James Carville calls out both Trey Gowdy and the Benghazi Committee as creations of the Koch brothers.

Carville: "I got an idea for somebody in the media. Why don't you see if this is true, that Trey Gowdy is a creation of the Koch brothers, and the whole crime of denial industry. And this committee is nothing but a creation of Rupert Murdoch and the Koch brother. You know Fox ran over one thousand segments in twenty months after this thing."

I think we all know that Carville is big supporter of the Clintons, and just about as partisan as they come.

However he just issued a challenge to the media to prove him wrong, let's see if they take him up on it.

I think we all suspect what they will find.

In other news top Democrats are now calling for Republicans to reimburse the tax payer money that they wasted on this most recent "investigation."

Courtesy of HuffPo:

Top Senate Democrats want to shut down the House Benghazi committee amid allegations it seeks to attack Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign. And they want Republicans to reimburse taxpayers for the committee's more than $4.5 million cost.

The senators, including Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), accused the GOP Wednesday of "operating a political opposition machine against Secretary Clinton," and called the House Select Committee on Benghazi's use of taxpayer funds "wholly inappropriate."

"Over the past several weeks, several House Republicans have made clear what many observers have suspected all along: that the Select Committee has conducted a political inquisition aimed at former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton," the senators wrote in a letter to Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus.

"We firmly believe the Committee should be disbanded, and that every penny of taxpayer money that has financed this purely political committee ought to be repaid," the letter continued.

Hear, hear!

Tomorrow Clinton steps into the lions' den essentially wearing fang proof armor.

Not only should that be a show well worth watching I think it might also be the Benghazi committee's last hurrah.

Trey Gowdy and committee were duped by Simmons...

The operative and terrorism expert was readily available to all committees investigating the attack because he was a member of Accuracy In Media (AIM), the right-wing media-watchdog group which happens to also run its own little group called “Citizens' Commission on Benghazi”. That Benghazi group is an even more blatant endeavor to attack the Obama administration and Clinton in particular so AIM was understandably thrilled to provide a key witness to the investigations.

Gowdy has the transcript of this vital witness’s testimony and, in March of this year, focussed narrowly on this specific incident until email-ghazi distracted everyone. It was therefore a major blow to all his efforts in the first half of the year to discover that AIM’s CIA operative was facing multiple charges of fraud because Wayne Simmons’ purported 27-year career as a CIA operative never actually happened.

In a bizarre meshing of Simmons’ con man skills and AIM’s failure to check his background, every Congressional committee investigating Benghazi was taken in by a charlatan. Every one of the four committees prior to Gowdy’s had spent an inordinate amount of time on this apparent "smoking gun" before dismissing it. Gowdy failed to see the obvious pattern and blundered into the same dead end.

Perhaps Elijah Cummings could have directed him away from that wild goose chase if Gowdy had conducted an honest and transparent investigation instead of hiding so much of it from the Democratic contingent. Gowdy’s foolish misjudgment rebounded on him again, resulting in yet another prat fall.

He can’t even share the ignominy of being duped with other Benghazi committee chairmen. They’ve long ago wound up their investigations, written their reports and declared the "stand down" order a false clue in much the same way Pan Am reported a financial loss as a negative profit. It fooled Gowdy.

IM ran a post a bit ago that considered the idea that the Dems and Clinton should bale on the obviously partisan Benghazi Committee. I commented that I thought it was in Clinton's interest to show up and testify. It's becoming more and more clear that her testimony will shine a light on her strengths and the GOP's sham investigation. Anyway, I got slammed for being an anti-Clinton troll. Just saying. No need for any apologies.

I think I just found the IM post and don't see my comment or my response to the troll accusations...unless there was another, similar post. So please ignore the above.

Can't Stand Andrea Mitchell. She made a weak attempt to bring up emails like it was a crime. Go
Carville! Challenge the media who do a piss poor job of fact checking.

I think FOX news will break the story, and bring the spotlight of truth on this witchhunt. Oh wait, I meat Dr Maddow.

Carville kind of gives me the creeps, knowing he's married to that cray cray woman just makes me shiver, But then, with his looks, they DO make a good match.
Wonder what's taking Bristol so long? lol

Any chance you will be live blogging the Secretary's testimony tomorrow, G? Pretty please? I like to read your, and the IM community's, comments of these kind of events from real time.

Unfortunately, I have to work, and won't get to watch Ms. Clinton's shredding of lil' Trey. My four month old boss is such a hardass!

ps...thanks for posting this article, another one that I glanced at earlier, but had no time to enjoy.

  11. While I'm all for that, exactly who is going to repay the money? The GOP Party? (Out of petty cash?) Or does he expect each of the senators to chip in?

If they're just going to rob Peter to pay Paul in the budget, you know where they are going to get the money. All of the social programs will see a $4.5 million cut to "pay it back".
