Perhaps Bernie Sanders most important point from last night's debate

Courtesy of HuffPo:

"Let me have one area of disagreement with the secretary," asked Sanders. "I think she said something like the bulk of the responsibility [for ISIS] is not ours. Well, in fact, I would argue that the disastrous invasion of Iraq, something that I strongly opposed, has unraveled the region completely and led to the rise of al Qaeda and to ISIS."

"Now, in fact, what we have got to do -- and I think there is widespread agreement here -- is the United States cannot do it alone," he continued. "What we need to do is lead an international coalition which includes very significantly the Muslim nations in that region who are going to have to fight and defend their way of life."

I don't think that there can be any disagreement that George W. Bush broke the Middle East, and that the next President of the United States is going to be called upon to help fix it.

The sooner Hillary Clinton accepts that fact the better it will be for all of us.

And more than that the next President is going to have to realize that unmanned drone attacks raining down death in mainly Muslim communities is ultimately going to do more harm than good.

You cannot kill an idea with a missile, but you can work to change that idea into something willing to compromise.

I suspect that Hillary believes this well and is probably just saving this argument for ammunition in the general election to make the case that we cannot elect another Republican and especially another Bush. She's nobody's fool.

I agree. After having served as Secretary of State for as long as she did, Hillary Clinton does not need to be schooled about the Middle East by anyone.

Darn straight, Bernie, and Hill voted for that war over, what we know now, to be false information. Florida "hanging chads," Jeb Bush on that plane, Supreme Court WTH decision on who did NOT win the election. Within 10 months. over 3000 dead.

Keep talking, Bernie, scream it if you have to.

Bernie voted AGAINST the Brady Bill. Not a good thing. Hillary has admitted it was a mistake to vote for the war.

I feel the Bern! I contribute to Sanders' campaign because I want him to keep talking and telling the truth, not that I think he will win the primary..

Americans very much need to have this discussion re: Bush's Wars of Opportunity. Elect warmongering idiots and see what you get.

The middle east was broken many hundreds of years ago. By religion. The wars that have been going on since have been over interpretations of religion. There is nothing outsiders (US) can do to fix that.

They must either kill themselves off, or finally come to the conclusion that religion is about power, not a god; and settle their power/territory differences.

uhhhhhhh.... earth to Frosty... those who use religion for power, in the middle east, have long since come to the conclusion that religion is about power. They know it quite well. Duh. That is why they are in power. That and the firepower to back them up. Religion is just a tool in the toolbox though. Religion could not exist at all, and that part of the world would still be fighting and backwards and violent. Believe it.

  6. While I agree Bush started the unraveling of the Middle East, Obama has his share of blame. His assassination by drone policies and continued collateral damage to innocent civilians has increased the number of people who want to do us damage. Our support of the Saudis who are the worst of the worst radical Muslims doesn't win us any friends either.

Drones, however, are sure an improvement over thousands of lives, ours and those of Middle Easterners, lost or shattered by severe injury. Ever since George W. Bush and his pals ripped the lid off the Pandora's box that is the Middle East, chaos has reigned there. It's not simply a matter of "talking the bad guys 'round" and I would expect that anyone running for President would understand that it is a complex and longstanding problem. To hear Bernie Sanders blaming Hillary Clinton for the miseries of the Middle East is unrealistic, uninformed and unhelpful.

George Bush will never live down what he did. NEVER!

@6:44, I would argue that the drone attacks would not be necessary if Iraq had not been invaded under false pretenses.

A poll taken right after the debate the other day, said Sanders won the debate.

Nazi ideology still exists, but the worldwide threat was killed off by bombs, guns, and violent killing.
