In Tennessee 11 year old boy shoots and kills 8 year old girl over puppy. Gee, I wonder what mental illness he was suffering from?

Courtesy of WBIR:

The Jefferson County sheriff said that an 11-year-old boy shot and killed an 8-year-old girl who lived next door.

Authorities were called to Robin Road in White Pine around 7:30 p.m. Saturday on a report of a shooting.

Deputies found the girl on the ground with a gunshot wound to the chest. She was taken to Morristown-Hamblen Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Sheriff Bud McCoig said the young girl's next-door neighbor, a fifth grader at White Pine Elementary School, used his father's 12-gauge single-shot shotgun to shoot and kill the girl from inside his house. The victim was in second grade at the same school.

According to neighbors the shooting was over a puppy.

The boy wanted to see the puppy, the girl told him no, and so he shot and killed her. Because that is how we settle disputes in America.

Unlike Michael Moore I am NOT going to stop bringing you these stories and talking about what we need to do about gun violence in this country.

If you are tired of hearing about them, take solace in the fact that I am as well.

However if you want to see fewer of them on this blog, and other places in the news media and on the internet, then you need to vote for politicians who will actually do something to help reduce the number of gun fatalities.

If you do that I will gladly stop posting so many stories about children being killed with guns.

Which should prove easy since there will be fewer of them to post.

There's another one today..a 12 year old shot his 11 year old brother in the head at a shooting range. He found a gun lying on a picnic table, and shot his brother with it. Now, I may be wrong, but I'd think there are two lessons that all people learning to shoot abide by: never touch a gun not your own, and NEVER aim at a person? Wanna bet there are no charges against whoever is the dumb cluck NRA lover who left the loaded gun in plain view?

    1. This is not an accident.

Oh, the parents will claim that it is, and ask for prayers and sympathy. However, kids hate and fear and are jealous with a passion and intensity that adults can not comprehend.

How often has a kid seethed "I hate you!"

      And meant it.

The more guns within reach, the more murders among those too young to control their feelings or understand the consequences of acting upon them

    2. Jeb! Bush2:23 PM

      Stuff happens!!!!!!!!!!!!

    3. Anonymous5:29 PM

G, I saw this late yesterday and thought the RW reply "If only the puppy only had a gun..."
this article along with the other one about the 4 kids in cali arrested, I sent to potus and told him to BE A DICTATOR in chief! (they already say that anyway) and to reinstate the Automatic weapons ban and since 2nd amendment the "sacred cow" here make Bullets the highly "Death" taxed and waiting days, limit etc etc.
I told him to do via execute order. Hillary is talking about doing it and IF it were any other issue you know there would be a outrage. Instead I get Bullshit tweets about mental illness bla, bla, bla.
I think most sane Americans are sick of this.
I saw one of those little quote things on twitter and it was about Karma, its said something like,
Born in India die by monsoon,
born in somewhere else a flood,
born in america death by gun....

  2. Anonymous9:18 AM

Eventually every family in America will have experienced gun violence. Maybe then more people will be involved.

    1. Anonymous10:12 AM

We don't all have guns, but ALL of us are targets.

  3. Anonymous9:21 AM

Notice no one talks about how Levi himself missed a lot of school to go hunting as a kid and teen. I'm not even sure more than one day was missed in this case. But leave it to liberals to attack gratuitously out of ignorance and hate while creating drama that doesn't exist. I know no one of worth reads here but it's like Gryphen wants there to always be tension between people to satisfy his need. That is immoral. Drama seemed are immoral. Bristol is not a drama queen. She is a carpe diem person who use the first large check she earned to find her sons college in entirety.

    That is priorities.

Now grow up and stop stalking and lying about these people. Liberals have destroyed so much and made Levi a bigger liar than he was (though all teens lie).

Leave the alone. Stick to things you actually know about. Biased political articles.

    1. Anonymous9:52 AM

      Hey dope, wrong thread...

    2. Anonymous9:54 AM

You are such an asshole, Alicia. This is a thread about a poor little girl who was shot to death by her 11-year-old neighbor and you blab on about Brisol Palin.

    3. Anonymous9:54 AM

Hey Troll... you might want to double check to make sure you comment on the right thread.
Not that what you write makes much sense... go back to eating your paint chips.

    4. Anonymous9:56 AM

      You're drunk, Alicia.

    5. Anonymous9:57 AM

Can you tell us more about "her sons"?

Supposedly she only has one son .... please inform us about her other son(s).

    6. Anonymous9:57 AM

Perhaps YOU need to return to school, since you can't even post on the correct thread. Brilliant!

    7. Anonymous9:58 AM

I really feel sorry for you.

    8. Anonymous10:04 AM

Please get an education before you post crap here.

Definition of CARPE DIEM: the enjoyment of the pleasures of the moment without concern for the future

Yes, I agree Barstool is a "carpe diem" person ... NO CONCERN FOR THE FUTURE. For her or her kids.

    10. We are talking about a dead little girl. Be more disrespectful, troll.

    11. Anonymous10:09 AM

Piper or Willow ... please stop posting comments here when you are drunk.

    12. Anonymous10:13 AM

      Wrong thread, asshole.

    13. Anonymous10:20 AM

Oh fuck off. Really. I mean it.

30 million views on the blog and you think no one reads it? You're as much of an idiot as Bristol, so it's no accident you're sucking her titties for attention, is there?

    14. Anonymous10:23 AM

You are not only on the wrong post, you're on the wrong blog. Or, perhaps it was deliberate because your moral compass is misaligned.

Palin-lovers step to the right and it speaks volumes about the type of person you are for you to defend and spread the type of Palin-ickiness that just won't wash off no matter how hard you scrub.

Haha the Palins read this blog so deep down inside you must believe the Palins have no worth. Truly, i would refer to Bristol as a slut rather than a whore because she's giving it away. America knows this about her, and therefore you should stick to things YOU know about...

    15. I have serious doubts about Barstool funding anyone's college education but you're right about one thing : Barstool is a "Carpe diem " kind of gal. She never puts any ol guy off tomorrow that she could have today. On second thought maybe she's more of a Carpe noctem (seize the night) or better still, Carpe omnious (seize it all).

    16. Anonymous12:16 PM

It may be the wrong thread but really, this entire blog is about the Palins so who cares? I'm sure Levi DID miss lots of school for whatever reason and believe me, that poor bastard needs all the education he can get. And he shouldn't be whining about paying child support either cause he's just as responsible for bringing Tripp into the world as Bristol. All these Alaskan hillbillies need to take responsibility for their actions.

    17. Anonymous1:28 PM

When did Levi (or anyone else for that matter) say he didn't want to pay child support? It's about the amount of child support and the fact that Bristol had (has?) been keeping Levi from seeing his son on a regular basis.

    18. Anonymous3:32 PM

I thought little Tripp said he didn't wants to go to his father's house anymore? They should respect his wishes.

    19. Anonymous4:13 PM

Does bristol's hatred for sunny affect her relationship with her bff mercede?

    20. Anonymous4:14 PM

No they should not respect his wishes. He's a little kid who needs to spend time with his father and half-sisters.

    21. Anonymous4:32 PM

I predict they will all be a big happy family in a few years. Especially when Bristol and levi have to get together for the birth of their first grandchild once Tripp turns 16. You know that is coming, like it or not.

  4. Anonymous9:31 AM

In other words, yes, we really do want to take your guns. Maybe not all of them. But a lot of them.

  5. OMG! I see that little sweet face and I just want to cry. I hope that boy's parents are held responsible for allowing their son to have access to a lethal weapon. I am just so sick about this. Please keep us informed about all these unnecessary tragedies.

    1. Anonymous12:50 PM

There are too many children shot in this country. We don't know what the numbers are because congress has passed laws preventing that info from being gathered. In less than one month, a 5 yr old, a 3 yr old, and a 5 month old were shot and killed in Cleveland. We just don't need to stop mass shootings, we need to stop shootings

  6. Anonymous9:42 AM

Since this boy shot the troublemaker from inside his house he can use the defense he was "standing his ground". Open and shut case.

    1. Anonymous10:44 AM

The troublemaker? WTF does that even mean. What kind of monster are you to call a little girl such a thing because she chooses not to share her puppy with a boy who had been bullying her at school? This boy is the 'troublemaker' in spades.

    2. Anonymous11:00 AM

      The OP was snark.

    3. Anonymous12:52 PM

The sarcasm was dripping off that comment.

  7. Anonymous9:45 AM

Why aren't the right-to-life people protesting all these kids being killed?

Oh, that's right, they're out of the womb and therefore no longer a concern.

  8. Anonymous9:54 AM

'As a Doctor, I spent many a night pulling bullets out of bodies. There is no doubt that this senseless violence is breathtaking – but I never saw a body with bullet holes that was more devastating than taking the right to arm ourselves away.'

And this is the guy that is leading in Iowa in the race for the presidency?????

    1. Crystal Sage10:39 AM

Instead of taking The Hippocratic Oath, Dr. Carson took the Hypo-critic Oath.

    2. Anonymous12:54 PM

That should be spelled Hippocritic, since you can't be a bigger hypocrite than him.

    3. Anonymous6:02 PM

      Q. What medical doctor in his right mind would put the right to bear arms above the sanctity of human life?
      A. A medical doctor who is not in his right mind.

  9. Anonymous10:27 AM

    Read This:

  10. CorningNY10:31 AM

Unless the adults in the household are held responsible for leaving guns lying around where others--especially children--can get at them, these killings will continue. I think if someone uses your gun to shoot someone else, you should go to prison for YEARS. Only then will the culture change.

  11. Anonymous10:37 AM

Expect Huckabee, Cruz, and the rest to blame the girl for not packing.

It must be the girl's parents fault if they didn't arm her to defend herself. It's an unfortunate statement, yet this is what we hear from the far right.

  12. Anonymous11:07 AM

I'm 100% behind having a "well-regulated" militia. Time for the gov't to help make us safe from gun violence.

  13. Anonymous11:15 AM

My bet ..He had threatened or tried to kill her puppy already...

    1. Anonymous3:34 PM

My bet is he would have shot both girl and puppy at his first chance. I hope his parents go to jail.

  14. Anonymous11:18 AM

A child is gunned down by another child over a puppy?! What will be the next reason to shoot and kill some one else? Not sharing a sandwich, a stick of gum, a gummy bear?

    Folks, we're screwed!

  15. Anonymous11:20 AM

The only defense against a bad baby with a gun is a good...wait..what?

  16. Anonymous11:43 AM

What kind of punishment for the 11 year old pos. I think they should try him as an adult he knew what the gun would do and how to use it this was no accident.

    1. Anonymous11:52 AM

    2. Anonymous1:22 PM

Whether or not he understands that death if forever (and I think he does understand) he's still just 11-years old. This kid needs treatment and a lot of it, not to be automatically locked up for the rest of his life.

  17. Anonymous12:03 PM

I can't believe this fucking country.

We read these stories again and again and again and again.

What will it finally take to do something?

If the 9/11 terrorists had used guns to kill 3000 Americans, we wouldn't have seen a single change to gun laws. But when they use planes to do it, we spend millions of dollars and pass laws requiring extreme security at airports so it doesn't happen again

I will never understand the logic of that

    1. Leland2:01 PM

I would agree completely except you said millions of dollars. Try Billions. And the overall cost is heading into the trillions.

The terrorists don't have to do anything more. They've already won since the "security" at the airports is costing us dearly in lost efficiency and privacy.

And the so-called security we have at airports is laughable. Google "effectiveness of airport body scanners and over 26,000 articles pop up. The ones I read make it pretty clear the scanners are useless against anyone who knows how they work!

As for the "logic", the way I see it is this way. We kill ourselves? NOT a big enough "fear factor" to use for controlling us through fear. A "terrorist" act - even ONE - and they can write all sorts of laws to control us - and they aren't concerned about the Constitutionality of those laws, either, claiming they are only doing it to keeps "safe". Read The Patriot Act sometime.

    2. Anonymous2:27 PM

Stop yammering on a subject you know NADA about!

  18. Anonymous12:38 PM

Well when you flood the entire usa with as many guns and nuts as possible then you will see what the REPUBLICANS HAVE CREATED, VOTED FOR AND ENCOURAGE. notice how silent they are about it. notice how the defunding of mental healthcare has worked out. notice how the republican party in general are all stuck and pathetically crazy. notice the lack of funding for infrastructure and again the republican ass clowns are silent. And then johnny McCain on steven Colbert.....wow, thank you steven Colbert. don't vote R is the word.

    1. Anonymous1:36 PM

McCain acted like a real jerk on the Colbert show last night.

    2. Anonymous3:08 PM

McCain has always been an ass! He's no war hero in my book, and wouldn't have amounted to anything if it weren't for daddy dearest.

  19. I made the mistake of commenting on a gun post on Facebook. Holy Shit. I forgot where I live (Red 'Murica, Alex Jones fan club central) and I'm sleeping with my gun tonight, if I sleep at all. Seriously.

  20. Randall3:20 PM

Believing arming everyone in response to a shooting is like
believing the proper response to a drunk-driving fatality would be for EVERYBODY to get drunk before they drive.

    1. Anonymous4:17 PM

You are right Randall. And after everybody gets drunk, give them an assault rifle to defend themselves against the other drunks. Grreat GOP logic.

  21. Anonymous4:34 PM

Has sarah made any statement about the Umpqua shooting or bought a new gun in honor of Chris Harper Mercer?

  22. Anonymous11:28 PM

People getting trigger happy in Michigan.

Then a shoplifter at the Home Depot

AUBURN HILLS, MI -- No decision has been made on whether to charge a woman with a concealed carry permit who opened fire on Tuesday at two suspected shoplifters outside of a Home Depot, according to Auburn Hills Police Lt. Jill McDonnell.

  23. The article fails to mention that the boy had bullied her at school and the principal had to intervene.

I'm wondering if he was suspended and at home and "couldn't leave the house".

I suspect this kid was a sociopath. You can't legally label them as such before the age of 18 but sociopaths don't just instantly happen on their 18th birthday.

Perhaps this little girl knew this boy tortured or killed small animals and was protecting her puppy from him.

We may or may not hear anything further.

What really needs to happen is the parents need to be held equally liable for this girl's death for leaving a loaded shotgun where this boy could get ahold of it. Especially if it turns out he has a history of discipline problems and violence in his student record.

Let's start prosecuting the parents for first degree murder as accomplices for providing the loaded weapons these children are using to murder each other.

Anyone remember the boy who went up to his Dad's room, got the key to the gun safe from where it was hidden, opened the safe, loaded the rifle, then went to the window and shot his 4th grade neighbor to death?

Yes, evil exists and sometimes it's children.

Perhaps if we start holding parents liable we can reduce the deaths.

Don't feed the trolls!
It just goes directly to their thighs.
