The evolution of the Republican voter.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I actually prefer the moron to the lunatic.

That's exactly right! I actually heard people saying back in 2000 2004 they were voting for Bush cause they thought he was the kinda guy you can have a beer with. Opposed to the very stiff Al Gore and equally stiff John Kerry. What stupid people. I worked in a newsroom in 2000 and actually took a call from a woman who said that she heard " if Al Gore gets elected, we'll lose our guns." I kid you not. And that has still been the rallying cry of conservatives. That and abortion. And it's only intensified.

      Ironically, GW is a teetotaler.

Supposedly. Remember the pretzel incident? He fell and banged his face up and claimed it was because of eating pretzels. Uh huh. And there were photos taken of him in 2008 while he was on his year-long, world-wide 'farewell tour' when he was at the Olympics (when he pinched Karrie Walsh's butt) he looked crocked! Glassy eyed, and making stupid faces. Yeah, W.'s a teetotaler all right.

I believe the correct phrase is "dry drunk."

Yep. Never thought I'd see the day when I would appreciate W's teeniest bit of redeeming social value (his call not to blame all Muslims for 9/11 and he did eventually stop calling the fight against Al Kaeda a crusade. A slow learner but occasionally educable). I have yet to see anything positive in T Rump.

This is a great cartoon...really sums up the GOP in 2015. I will say it again, The Donald is looking for a graceful way to lose, he can not bear seeing the tally state by state who wins and loses during election night. He will leave the GOP, go Independent as this gives him the perfect graceful way to lose. He can blame, blame, blame to his hearts content and feel sorry for us all. The best read I had was the British parliament debating on a permanent ban to the UK...can you imagine if all the other countries followed suit? He has a lot of business interests in the Muslim world...good luck with that. This has to be the biggest hoax ever perpetrated on our super dumb, lazy media...the land of sheep.

Sadly, they are not mutually exclusive.

Come to think of it, I wouldn't call the GOP base lunatics. It is more as if they have just added mean and nasty to moron.

There is not an intelligent, SANE candidate on their side for them to vote for!! Trump seems to be the "pick of the litter"

  6. You may want to rethink that statement. The former got us into the war that opened the door for the other.

The reality is the republican party has been headed down this path for decades. I was late to the party and didn't start becoming aware of its institutional hate until Rush Limbaugh began to dominate conversation. Since then they've gotten cockier and bolder until we have arrived at the point we are now.

On MTP yesterday Todd and company said other candidates from both parties were losing ground because they just weren't attracting interest as is Trump. I find that statement to be breathtakingly disingenuous. Trump can be stopped dead in his tracks by not covering him. He knows how to use the media and the media allows him to use them like a whore.

The problem with republicans is even when they express good ideas, they align themselves with other ideas and policies that are so repugnant, and they refuse to exhibit the integrity to call out those who damage the party. Winning an extremist base outweighs decency.

Now that this awful shit is just right out in the open for all to see I think people are speaking up finally. Certainly the rest of the world is shaming this talk.

  9. My prediction about Donald Chump....he'll follow in Baldy's footsteps and announce a press conference on a Friday morning and quit the race!

He'll put the blame on Melonoma(great name for his "cantmovemyface" wife!). He'll say something like she's afraid he's going to be assainated!

You heard it here first folks!

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Gina, as always, you are spot on! I'm thinking this started out as a whim and a joke for Trump. Now it's snowballed! He's an egomaniac for sure, but as long he keeps jabbing Jebbie and Jebbies poll numbers sink, I'll enjoy the show!

Are you jealous of Trump's wife? You don't know jackshit about anything. Go crawl back into the sewer where you came from.

7:09, whoa, slow down there pardner! The Donald has been married 4 times(?) 3 at least, has declared bankruptcy several times and still the Puritan Christian cons love him up. He's put his wife out in the public eye - she's fair game. Mrs. Obama has been the subject of the most despicable, racist, horrific cartoons, emails and memes since before her husband was legally elected by a majority of Americans in 2008. Quit worrying about Melania Trump - she better be able to take the heat ( if it doesn't melt her face!).
