In Tennessee 11 year old boy shoots and kills 8 year old girl over puppy. Gee, I wonder what mental illness he was suffering from?

Courtesy of WBIR:

The Jefferson County sheriff said that an 11-year-old boy shot and killed an 8-year-old girl who lived next door.

Authorities were called to Robin Road in White Pine around 7:30 p.m. Saturday on a report of a shooting.

Deputies found the girl on the ground with a gunshot wound to the chest. She was taken to Morristown-Hamblen Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Sheriff Bud McCoig said the young girl's next-door neighbor, a fifth grader at White Pine Elementary School, used his father's 12-gauge single-shot shotgun to shoot and kill the girl from inside his house. The victim was in second grade at the same school.

According to neighbors the shooting was over a puppy.

The boy wanted to see the puppy, the girl told him no, and so he shot and killed her. Because that is how we settle disputes in America.

Unlike Michael Moore I am NOT going to stop bringing you these stories and talking about what we need to do about gun violence in this country.

If you are tired of hearing about them, take solace in the fact that I am as well.

However if you want to see fewer of them on this blog, and other places in the news media and on the internet, then you need to vote for politicians who will actually do something to help reduce the number of gun fatalities.

If you do that I will gladly stop posting so many stories about children being killed with guns.

Which should prove easy since there will be fewer of them to post.

There's another one today..a 12 year old shot his 11 year old brother in the head at a shooting range. He found a gun lying on a picnic table, and shot his brother with it. Now, I may be wrong, but I'd think there are two lessons that all people learning to shoot abide by: never touch a gun not your own, and NEVER aim at a person? Wanna bet there are no charges against whoever is the dumb cluck NRA lover who left the loaded gun in plain view?

    1. This is not an accident.

Oh, the parents will claim that it is, and ask for prayers and sympathy. However, kids hate and fear and are jealous with a passion and intensity that adults can not comprehend.

How often has a kid seethed "I hate you!"

      And meant it.

The more guns within reach, the more murders among those too young to control their feelings or understand the consequences of acting upon them

G, I saw this late yesterday and thought the RW reply "If only the puppy only had a gun..."
this article along with the other one about the 4 kids in cali arrested, I sent to potus and told him to BE A DICTATOR in chief! (they already say that anyway) and to reinstate the Automatic weapons ban and since 2nd amendment the "sacred cow" here make Bullets the highly "Death" taxed and waiting days, limit etc etc.
I told him to do via execute order. Hillary is talking about doing it and IF it were any other issue you know there would be a outrage. Instead I get Bullshit tweets about mental illness bla, bla, bla.
I think most sane Americans are sick of this.
I saw one of those little quote things on twitter and it was about Karma, its said something like,
Born in India die by monsoon,
born in somewhere else a flood,
born in america death by gun....

Eventually every family in America will have experienced gun violence. Maybe then more people will be involved.

Notice no one talks about how Levi himself missed a lot of school to go hunting as a kid and teen. I'm not even sure more than one day was missed in this case. But leave it to liberals to attack gratuitously out of ignorance and hate while creating drama that doesn't exist. I know no one of worth reads here but it's like Gryphen wants there to always be tension between people to satisfy his need. That is immoral. Drama seemed are immoral. Bristol is not a drama queen. She is a carpe diem person who use the first large check she earned to find her sons college in entirety.

    That is priorities.

Now grow up and stop stalking and lying about these people. Liberals have destroyed so much and made Levi a bigger liar than he was (though all teens lie).

Leave the alone. Stick to things you actually know about. Biased political articles.

Haha the Palins read this blog so deep down inside you must believe the Palins have no worth. Truly, i would refer to Bristol as a slut rather than a whore because she's giving it away. America knows this about her, and therefore you should stick to things YOU know about...

It may be the wrong thread but really, this entire blog is about the Palins so who cares? I'm sure Levi DID miss lots of school for whatever reason and believe me, that poor bastard needs all the education he can get. And he shouldn't be whining about paying child support either cause he's just as responsible for bringing Tripp into the world as Bristol. All these Alaskan hillbillies need to take responsibility for their actions.

    15. Anonymous1:28 PM

When did Levi (or anyone else for that matter) say he didn't want to pay child support? It's about the amount of child support and the fact that Bristol had (has?) been keeping Levi from seeing his son on a regular basis.

There are too many children shot in this country. We don't know what the numbers are because congress has passed laws preventing that info from being gathered. In less than one month, a 5 yr old, a 3 yr old, and a 5 month old were shot and killed in Cleveland. We just don't need to stop mass shootings, we need to stop shootings

Unless the adults in the household are held responsible for leaving guns lying around where others--especially children--can get at them, these killings will continue. I think if someone uses your gun to shoot someone else, you should go to prison for YEARS. Only then will the culture change.

Expect Huckabee, Cruz, and the rest to blame the girl for not packing.

It must be the girl's parents fault if they didn't arm her to defend herself. It's an unfortunate statement, yet this is what we hear from the far right.

I can't believe this fucking country.

We read these stories again and again and again and again.

What will it finally take to do something?

If the 9/11 terrorists had used guns to kill 3000 Americans, we wouldn't have seen a single change to gun laws. But when they use planes to do it, we spend millions of dollars and pass laws requiring extreme security at airports so it doesn't happen again

I will never understand the logic of that

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Leland2:01 PM

I would agree completely except you said millions of dollars. Try Billions. And the overall cost is heading into the trillions.

The terrorists don't have to do anything more. They've already won since the "security" at the airports is costing us dearly in lost efficiency and privacy.

And the so-called security we have at airports is laughable. Google "effectiveness of airport body scanners and over 26,000 articles pop up. The ones I read make it pretty clear the scanners are useless against anyone who knows how they work!

As for the "logic", the way I see it is this way. We kill ourselves? NOT a big enough "fear factor" to use for controlling us through fear. A "terrorist" act - even ONE - and they can write all sorts of laws to control us - and they aren't concerned about the Constitutionality of those laws, either, claiming they are only doing it to keeps "safe". Read The Patriot Act sometime.

  23. The article fails to mention that the boy had bullied her at school and the principal had to intervene.

I'm wondering if he was suspended and at home and "couldn't leave the house".

I suspect this kid was a sociopath. You can't legally label them as such before the age of 18 but sociopaths don't just instantly happen on their 18th birthday.

Perhaps this little girl knew this boy tortured or killed small animals and was protecting her puppy from him.

We may or may not hear anything further.

What really needs to happen is the parents need to be held equally liable for this girl's death for leaving a loaded shotgun where this boy could get ahold of it. Especially if it turns out he has a history of discipline problems and violence in his student record.

Let's start prosecuting the parents for first degree murder as accomplices for providing the loaded weapons these children are using to murder each other.

Anyone remember the boy who went up to his Dad's room, got the key to the gun safe from where it was hidden, opened the safe, loaded the rifle, then went to the window and shot his 4th grade neighbor to death?

Yes, evil exists and sometimes it's children.

Perhaps if we start holding parents liable we can reduce the deaths.
