I do not usually believe in bad omens, but come on!
As it turned out this happened while Trump was posing for the picture that he hoped was be on the cover of Time magazine after they chose him as their "Person of the Year."
However instead Time chose German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Which as you might imagine did not go over well with Trump.
I told you @TIME Magazine would never pick me as person of the year despite being the big favorite They picked person who is ruining Germany
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 9, 2015
Such a baby.Of course Trump can always take solace in the fact that a Neo-Nazi leader thinks he is the real deal:
“Donald Trump is the real deal,” said William Daniel Johnson, chairman of the openly white supremacist American Freedom Party. “This is a unique phenomenon in modern politics,” he told teleSUR. “It is a throwback to a previous era.”
So that along with Palin's recent defense, and the fact that his poll numbers shot up again, should be enough to soothe his bruised ego.
After all, it's really all about ego, isn't it?
By the way Brian Beutler over at Salon, thinks that Donald Trump has performed a kind of service to the nation.
In that he proved Liberals have been right about the Republican party all long:
On the left, the view that Republicans allowed the conservative grassroots to turn their party into a political action committee for white ressentiment has evolved over the years from an argument into a creed. Since at least 2012, liberals have been warning (at times mockingly, but never disingenuously) that by indulging and at times fanning the hostilities and procedural extremism of this part of their coalition, Republicans were letting expediency get the better of them.
When large swaths of the conservative movement resisted the notion that the GOP needed to widen its appeal to minorities, and could win by appealing to a broader base of whites, it was liberals who warned that these voters would drag the party into a racial abyss.
Trump is the fulfillment of that prophecy.
That point is driven home even further by the fact that since Trump made his remarks about keeping Muslims out of the country his poll numbers have only gone up.
Gee usually when I get to say I told you so I feel kinda please with myself.
But this time I feel a little sick to my stomach.
Any ideas on what he will say next to increase his lead?
ReplyDeleteHow about -- "Let's call a spade a spade, those lazy n**ggers are just free loaders on the welfare system which has gotta go when I'm President."
11:37, Why speculate in such a disgusting way, unless you just wanted to air your own sentiments? Why would we try to come up with vile possibilities for a future Trump comment? Seems like a bad path to go down.
DeleteI think 11:37's speculation is spot on and well worth doing. It's good to be reminded again and again who and what Trump is.
DeleteThose are 11:37's true feelings, so why project them onto someone else?
DeleteBecause, 12:03, this is what Trump and the GOP 'leaders' are going to do next. They are already crowning white cops who kill unarmed blacks, including children. They have totally demonized BLM for bringing the truth to light. This week it's Muslims, and immigrants of all colors, and refugees. They are saying atrocious, hateful stuff, that would have gotten them high honors in Nazi Germany. This is America, and if we let them set the agenda, no one will be safe here.
DeleteLiz & 12:58, it is stupid and pointless to speculate about what Trump will spout next. To do so only means we are no longer dealing in factual criticism of Trump, but are allowing ourselves to create ugly statements and say things like, "how long before Trump says" or "What if Trump says". Unless we are clairvoyants, we should stick to factual reality.
Delete12:03, I have no problem with calling them out for every actual thing they say and do, but draw the line at things he might say in the future. I deal with facts, not pretend shit. That is how you lose credibility. 12:03

DeleteWhat you said is offensive and disgusting.
Are those YOUR thoughts about my people?
Shame on you.
Most Black people are just as hard working as any other race in this country, I'll have you know.
And right after he's called for it, he'll say "The blacks, they love me."
DeleteDonald ripped the scab off the GOP and racist puss is flowing all over the other GOP candidates.
ReplyDeleteThis is classic Trump:
ReplyDelete"I told you @TIME Magazine would never pick me as person of the year despite being the big favorite."
He told you he wasn't going to be chosen person of the year, so you shouldn't be surprised he wasn't chosen person of the year. Also, he was the big favorite. Also, the person they did choose is a doody-head.
All he needs now is to remind us how 'liberal' and 'lamestream' the media is and he will have his victimization perfected. Palin can tutor him.
DeleteTrump is an irrelevant wimp. Too bad the media doesn't report facts.
DeleteHe's psychic, you know. I googled and couldn't find a thing on him telling anyone TIME would never pick him as "person of the year". Isn't there some kind of law about abusing a bald eagle?
DeleteBut, this maniacal maniac thinks he's the center of the universe. He's doing the Democrats a huge favor by dominating the GOP with no end in sight.
Angela Merkel,in addition to her formidable political credentials, also worked as a research scientist. She has a doctorate in chemistry.
DeleteShe leads the most powerful and economically prosperous country in the EU---but yeah, Donald, she knows nothing compared to you.
In fact, nothing could compare to you. You're too YUUUUGE!! In what way is up for debate, of course. You won't mind debate, will you? We won't even charge you $5,000,000 for the privilege of having people laugh at you.
I can't believe the true fear that I see in him at this eagle attack! I love it, the guy is such a wuss and even with all his bluster he's back down in a heartbeat and cower at any threat of physical violence. He talks a good game but he's a big fat wussy with ZERO backbone.
ReplyDeleteEagles know.
ReplyDeleteEagle sez: Biggest effing squirrel I've ever seen!

DeleteFake tv bullshiters: Trump, the entire Palin kkklan...and the Duggars!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3354798/Jessa-Duggar-seen-delivering-baby-home-ambulance-carts-away-excessive-bleeding-teaser-Counting-special.html
"Jessa Duggar was rushed to hospital on November 5 after successfully delivering her son Spurgeon at home.
The new mother had been bleeding heavily after the birth and an ambulance was called. The harrowing moments were captured in the upcoming three part docu-series Jill & Jessa: Counting On.
A new teaser for the reality special shows the home delivery and the subsequent trip in an ambulance, which Jessa, 23, likened to a 'bad dream'."

Bad Dream? MAKE THE PALIN WILD RIDE INTO A MOVIE!!!
Calm down ... it is most likely fake blood flowing from Jessa.
DeleteReality shows have to add drama and it makes the viewers feel sad for her.
Jessa is laughing all the way to the bank as she deposits her check.
She missed out too..the newest Kardashian spawn is "Saint." How could the blessed Duggar girl miss out on that name? What the heck is a Spurgeon? Obviously, this boy will never see the inside of a real school, locker room, or anywhere else young people gather. Is Spurgeon some minor prophet in the OT..nope, turns out he was a 19th century Baptist preacher, and the baby is to be called Quincy by the family. Are they all just a bit off? Although, I loved "Qunicy,MD" when it was on TV.
DeleteWill Ma and Pa Buggar be on the show? What about Pa Buggar's perv highway patrol friend?
DeleteIt's going to be on TLC. The Looney Channel.
Delete12:55 -- I thought I read that the latest Kardashian kid is called Jeezus. No?
DeleteIt's katsup she spilled on her crotch. It's never easy being a victim and persecuted, it's torture. They forced them to do another show on the lemming channel. Guess Josh will dress up as santa, and babysit for his wonderful forgiving sisters.
DeleteGone from series to three-part.
DeleteIt will probably never air.
Donald Trump: Eagle Didn’t Scare Him, TIME Shouldn’t Have Picked Angela Merkel
ReplyDeleteHe looked plenty scared to me. I've seen the footage.
DeleteIf the Republicans don't know how to get rid of Trump, his hateful remarks will be the image of the GOP
ReplyDeleteKim Davis was actually a possibility too:

He looks like he's about to sea of pee himself )see what I did there?😉)
ReplyDeleteMerkel was by light years a far better choice then tRump.
ReplyDeleteWith tRump being allowed by the press to get away with his "BULLSHIT", we have become the laughingstock and the fear of the rest of the world.
Poor Eagle! It saw road kill on Trumps head and thought lunch was served!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing. Would have been even better if the eagle had tried to lift Trump's Road Kill Toupee/Comb-over.
DeleteLiz, you couldn't be more wrong. We have to be the grownups.
ReplyDeleteYes!
Delete@1:25. Bravo! Well said.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am glad at least a few agree.
DeleteOk, I'm going out on a limb here but: I want Trump to continue on the campaign trail all the way to the convention. Why? Cause it helps sink Jeb! Bush. I think Bush is the one that could most hurst Hillary; and I want Trump to heckle and jeckle Jeb! out of the race!
ReplyDeleteAfter Carson leaves Cruz and Rubio are #2 and #3. I don't think Jeb! has a chance any way.
DeleteUnless the rig the convention and it's brokered and Jeb! is pushed behind the scenes.
I'm at the point where it's almost comical how he clings to his poll numbers. I think any show that puts him on should have their advertisers boycotted. He's fomenting hate using ignorance as his main weapon, never a good combo.
ReplyDeleteI'm with 2:13! Let him continue to campaign, he's a boon to the Democratic Party.
DeleteCanadian here .. my thoughts - given that he's getting free wall to wall minute to minute national media coverage and not having to spend his 'self-funded' campaign money on media buys, I suspect he'll only get worse with his outrageous/dangerous statements. Do you think the polling responses might be the 'Sanjaya' effect, ie, voting for the worst to skew the votes? Hope so for your sakes, then again GW Bush was voted in twice so anything could happen - hope not for you all.
ReplyDeleteBush was NOT voted in twice. Bush is an election thief. Florida and Ohio were stolen by the Bush gang.
DeleteThanks Canuck. Was around the Niagara Falls a few years back and liked the calmer vibe up there. My country has gone away from me. No country for old men. Fucking shame.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite exerpt from the Salon article "So common is it on the left to compare the Trump phenomenon (and the Sarah Palin phenomenon before it) to a Frankenstein’s monster, that the analysis has become trite."
ReplyDeleteSarah Palin did you and your boo Donnie donate money to the victims of the San Bernardino shooting. If not you will probably donate money after you read this. Most likely Sarah will toot her own horn and post on her Facebook if she decides to.
ReplyDeleteHuffington Post
Muslim Americans Raise Almost $100K For Victims Of San Bernardino Shooting
Muslim groups from across the nation gave money and support
Six days have passed since 14 people were killed and 17 injured at a social services center in San Bernardino, California. And five days have passed since Muslim groups and leaders from across the nation united to help raise nearly $100,000 for the victims' families.
Faisal Qazi, a neurologist and the co-founder of the family centered development organization MiNDS, and Tarek El-Messidi, co-founder of the Islamic nonprofit CelebrateMercy, joined forces to start the donation fund on LaunchGood Thursday, with a goal of combating hate with love.

He thinks he was the popular favorite? In his own tiny mind. Not from the list I read.
ReplyDeleteI think he's more pissed that there is now footage of him peeing his pants over this bird rather than not being picked.
I'll be anything he was told to sit still and keep his hands to himself. Instead he reached over behind the bird and leaned toward it a bit. Eagles have fabulous peripheral vision. This bird felt threatened. (Who wouldn't?) The bird has an obvious tether on his leg so he isn't going to fly off.
But still I'd bet money Trump did NOT follow directions. He's not pissed he that he's not on the cover of Time (well he is), he's pissed this footage is out there showing what a pussy he is.
What was he thinking? That he could one-up Stephen Colbert? Photoshop an eagle in later or used a stuffed bird. Better yet, WAIT UNTIL YOU HAVE THE COVER!
