Courtesy of Yahoo News:
Greg Fisk, the mayor of Juneau, Alaska, has been found dead at a home in the city, police said on Monday.
Police responding to an emergency call found Fisk, 70, and pronounced him dead at the home in the state capital, Juneau's police department said in a statement. Alaskan media reported he was found dead in his own home.
A police spokeswoman said an investigation into the "unattended death" was underway but said she had no further information on the cause or circumstances of Fisk's death.
Police said a man, who they did not identify, made an emergency call on Monday afternoon to report a deceased person inside a residence.
I know that a lot of you are interested in this story since you sent it to me at least four times so far.
As it turns out James Brooks, a reporter from the Juneau Empire, is also a Reddit user and this is what he shared late last night:
The Juneau Police Department is sending Fisk's body to Anchorage for an autopsy to confirm a cause of death. That will take several days.
There are a lot of rumors floating around social media that say he was killed in an assault. Fisk's closest neighbors heard no such thing, and police are awaiting the results of an autopsy.
Fisk's body was discovered by his son, who began shouting and called for help.
Fisk did not die of suicide. There are no links to a recent double murder in Juneau. There were no signs of a break-in.
Deputy Mayor Mary Becker will serve as acting Mayor until a special election can be held to fill the mayorship.
I would urge everybody to keep the conspiracies to a minimum as the police work the case.
I will update this story as more details emerge.
That's a photo of a HEALTHY looking, handsome older guy to me..... hmmm.....
ReplyDeleteDon't assume that a 70 year old who looks healthy cannot die of a heart attack or stroke.
DeleteHealthy looking 70-yr old men have heart attacks and strokes all the time, and die from all sorts of other reasons. I knew a very healthy 40-yr old woman (a "jock") who died suddenly one night due to some sort of drug interaction associated with prescription meds she'd been taking for a shoulder injury. Sh*t happens.
DeleteMy governor died in the 90s. Very fit. Heart attack
DeleteMy significant other is in his early sixties, handsome, healthy looking, fit, trim, active, exercises, etc. and has severe afib. Spent 12 days in CICU a year and a half ago, and this Thanksgiving weekend damn near died.Looking at him, no one would ever think for a moment that he had severe health problems of any kind.
DeleteSeventy years old? It is reasonable to think first of a sudden cardiac event or stroke.
My 64 year old younger brother, robust and healthy-looking (more than I am) died in his sleep sitting in his armchair a year ago, suddenly and with no previous complaints of illness. It can happen to anybody.
Delete6:53, also Nefer and Kajo, make points we often want to push aside. Life is fragile, and becomes more so with every second.
DeleteJesus, why all the crazy speculation?? 70 year old man found dead in his home. First place my mind goes is heart attack or stroke...not home invasion.
ReplyDeleteTotally have to agree: too much paranoia nowadays.
DeleteThree Score and Ten are supposedly the allotted years, so this isn't really a surprise. A respectful nod for his passing is not out of line here.
I'm sure, if we're patient, we will hear from the all-knowing head-tilt guy with more info. hu?
DeleteI just wrote that my gov died of a heart attack randomly.
Delete"Anonymous 6:31 AM Jesus, why all the crazy speculation??"

I agree.
I find it hilarious that the King of the Trig Truthers is calling for everyone to keep the conspiracies to a minimum. Ha ha!
ReplyDeleteWe laugh at Sarah and her impaired mind every fucking day.
Delete6:34 I am LMAO also.... and not just at the Palin conspiracies, every other liberal go to story of late especially all the liberal blogger driven anti police fiction being pushed. LMFAO.
DeleteI think 6:34 wander over here from the pond, hoping to find numerous posts filled with Palin related conspiracies to trot back to c4p with. Sorry, but we leave the insane, false narrative to your group.
DeleteYes, thank goodness the Tea Party never believes in conspiracies or false flags, or that the media is biased, or that elections are being stolen or that the POTUS is a sleeper agent/Muslim, or that the Democrats and Republicans are working together to control us, or Jade Helm or..
Delete7:14
DeleteOh yeh, rethuglicans are superior. Just look at their candidates for POTUS. ROFLMAO
Sure thing 7:28... whatever you say...
Delete"I would urge everybody to keep the conspiracies to a minimum as the police work the case."
Hahahahahahahahaaaaaa!!!!
Bi-polar or similar. Been convinced of that for a while.
Awwwww! Isn't 7:40 'special'? Playing psychologist so early in the morning. Or, is it pm in NZ?
Delete7:40
DeleteNo need to broadcast your mental health issues here.
6:34, A for effort, but seriously, how can you compare the untimely, but unsurprising for his age, death of a man with the crazy, suspicious, ridiculous, convenient, and politically expedient "pregnancy" of a known liar?
DeleteExcept there is plenty of evidence (photographic, witnesses, anecdotal, conflicting statements) to cause doubt that Sarah Palin gave birth to Trig. There is zero proof that she is his biological mother - and to settle matters once and for all, she won't even provide his birth certificate, even though she has falsely claimed that she has. There are plenty of reasons to doubt Palin's story about being pregnant with/giving birth to Trig, because the story simply does not add up.
DeleteOTOH, there is no reason yet to suspect the mayor died of anything but natural causes.
Pretty hard for Sarah to have been pregnant with Trig since she had a tubal ligation after Piper...
DeleteThe bottom line really though 9:52, is Sarah Palin has zero obligation to provide you or anyone else the 'proof' you so desire. Zero. You say 'to settle matters once and for all'... settle what 'matters'? The 'matters' in your little pea-brain? As far as Palin is concerned, there are no matters to settle, why should she care what you want?
DeleteAs far as evidence goes, there is as much anecdotal evidence that she is the mother, as much as she isn't. So you have nothing besides what you have swallowed from your blogs.
I don't think the kid is hers either, but at this point, it really doesn't matter. And it never will.
If you think you have can it both ways, 11:59, you sure don't know human nature.
DeleteWhat 2:06? Don't understand what you mean, pls clarify if you don't mind.

DeleteThe bottom line really though 9:52, is Sarah Palin has zero obligation to provide you or anyone else the 'proof' you so desire.
****
YES she does! She showed a faked "Paper" as her "medical" fitness to be VPOTUS ! She paraded a kid and claimed said kid was her DS kid.
TriG was her "pro-life" cred.
You are so full of shit.
And you know why? SHE can't give the proof. All you aholes who wanted proof of President Obama's BC and got it we never seen SHIT about TriG BC.
B/c Bristol had TriG. And Tripp, And Kayla (DWTS baby) and Junker baby (McKinleys kid) and now this new little bastard. FIVE kids by Ms. Abstinent! Who got paid plenty to promote abstinence! What a fake fucking Lyin' ass family. You should be ashamed to defend them. But you are too flippin' stupid.
3:21 did you blow out your anus gasket on that lol?
DeleteNo. Palin is not obligated to provide anything you want. BTW there is no medical requirement for P or VP, most provide some kind of doctors sign off just to satisfy the doctors.
And if you weren't so stupid and full of stupid rage, you would realize nobody is defending them. But that doesn't change the fact that they owe YOU NOTHING. Which is exactly what YOU are going to get. NOTHING. LOL at YOU.
lololololol.
She may think she owes us zero. However the truth is there, and will always be there. Its not going away, sarah and bristol. You are nothings. You will never amount to anything. Lepers in your own state. Criminals.
DeleteNo the obvious speculation would be to wonder if he had any dealings with the Palin Mafia.
ReplyDeleteDead in his home hu...head tilt...sounds like some bills are coming due...oh shit grab your ass...Lol...
DeleteI doubt that there are Palin Mafia members in Juneau -- the Palins hated it there, couldn't wait to abscond to Anchorage and back to Wasilla.
DeleteOf course, Todd could fly one of their minions in a stealth flight down to Juneau -- but why?
/sarcasm -- I think sometimes we attribute a bit TOO much power to the Palin Mafia. Their bailiwick is in the Matsu Valley, isn't it?
Juneau folks detested the Palins too - reason the Palins don't like it there. And, also the reason they've not been back to the small town in southeast Alaska since she quit as governor - mid term.
DeleteSince Sarah Palin burned her bridge to nowhere and can't be president, vice-president, Secretary of Energy, Governor of Alaska or Mayor of Wasilla, maybe there is a job for her in Juneau?
ReplyDeleteI'm assuming Gryphen will imply that Sarah Palin and her posse had something to do with this.
ReplyDeleteI know for a fact that she was part of it. Donald Trump told me so it must be true.
DeleteI'm assuming you are the one posting all the Palin remarks, in an attempt to make Gryphen and IM look as nutty as your cult.
Delete6:51, you don't read and comprehend too well, do you?
Delete"I would urge everybody to keep the conspiracies to a minimum as the police work the case."
That's the next to the last line Gryphen wrote in his posting. Doesn't sound as though he is implying ANYTHING - with the possible exception of "let's wait and see".
And just where was Sarah around the time of death??
ReplyDeleteGo back to the pee pond, MJ.
DeleteWhat was this guy's political affliation?
ReplyDeletePretty sure a Chupacabra got him.
ReplyDeleteYou could show a little respect for the passing of another human being.
DeleteHey now! I grew up in the southwest, and chupacabras are very real. So are brujas, la Llorna, and cucuy. Ask any child under 12
DeleteNot an appropriate comment, in my opinion.
DeleteIt would be irresponsible not to speculate.
ReplyDeleteC4p too dead nowadays? They love unfounded claims.
DeleteNot to be picky, but until an autopsy is done you cannot rule out suicide.
ReplyDeleteThis c4per is trolling for comments to post on his "blog".

Anonymous 6:51 what did Gryphen write that made you think he was implying the infamous Palin family had something to do with the death of Greg Fisk? If you ask me Gryphen sound respective and concerned about a fellow Alaskan and his family. What more can Gryphen say than let the police do their job and he will update America as details emerge? Tell me Anon 6:51 are you trying to start shit? You must not be from these parts!
Gryphen said, and I quote :
I would urge everybody to keep the conspiracies to a minimum as the police work the case.
I will update this story as more details emerge.
Gryphen at 6:00 AM
Sorry sb: respectful not respective
Delete8:19 am., you are right. I didn't read this article closely enough. Gryphen DID say he didn't want to start conspiracy theories. I just found it odd that he'd report an a person in Alaska being found dead and not mention the Palins in connection with it. But of course he was only reporting on a news story. Sorry. My bad. And I didn't mean to take away from the seriousness of what happened here. Obviously, its a tragedy when anyone is found dead. My sympathies to this man's family and friends.
ReplyDeleteAlaska sure has it's quota of mysterious deaths for a small population. If this 'investigation' is done by the same State investigators who have special allienges to certain people, then who can really know who is telling truth or lies?
ReplyDeleteWasn't there a story of an Alaskan coroner who was giving out false autopsy results?
"Alaska sure has it's quota of mysterious deaths for a small population."
Delete-----------------------
Maybe, but at this time there is nothing mysterious about this death. A 70 year old man died suddenly. Nothing shocking or surprising about such a thing.
I feel sad for Juneau. From everything I've read he would've been a great mayor.
ReplyDeleteThank you; he would have. Our little community has been shook to the core recently from the epidemic heroin overdoses, double homicide and now the death of a great Alaskan who had such good visions for Juneau's future. When JPD suggests the death was suspicious is cause for some to begin to speculate, especially since two young people were murdered in our town just last month. We are all hoping foul play had nothing to do with his passing.
DeleteOT-DEAD MEN.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.vanityfair.com/news/2015/11/reagan-administration-response-to-aids-crisis
I'm sorry to hear about his death. But, yes, Jesse, he was 70 and the mostly likely cause of death is either a sudden health issue (i.e. heart attack) or a fall at home that caused a fatal injury. No reason to speculate until there is some kind of info suggesting some other cause.
ReplyDeleteMy mother died of an aneurysm when she was 66. Another friend was just 33 when she died of a brain aneurysm. Happens to healthy people. It's like a ticking time bomb in the brain. Can burst at any moment.Condolences to the family of the mayor.
ReplyDeleteWhenever Mrs. Palin and her baritone challenged husband are hinted at having carried out some cloak and dagger type nefarious deeds which included arson and capitol murder, I am reminded of the hackneyed plot device of a brilliant serial killer a la Hannibal Lechter when of course almost most of these murderers are found to be dull and ordinary save for their penchant for dispatching strangers. Unless I'm very wrong these two chowderheads couldn't orchestrate a jay walking caper, it would confound them. Their rise to prominence or infamy is the result of the dumbest fucking luck in recent memory and their slide into irrelevance and low comedy was predictable and inevitable.
ReplyDeletewell said, Lad
DeleteAnonymous 8: 59,
ReplyDeleteI'm Anonymous 8:19. My apologies that my response came off kind of strong. I'm critical of people who attack Gryphen and like all loyal IM'ers if someone sounds like a troll then troll beware! 8:59 your response sounds like you are an IM team player.
Right now we're not accusing the Palins of foul play regarding Greg Fisk's death but since Sarah Palin brought it below, is it time to confess if you or you know anybody who was involved in Curt Menard Jr's death, Dar Miller's death and all the unexplained arson fires in Alaska?
ReplyDeleteToday, try to remember it's our responsibility to always tell the truth —including calling a sin a sin.
- SarahPalin
"8:59 your response sounds like you are an IM team player."
ReplyDeleteActually, I'm a socially conservative Republican who voted for Sarah Palin in 2008 and disagrees with Gryphen on most issues. The majority of people here wouldn't even want me for a friend. But I like to read from a variety of perspectives. And I actually do understand the Left's charges of hypocrisy regarding Sarah Palin, and especially toward Bristol. The Palins are an embarrassment to conservatism and the time has come for the conservative movement to admit this and ask the whole family to refrain from speaking in the name of any conservative values. Being willing to help the Palins in private doesn't mean we should still publicly associate them with any of our causes or political groups. It is time for conservatives to act with dignity and self-respect and admit the obvious: the Palins are a dysfunctional family and our association with them was a huge mistake from day one.
As long a we didn't talk politics, and you are thoughtfully intelligent and a good human, I'd be your friend, 11:55.
DeleteI have a diverse group of friends, their hearts being in the right place is what matters. Oh, and honesty :)

Are you the one who is supporting Cruz, @11:55?
Deleteyou voted for McCain in 2007, not Sarah.
Delete2008 I meant, sorry.
DeleteWatching too much CSI can drive people nuts. He could have tripped down steps, died in his sleep, heart, organ failure, blood clot, strangulation, gun, a bear, anyurism, choking, electrocuted, accidental overdose, ........ if you hear two notes and Marishka Hargitay approach, let me know what she comes up with.
ReplyDeleteRest In Peace. Mr Fisk.
"Are you the one who is supporting Cruz, @11:55?"
ReplyDeleteYes, in a recent post someone said "he must be a Trump supporter." I mentioned that I'm a she and am supporting Cruz (but this doesn't mean I'll necessarily agree with everything he says. No two people will ever agree on 100% of anything.) However, whoever the Republicans nominate had better not put Sarah Palin on the ticket. I can't cut the Palin family any more slack. It's over.
Don't worry - @4:29. They'll put cop & veteran killer Carly Fiorina on the GOP ticket as VP. How disgusting that you call yourself a Christian and support awful people like Cruz & Fiorina whose rhetoric inspires the deaths of those who serve us. You must be a nutter.
DeleteThere are now police reports of signs of trauma on the body of the dead Mayor. But they are still doing medical investigations, and have not stated the exact cause.
ReplyDeleteStill doesn't mean anything. He could have passed out and fell, causing bruises.
DeletePalin is innocent! She has a real fancy gig coming up.
ReplyDeleteNew wigs being fitted, botoxed to the hilt , facials,

Heart attack.
ReplyDeleteStroke.
Aneurism.
Could have been a lot of things.
Just because you appear healthy doesn't mean you are.
I remember a young guy I went to college with that died in his twenties. He was married, had just gone for a job and came home and sat on the couch. His wife came in to call him to dinner and he was dead. Heart attack.
My brother was 55 when he had a heart attack and he's plenty fit. Turns out he also had several clogged arteries.
It can happen at any time.
