited Alaska or the mountain named for him.
All the more reason that Ohio should come up with a monument named McKinley, and let Alaskans name their own mountain.
I think it bothers you because your cousin's name is McKinley, and now what's she gonna do?

Basically, you're green with jealousy that President Obama came to Alaska and was greeted with open arms wherever he went. His recognition of the history and heritage of the state means a lot. And now, when people in the lower 48 think of Alaska, they'll think of smiling President Obama, taking in the wonders of your state, and they won't be thinking of the Palins anymore. Your time has come and gone.

My mom had a history teacher who used to tell the class "beware the Chinese dragon" - and that was in 1927.

Pat, i will vote for whichever candidate becomes the Democratic candidate. At this point my choice is Hillary. Bernie Sanders has toyed with the Democratic Party for many years now; I'm not sure he deserves the party's nomination. I also do not like his cowardly ongoing support of the NRA and his inability to understand that segments of the American population have specific issues. For example, his total ineptness when faced with African American anger and grief about police brutality. On a lesser but serious note, he also never appears to smile; all we ever see are photos of him as a grumpy old man and he will be totally destroyed by the GOP/national media machine.

Good comment and your points are valid. Loved your last sentence and had to laugh. Yes - he usually does look grumpy!!

Bernie Sanders would not be a good POTUS and I doubt seriously he'd be elected.

Hillary Clinton is my choice! She has far more experience than any one else that has their name out there to run against her.

Can hardly wait to mark my ballot for her which will be well deserved!

Dear William J Bryan, I can't tell from your post if you are in favor of gun control, but I must say this. Regardless of how you feel the mountain should be named, no one just "goes and gets themselves shot" unless they're suicidal like Dakota Meyer. McKinley wasn't a great President, but he didn't ask to be shot.

Listening to the interview too, and Hillary is very controlled and calculating in her responses, which probably are due to her thinking like a lawyer at all times.

I don't really know what the big deal is. Did any of these e-mails cause harm to others? Was there evidence from these e-mails that Hillary wasn't doing her job? I doubt it. It's a witch hunt and detracts from the big elephant in the room called Trump. Why isn't Andrea Mitchell doing a thorough investigation on Trump?

The women who have been in the "game" and acted man enough could get by with acceptance and have "played along" for a very long time. Why? because they had degrees from universities, that scared the shit out of those fucked up men dicks regardless if they got a blow job or not. Sarah only gave the blow because that was all she had.

John Kerry spoke up for Hillary Clinton today regarding the email issue.

The Republicans and the media are feeding this issue and trying to bring her down even though she's appeared before the Republican led interrogation committee (U.S. Congress) more than once. And, guess what they couldn't prove a damned thing!

She's been around a long time - has tons of experience and the Clintons have been under the gun many times. The only thing proven regarding the Clintons was that Bill Clinton had unsex with that young gal. Hillary stood by her husband which also took a strong woman!

I will vote for Hillary Clinton for POTUS and hope to hell she wins! We need a strong Democrat following President Obama to keep the Republicans from bombing every country in the world, getting us in to multiple wars and spending money we don't have!

Voting will be very important as well as helping to get folks out to vote in your communities. As many Republicans as possible need to be voted out of office on the national, state and local levels!

I don`t think she is handling this any good.

Don`t understand why she didn't use the government email,

one for personal and one government work.
    It not that hard

    I use 3 email account.

    I will vote for her

Until someone can point to any significant ramifications of her using a private email account, I will chalk this up as yet another in an endless campaign to bring down the Clintons. The GOP wants the White House in the worst way.

Ask yourself if your life would be more affected by a Trump Presidency or the fact that she used private emails years ago.

    Hillary 2016!!

Hillary did what at least 2 Secretaries of State did before her. I too wish she'd done it differently, mainly because the Repubs will keep harping on it even though it was not illegal & shouldn't be an issue.

But let's all be realistic. If not this, they'd find something else to carp about. The Repubs hate, HATE the Clintons, but they also hate most Democrats, and want to make it impossible for a Democrat to run the country. This crap started with Reagan, who put party over country consistently, and with Gingrich, who made it his mission to change how the Republican base thinks about liberals and Democrats (always negative).

We need to quit making it easier for them.

Lol- aren't Republicans the ones who always butch that the government is incompetent, & if you want something done right (such as net security) it should be done by the private sector?

Yes. They constantly complain that government can't do anything right, then get elected and prove it.

Just screwing with you. Hillary Clinton is a lot smarter than Trump. No way would Hillary tell Sarah Palin she wants Sarah in her cabinet like Trump did.

It's amazing how much time, money and energy we devote to Hilary's emails and a potential gotcha on Benghazi where 4 Americans were killed, yet no investigations and no combing of personal emails from Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld for criminal activity leading to the Iraq war where thousands of Americans were killed.

Andrea Mitchell is no friend of any Democrat. Would she have ever asked Colin Powell why he "deleted" all of his emails? Would she have asked Dick Cheney who attended and what was decided at the very secret energy meeting he held in the White House in the early days of Bush's first administration? Of course not. This email nonsense is a lot like the absurd Whitewater attacks against Hillary Clinton in the early 1990's or like the recent seemingly never ending GOP witch hunt over Benghazi. Non issues because no one in the media wants to talk issues. They know that Democratic presidential hopefuls will address real issues with real facts and ideas and our GOP-oriented media does not want to deal with the real world. They much prefer their made-up Fox-iffied version. It looks like MSNBC will join CNN in a race to become Fox-lite.

I watched some of the "commentary" on MSNBC and CNN, and for some reason, the topic of Hillary's age interfering with her ability to lead came up a few times. Yet, Bernie Sanders gets a "pass" on the "age and ability to lead". This is nothing more than a witch hunt. She's going to speak to Congress and the House of Representatives about the emails and guess what else? Yep, if you guesed Benghazi, you're right.
If it wasn't emails, they'd find something else, anything to try to derail her campaign, but apparently, they don't know Hillary too well.

  13. Clinton typically comes across as studied, scripted, guarded, and rehearsed. While I definitely will not vote republican, I never feel fully comfortable with Clinton. She says the lines, but she never seems to own the lines. You never get a true sense of her.

She could benefit from the services of an acting and communications coach.

I watched the interview as well., I cringed at how Andrea Mitchell kept asking her if she would apologize, just so she (Andrea) could score some points.
Let's not forget, that Hillary Clinton did nothing outside the rules regarding her email or the server. NOTHING illegal. In hindsight, not the best choice, but so what? Don't you think that it would be something else under the microscope if it wasn't this issue?
This is a great article - and a really interesting website that opened my eyes in terms of how the media continues to portray Hilllary and color the public's perception of her in subtle ways with the language they use surrounding anything she says or does.

In a time when most of the media attention is focused on a loudmouthed, vulgar thug like Donald Trump, anyone else might come across as seeming controlled and guarded. i think Hillary Clinton is just fine. She's careful in phrasing things as a politician who wants to be president should be. She has also been abused almost daily by the media since 1992. Even today, in a column about Trump's narcissism, Bill Clinton's name comes up in the sure knowledge that the least mention of his name will tarnish Hillary in many people's minds. Hillary Clinton was an excellent first lady, an excellent senator for the state of New York and an exemplary secretary of state. That's a truly impressive resume to have for any candidate. That and her interest in and ability to address the issues of the day are what we should focus on. I, for one, am glad that Hillary Clinton's not superficial or genuinely dopey like the GOP candidates. Why didn't Mitchell ask her about the issues - the Middle East, immigration, race relations here at home, women's health, getting Congress to do its job, etc? Hillary Clinton has been speaking out on these and other issues for months now.
