I worked at a #PlannedParenthood clinic in Kansas for 3 years. My coworkers & I were subjected to the following acts of terrorism:
— Bryn Greenwood (@bryngreenwood) November 30, 2015
Gasoline was poured under our back door & ignited 4 times. Twice while the clinic was occupied, causing patients to be evacuated.
— Bryn Greenwood (@bryngreenwood) November 30, 2015
Butyric acid (used as a stink bomb) was poured under our doors & into ventilation system so many times I lost count. Clinic evacuated.
— Bryn Greenwood (@bryngreenwood) November 30, 2015
2 cherry bombs were left on our doorstep after hours, causing damage & clinic closure. Imagine what it's like going to work after that.
— Bryn Greenwood (@bryngreenwood) November 30, 2015
We received hundreds of phone calls, threatening to torch our clinic & to kill the "murdering whores" who worked there.
— Bryn Greenwood (@bryngreenwood) November 30, 2015
3 times someone drove by at night & shot out our windows. Picketers stood on the sidewalk & harassed employees as we swept up broken glass.
— Bryn Greenwood (@bryngreenwood) November 30, 2015
Our clinic didn't perform abortions. We did well woman exams, pregnancy tests, dispensed birth control, & treated STIs.
— Bryn Greenwood (@bryngreenwood) November 30, 2015
Our clinic offered free & low cost services in a low income neighborhood, but every day the "pro-life" movement tried to frighten us.
— Bryn Greenwood (@bryngreenwood) November 30, 2015
The goal was to make us afraid to come to work, to make us quit, to make us close the clinic. That's terrorism. That's how terrorism works.
— Bryn Greenwood (@bryngreenwood) November 30, 2015
You should not have to fear for your life every time you go to work at a women's clinic in this country.I think Ms. Greenwood is correct in calling this exactly what it is, acts of terrorism.
No, Gryphen. It could only be terrorism if these acts were proven to have been performed by Syrian immigrants or Muslims.
ReplyDeleteNo, it is terrorism when someone is being terrorized or targeted for a specific reason (In this case their job contradicting these terrorists' beliefs). Maybe stop stereotyping ?
DeleteThe OP was being sarcastic.
DeleteAnd I will bet that in none of those incidences were arrests made.
ReplyDeleteSimply "standing their ground" (snark)
DeleteGood Christian "patriots" who love their country so much, they terrorize other citizens. No wonder people do not want to join these churches, they are attracting the dregs of society, who want to kill oters.
DeleteThey are true heroes. I had the honor of being selected to be an escort one summer at a clinic deep in the bible belt. Some weekends, the antis would bring their kids along, yet their presence did not curtail the vile garbage coming from their parent's mouths.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe we still have to fight this shit.
Me either. I feel like we are in a bad time warp.
DeleteAfter reading the few pages (64) available in the above link, I am speechless. She used the Bible to promote herself and a political platform. How low can she go?
ReplyDeleteNot as low as anti-abortion people apparently.
DeleteTed Cruz Goes Completely Insane And Claims That Democrats Commit Most Violent Crimes
ReplyDeleteDuring an interview with radio host Huge Hewitt, Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz went bonkers and claimed that most violent crimes in the US are committed by Democrats.
Audio:
...Listen, here’s the simple and undeniable fact. The overwhelming majority of violent criminals are Democrats. The media doesn’t report that.
http://www.politicususa.com/2015/11/30/ted-cruz-completely-insane-claims-democrats-commit-violent-crimes.html
And this man is running for president.
I'm guessing that the reason the media doesn't report it is because IT'S ALL IN YOUR DAMN HEAD!!!
Delete6;17 He DID say that. Get off C4P once in a while, and get yourself EDUCATED. It seems to be the "talking point" memo passed around to gop contenders by the Koch bros.
Delete@1:46, it seemed to me that 6:17 was saying that Cruz's claim was all in Cruz's head.
Delete"media doesn't report it is because IT'S ALL IN YOUR [Cruz's] DAMN HEAD"
Thanks, Nefer, and you're correct.
DeleteI'm 6:17 and was referring to the absurd claim being a figment of Cruz's warped imagination.
However, on second thought, it was more likely pulled out of a completely different portion of Cruz's anatomy.
Your Pro-Life Republicans Friends Might Actually Be Pro-Choice, Just Like Sarah Palin And Michele Bachmann
ReplyDelete...When I was in high school, I was a Republican. In fact, I was the founding president of my high school’s Republican Club. In addition to that, I used to be the conservative voice of the opinions section of the high school newspaper and often sparred (in print) with a fellow journalism geek named Carl. It was Carl who gets partial credit for my transformation into a liberal Democrat.
Here’s how he did it.
http://www.addictinginfo.org/2015/11/30/your-pro-life-republicans-friends-might-actually-be-pro-choice-just-like-sarah-palin-and-michele-bachmann/
From the above article:
Delete< So, here’s an experiment for you to try. Ask your pro-life friends a similar question.
“If a woman close to you became unexpectedly pregnant and asked you for advice, what would you do?”
If they answer with a variation on “I would let her decide,” then they are PRO-CHOICE.
Fact: You don’t have to be “pro-abortion” to be pro-choice.
There’s an important variable in the equation, though. In order for your conservative friends to experience a similar epiphany, they have to possess some sort of intellectual honesty. They have to possess the capacity to concede to reality. Sadly, many conservatives are so wrapped up in their epistemically-closed political bubble they refuse to acquiesce a point or to even recognize the barrage of empirical truths karate-chopping them in the face because they fear becoming a traitor to their cozy bubble existence.>
Fox Blames Planned Parenthood Victims: If They Had Guns They “Could’ve Defended Themselves” (VIDEO)
ReplyDeleteThe right-wing reactions to the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood terrorist attack has been nothing short of horrific. So far, conservative responses have ranged from blaming President Barack Obama, inaccurately labeling the attacker as a “transgendered leftist,” downplaying the severity of the attack, reframing the attack as a bank robbery (which was debunked), going after liberals in defense of pro-lifers and claiming that conservatives were the real victims because the shooting made them look bad.
In every case, Republicans failed to recognize that the shooter, Robert Lewis Dear, was a right-wing extremist whose actions were politically motivated and targeted toward an organization despised by conservatives. Innocent lives were lost, and there was nothing that could be done. Fox News seems to see it differently, though.
http://www.addictinginfo.org/2015/11/30/fox-blames-planned-parenthood-victims-if-they-had-guns-they-couldve-defended-themselves-video/
IF that guy is transgendered, he should SUE his surgeon.
DeleteWhat if he looked like Sophia Vergera (sp?) before?
DeleteI was waiting for someone to use the ol' if they only had guns excuse. The NRA would be so proud.
DeleteShe would be smiling as she put a knife in your back and then quote a bible verse to justify her actions.
ReplyDeleteChristian Terrorist Josh Feuerstein Deletes July Video Calling For Christians To Murder Abortion Doctors!
ReplyDelete...After the Planned Parenthood shooting in Colorado last Friday, Feuerstein removed a video from his FB account that called for violence against abortion doctors.
Question is, why would he remove the video unless he felt that it had something to do with the shooting?
Thankfully, we have the transcript of what is said in that video:
“Planned Parenthood has hunted down millions and millions of little innocent babies, stuck a knife into the uterus, cut them, pulled them out, crushed their skull with forceps, ripped their body apart, sold their tissue, and threw them bleeding into a trash bin.”
“I say, tonight, we punish Planned Parenthood. I think it’s time that abortion doctors should have to run and hide and be afraid for their life.”
Isn’t it nice to be White in America?
You can literally accumulate a following of 1.8 million idiots, and then incite them to commit atrociously violent crimes.
http://aattp.org/christian-terrorist-josh-feuerstein-deletes-july-video-calling-for-christians-to-murder-abortion-doctors/
Why is this not an indictable crime? He is inciting murder. He is encouraging the killing of Planned Parenthood employees.
DeleteWhy can't he be arrested and charged for this?
GOP EFFECT: Christian Terrorist Targeted Planned Parenthood- Killed Veteran, Mother, And Cop
ReplyDeleteThe Planned Parenthood shooter went into that clinic on Friday, looking to end the lives of people in the business of ending unwanted pregnancies.
What he did instead was take the lives of a stay at home mother of two, an Iraq War veteran, and a peace officer.
...Men like Dear are truly predators of the human race.
They are uneducated, misinformed, religious when it suits them, bigoted, and mean.

Does Conservative Anti-Abortion Rhetoric Incite Domestic Terrorism?
What happens when anti-abortionists whip their following into a frenzy, especially those who stand to profit by their outrage? Domestic terrorist, Robert L. Dear, carries out his Black Friday Planned Parenthood Massacre. Upon his arrest, Dear mumbled, “no more baby parts,” indicating the gunman was motivated by “an anti-abortion agenda,” according to Reuters.

GOP Candidates Break 2-Day’s Silence On Planned Parenthood Attack
After nearly two days of dead air, the Republican presidential candidates have begun climbing out of their fortresses of silence. Then, rather than accept responsibility for their own language, which targeted Planned Parenthood, they blamed the domestic terrorist. After all, as the only Republican woman running for president Carly Fiorina said, this was a “a tragedy, especially on a holiday weekend.”
http://aattp.org/gop-candidates-break-2-days-silence-on-planned-parenthood-attack/
Right, Carly. He should have chosen another time, AFTER the holiday. What a cold hearted bitch. Or, a typical republican contender.
DeleteMaybe Carly thinks the attack would have been okay if it had happened on another weekend?
DeleteNo one who is willing to "sleep with" the NRA will ever see a murderer as anything but a lone crazy person who came across his weapon mysteriously.
Beaglemom
What the hell is wrong with these RWNJ's? Waiting so long to acknowledge it happened or the possibility it was from their own playbook and raw meat phrases? I was setting the radio on my new car, and John Fugelsang was interviewing one of the perp's neighbors. If the inside of his head looked anything like the trailer he was living in, the man was truly screwed up. He'd wake up at sunrise and scream bible verses toward the sun, other than that, he kept to himself and shot aluminum pie plates. Guess which news reading educational station he watched all day? It rhymes with Fox News.
DeleteAnd again I up my bi-weekly donation to PP
ReplyDeleteRight on dude.....same
DeleteGod Bless you Ms. Greenwood for your service and bravery and God Bless all who work at PP.
ReplyDeleteHey guess what? The ProLIfers don't are about your experience at PP.
ReplyDeleteBut, they are NOT Pro Lifers, honey. They are pro rape the Bible. Taking lives to supposedly "save a fetus", is still taking a life. Hate is also a "sin", equal to killing. The Bible does not differentiate sins. I challenge ANY "Christian" to tell me where Jesus said to Kill anyone who does not follow the Word.
DeleteThe problem is that these terrorists and terrorist-sympathizers think the people who work at PP and who use the services are evil and deserve every bad thing coming to them. So, you won't get any sympathy except for the usual bullshit throwaway crap followed by a comment about murdered babies.
ReplyDeleteNancy French and Bristol Palin are terrorist sympathizers.
ReplyDelete"Enemy Combatants"
DeletePaling around with terrorists.
DeleteTrue christians following the word of their belief, cuz Jesus said to kill the sinners right? RIGHT? Yet , their god said " thou shalt not kill. WTF is wrong with you idiots? Is it pick and choose ?
ReplyDeleteHe also said something about sin and stones and casting. Maybe that was about fishing?
DeleteThe gun culture is partially to blame for this shit, too. Some people in Alaska are allowing children as young as 7 yrars old to shoot guns. Just ask Tripp Johnston what he does while visiting his daddy.
ReplyDeletePlease share Bristól.
DeleteIt is ludicrous to assume that Sunny & Levi are wonderful simply because one dislikes Bristol. All of those people are repulsive.
DeleteSo what are you saying 9:26? That granny palin needs a t-shirt with a target on it?
DeleteAlso, too, ask Tripp what he did while visiting his mother's "Trial husband" in Kentucky. There have been so many trial husbands, some overnight, some a few days, Tripp might not remember ALL of them. It seems to be the Christian way Bristles is raising her children.
DeleteI wouldn't call Levi and Sunny "repulsive." They obviously love their kids and are doing the best they can, which is pretty great considering the shit they have had to put up with (especially Levi who was only a teenager when he started with the Palins). I'll save "repulsive" for Sarah and Todd and Bristol. I don't agree with a lot of the decisions Sunny and Levi have made, including naming their beautiful baby after a gun. Questionable, distasteful, ignorant...sure. Repulsive? That's going a little far.
DeleteThere is no question: those who attack and even picket clinics ARE terrorists. And Bill O'Reilly and his ilk DO have blood on their hands. (Dr. Tiller) Up to their elbows. Up to their shoulders. Up to and dripping from their chins...
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteAnd that is terrorism, pure and simple. And people who condone it, like Sarah and Bristol Palin, are aiding and abetting it.
ReplyDeleteBeaglemom
It is INSANE how far people take their beliefs these days, don't they realize that they are only making things worse and that they are not pro-life if they are shooting at people and throwing bombs at them ? this is definitely terrorism !
ReplyDeleteI've had changed how I discuss these acts both in conversations at work and in my personal life, and on Facebook.
ReplyDelete"Right Wing Christian Terrorist" is my accurate description and I no longer pull the punch and no one should in my opinion. It's gone WAY too far.
There is nothing more pro-life than to promote free birth control, prevention of pregnancy, and access to womens healthcare preventing illness, disease and death. These people are not pro-life they are self righteous bullies.
ReplyDeleteMy bestfriend did his internship at PP when he was getting his Masters degree. The staff had to take self-defense lessons and were instructed to take a different route home each night. They parked their cars where they couldn't be observed from the street. They had to have unpublished phone numbers not just unlisted.
ReplyDeleteThe local police came to speak to them and said ANY other group you could reason with, but the anti- choice were zealots and there was No working with them.
The dedicated staff were harassed constantly, even though that clinic didn't provide abortion services. This was in the 80's. It has grown even worse now.
I escorted a friend to PP once, Back then the ONLY location near us was in Paoli PA. People from our then church traveled two plus hours to shame, hand out Caucasian dead fetus keyrings, and had news stations involved. This was around the time Tiller was killed.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine walking that gauntlet alone, and the people at the clinic hurried out with tarps to cover patients from sight as they and the escorts were taken in. To this day, I never saw such compassionate, non judgemental, supportive and loving women and men serving the public. When we left, signs that were even more crazy were up calling us "baby killers" and water balloons with red soda were thrown at us.
We're still friends thirty years later, she has no guilt over her decision, and wasn't harmed in any way whatsoever.
Look closely at that guy and think "Would I give a viable baby for him to adopt?"
I would have taken two keychains and made earrings, then bought one of those air horns and used it generously. Water balloons? I'd be using one of the water pressure rifles with permanent dye.
DeleteI can't stand those right wing fundie holier than thou hypocrites. You know they haven't adopted any children.
