Sarah Palin is scheduled to speak to Hollywood conservative group Friends of Abe Friday, a source with knowledge of the situation says.
The location is Brentwood's Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel, the same venue that hosted Donald Trump in July, the source, who did not want to be identified, said.
The occasion is the FOA's holiday party, the source said, and it'll be the first time a speaker will be featured at the annual event.
The onetime governor and vice presidential candidate is expected to deliver remarks about the "war on Christmas," the recurring controversy that reemerged this month when Starbucks unveiled red, holiday-neutral cups for the season.
You know I think if Abraham Lincoln were to actually meet these "Friends of Abe" he would probably vomit right into his beard.
Well IF Palin is actually going to this event, then she might also make the last book signing on her schedule at the Oak Tree Gun Club in California.
However considering the fact that her recent appearances have attracted smaller crowds than a garage sale in the Sahara, she just might quit on this as well.
After all, that is what she is most famous for doing.
I only decorate with non-religious items. Santa, Frosty, Nightmare Before Christmas, Grinch, etc are welcome, along with the tree (sans angel), the wreaths, lights, anything without a Christian Jesusy theme. I love the look of the lights and ornaments, but will not pretend that this holiday is anything but a rip off of pagan rituals, usurped by materialistic corporate greed.

It really is an INSANE fucking book.
I highly encourage IM readers to get a copy and you'll immediately feel like you are on psychedelics, without the mushrooms.

Normally, Amazon lets you look inside the book using a key word or phrase in the search box. This book does not let you look inside. But, you can click on the audio symbol, where the guy will tell you that there will be no recording to listen to until the book is released. Wow, they are doing everything to promote that book, aren't they.

Weigh that against the marginal power of the sales rank algorithm. If only a few more of you buy the book, even if you all bought it in the same hour, since Sarah's book ranking is already very low, you're not going to bump her book ranking "up" very much.
What you are going to do, with the power of your review, is to skew things more towards exposing Sarah and company for what they really are.

ReplyDeleteThere are three main factors that affect what is going on to what we perceive on Amazon.
I have at this point published over a dozen books (mostly under pen names) there; both ebooks and regular print books and books that are available under both Kindle and print platforms.
There are three factors that you need to consider on Amazon:
Sales Rank
Verified Purchase reviews
and "votes" on reviews, verified or not (that button you see when you log in to your account at Amazon that says "Was this review helpful to you?" and you can vote no or yes.
Sales rank numbers fluctuate rapidly in the short term and are mostly manipulated by paid buyers like book clubs, religious book clubs, paid buys, etc. Those are designed to artificially drive up sales rank in the short term and you can't really prevent those. Sarah still has her protectors and her sock puppets driving up those ranks....but only TEMPORARILY, okay?
The more relevant things are verified purchaser reviews; which are ranked VERY HIGHLY in Amazon's internal algorithms. And then there are the votes on each review, whether it's a verified purchaser or not.
If you want to drive a book down to the depths of Amazon's nether regions, you do two things:
Post as a verified purchaser and vote it down to one star
OR
Vote as a logged in Amazon member and where it says "Was this review helpful" vote no. Then it gets buried to a lower spot.
Verified purchasers are always ranked higher if they post a review.
I love how folks are posting those extremely clever "five star" reviews, and everybody is upvoting them. That's one great way of doing it.
And if you are a verified purchaser, your review, the moment it is posted, is automatically given a higher ranking in the reviews that are displayed under reviews than non-verified purchases posting their reviews.
It may seem like a technicality, but it's not; if you post a verified purchase one star review it will last for fucking YEARS and have more sticking power than any other type of review.
Anyway, just wanted to share this. I have published over a dozen books, mostly under pen names, and this is what I have personally seen and witnessed.
Don't worry about sending Sarah "money" if you purchase her book as it will likely go right to her publisher since her publisher already paid her a huge advance, poor fucks.
But if you do buy the book, join me in destroying/dissecting it. I'm not lying; this book is BIZARRE and the creative spirit/comedienne in me is coming up with so much good stuff to write in my review --- please join me!

I've been trying to prove my belief Sarah palin is commenting as Haleysfifth over on the Amazon site. When I first reviewed that owners profile - I was absolutely convinced it's the Wasilla witch because her previous "reviews" included books by several of her BFF's - Beck, Trump, ALL palin books including her baby maker daughter, and others. Also, she reviewed 2 books on extreme anger issues and some other VERY interesting titles. Before I could write them all down, her profile was changed and now only shows a half dozen reviews but the one most damning is her review of the Michael J Fox book on his disease and the importance of stem cell research - she wrote a nasty review on his book and there's no way anyone can convince me I'm wrong after I saw her initial profile. I also believe "Haleysfifth" is her reference to how many babies Brissypants popped out - this newest one being the 5th. I urge everyone to go over to Amazon and check it out - she reads this blog hourly I'm sure so you better hurry before she removes more of her public info - just go to the review, click on the users name and it takes you to their profile where you can view all the books they reviewed and when. They can block that info so I wouldn't be surprised if that's what she ended up doing completely.

Thank you Governor Palin!! My friend pointed me to a website where the Governor has put her entire new book Sweet Freedom for people to read...FOR FREE!! My Uncle hasn't not yet sent me the copy he promised for early Christmas present.
So I've been reading the free one on the Internet! I think that is SO generous of the Governor. She know not every body can afford it (Obama economy has left so many people in the toilet and I am a poor college student). And she cares more about AMERICA then she dose about money.
I don't know if I ever have heard of any celebrity doing that. Thank you Governor Palin on behalf of all of us who are struggling! I think I'll tell my Uncle to hold on the one he's getting for me and I'll use it when she comes to Lincoln for a book signing on the next tour. The conspiracy theorist part of me thinks the cable companies are the shadow owners of Channel Master, and they put out this product to frustrate people who try to "cut the cord."

There's one that shocked me even more and sounded like it could've been Track - same palin books, including the one from Brissypants and then a bunch of gps stuff and other things along that line but there were at least 3 books about rage and how to stop them! Puke. I read about half of this book, borrowed from a friend who received it early this morning via FedEx overnight. His reaction was the same as mine: Nonsense. Palin twists scripture to support her political agenda, which isn't much any more considering the fact that her 15 minutes of fame are long gone...
UPDATE. This book is a flop. Sarah had five signings scheduled: Concord NC; Orlando FL; Naperville IL; Dallas; a small town in California. At Concord, fewer than 100 people showed up and the signing scheduled for two hours shut down after one hour. In Orlando, 750 tickets were prepared - about 100 issued, shut down after one hour. Naperville and Dallas have been cancelled. The California stop will be cancelled within a few days.

I never claimed to be a palin insider; I did have a fun contact who worked at DWTS who was sharing loads of on set info with me; Magilla Gorilla nickname and corsetry etc; and then after I got my blog going I had others reach out to me who provided me other info. Sometimes the info didn't pan out; there was one point where Palin was probably hopped up on something and everybody backstage at Fox was preparing for her to announce her Presidential run; I knew somebody there who alerted me that he/she had been alerted about this for that night's broadcast with Palin; but she must have come down off of her high and realized she could never actually endure a run so she never mentioned it. Things like that where people I knew from my show business days and current media contacts would slip me fun info about her.

I wanted to clarify something about Amazon reviews; for one of my books you'll see that although a few people gave one of my books one star reviews, the majority of reviewers were both verified purchasers and people who rated it higher, in the four to five star range; over time this has been "weighted" by Amazon's internal algorithm so when you look at the initial book description it shows as having all five star reviews; even if you drill down, not all were five star reviews.
People who were both verified purchasers, not shills with an axe to grind (Like one rather infamous regular commenter here and at Malia's blog) had their reviews weighted more highly in the end.
Anyway, I'm just trying to share about how things 'Stick" over time at Amazon in the reviews area.
I think though in this particular case since a lot of folks are posting HILARIOUS mock five star reviews and they are getting high ratings and showing first when little Palinbots go to read the reviews....that is also an excellent strategy.
I recommend rating it at an extreme; either five stars or one star; and your review will have the greatest visibility; that, plus if folks here could "vote" that the review was helpful to them (whether it's a mock five star review or a sincere one star review) will dominate the reviews section for decades to come! YAY YOU!

ReplyDeleteI looked at the Amazon link below to see where Sweet Freedom is on the Best Sellers list and to my surprise (not really), Sarah Palin's book (Was #17) fell off the front page of the Best Sellers in Christian Devotional to somewhere lower than the Top 20.

ReplyDeleteDid somebody embarrassed Sarah Palin bad enough by posting Sweet Freedom dropped out of the top 20 in Amazon's Best Sellers in Christian Devotionals that caused someone to buy up enough copies of Sweet Freedom to make her book #16? Weird how that book jumped up the list like that in a short amount of time. No worries, that book will sink as usual.
What do you mean Sarah Palin's Sweet Freedom book is number 16 on the Christian Devotional list. I remember Sarah advertised Sweet Freedom was number one. No way did Sarah's book drop down the list so fast.

Wasilla's population is over 9,000. That's 9,000 books you can sell in one evening.
