Saudi Arabia threatens to sue any Twitter user who compares them to Daesh. Sounds a little terrorist like to me.

Courtesy of The Independent:

Saudi Arabia will sue any Twitter user who compares the Kingdom’s recent decision to execute a poet to punishments handed down by Isis.

Ashraf Fayadh, a 35-year-old Palestinian poet, was sentenced to death for apostasy – renouncing one’s faith – by a court in Abha on 17 November, according to documents seen by Human Rights Watch.

The sentence has provoked widespread condemnation, not only from international human rights organisations but also from legions of Twitter and other social media users.

"The justice ministry will sue the person who described ... the sentencing of a man to death for apostasy as being `Isis-like'," a justice ministry source told newspaper Al-Riyadh.

So I guess that if somebody were to tweet or blog this chart that would open them up to a potential lawsuit?

Oops.

Here's an idea Saudi Arabia. If you don't like being compared to a terrorist organization that kills people indiscriminately, DON'T be just like a terrorist organization that kills people indiscriminately.

Just trying to help.

Sounds a lot like Donald Trump and his plans to sue any news organization that "lies" about him. He can lie all he wants about anything and anybody but . . . .

Saudi Arabia has lots of problems with ISIS. They could start solving their problems by not supporting the movement.

One of my current gripes about the Middle East is that these countries should be the first to offer respite to the Syrian refugees. After all, it's basically the same culture and language. How much have the Saudi princes done to help any ordinary people in that region? There's lots of wealth in the Middle East; it's time that the governments there started to help the people. Beheading is not the answer.

Suing like ex-husband Tawd and S'error threatened to do, yet never did? Gee, I wonder why.

      Good luck with that, Donnie.

  2. Carmen bin Laden wrote a memoir about her marriage to the eldest bin Laden brother. When she realized that if he died her children would go to one of his brothers, she was able -- miraculously -- to get a divorce. She called Saudi Arabia "the Taliban with money." Indeed. A very weird "ally."

Ask 9/11 families that lost loved ones, firefighters and police that survived, about that day. Collateral damage.

What's wrong, Saudi Arabia? We can't call a spade a spade?
I will exercise my right of free speech any damn time I want to, and you and your Bush family bully buddies can suck on it.

  5. It's time to get the band back together: US, Russia, and Iran. France can play keyboards if they wish, too. Screw the Sauds and Turkey. And their buddy Likud. Germany and England too, they're no friends of ours.

And this is the elephant in the room. While we keep wanting to say it's not Islam, it IS Islam. Saudi Arabia is a big player, not just politically but religiously. It's where Mecca is.. It's like saying the Vatican is not "real" Christianity, when it clearly is. And the simple truth is, this mainstream version of Islam is fundamentalist. If they don't have any tolerance for someone within their culture, why would they have tolerance for us? If they blow up their own monuments, their own pre-Islamic history, and kill or marginalize old cultures like the Assyrians....what does that tell you?

While I'm the first to admit Bush made a mess of things and actually created a lot of this terrorism, people have to understand that cultures in the middle east have been fighting Islamic Fundamentalism and Islamic Extremism since the 7th Century. We didn't invent it, we didn't start it, we didn't cause it. We just walked into the buzzsaw, was all that happened.

The best thing the West can do is stay fast to our own secular values, not give in to their demands under calls of racism or Islamophobia, and be a beacon to humanity.

Maybe one day Arabs will reform their religion, (and thus their culture) the way Europe did during the Reformation when they broke away from the Vatican. But I'm not holding my breath, because that religion was designed for conquest and conversion and centralized power. To be a Muslim means you pray towards Mecca or else you don't pray. To be Muslim means you go to the Haij as mandatory. These are tenants, I just don't see that changing, it would be considered apostosy, which they're executing a man for right now.

Nowhere do you mention that the Saudis have their own sect of Islam, and it's an extreme one.

Now why would you do that? Let me guess.

The Arabs kept science and math thriving when the West descended into the religious dark ages of 600CE-1300CE. They too will eventually have a reformation and dispense with the extremists. Unfortunately the extremists are upon the West once again but hopefully we eradicate them and their poor thinking before the drive our culture into another dark age.

Religious extremism in any of it's various flavors is anti-human. When are all those lemmings going to get a clue? Sue me fuctards, for all the good it's gonna do you little 'princes'.

Religion is the opiate of the masses. Until it becomes the death of the masses.

When you have the likes of many of our politicians saying they are 'christians' and continually displaying themselves otherwise it makes one question their 'faith' teachings! As an an atheist, they make me shake my head in wonderment.

Most of them constantly lie, show themselves to be racists, are anti women's rights and are doing everything they can in parts of the US to stop minorities from voting for the 2016 election. And, they call themselves American?

Most of these 'non Christian actors' reside in the Republican party. Vote as many as possible out of office folks and make sure Trump is cut off at the knees. He's doing nothing but harm the USA! Palin has already done her work, but has been shut down finally!

Interesting ... Saudi Arabian Najmaldeen Essam H. al-Hemsi/al-Himji knows he can get away with crimes if he commits them in the US. This jerk rented from me and left over $3,000.00 in damage (for stealing, theft, drinking alcoholic beverages, and probably slander). He is now studying somewhere in NY, but refused to give me his forwarding address there so I could take him to small claims court to collect. It's no surprise that the Saudis at the cultural affairs office, Wail Elatta, in Fairfax, VA are protecting him.

The Saudis are not our friends.
