Liz Cheney is seeking a return to politics with a run for Wyoming’s lone House seat.
The elder daughter of former vice president Dick Cheney is ready to announce Monday, the Associated Press first reported Saturday. She filed paperwork with the FEC on Friday to make her candidacy official.
Liz Cheney ran unsuccessfully for a U.S. Senate seat in 2013, but failed to gain traction among Wyoming’s political establishment.
In her 2013 race Liz Cheney claimed that she dropped out because of "personal reasons." That is code for "I can't get elected."
I wonder what she thinks has changed this time?
You know in the movies the children of Darth Vader turned to doing good in order to make up for their father's evil ways.
Sadly it appears that real life is nothing like the movies.

cheney doesn't command the power he once had, and throwing his spawn in the political area is his way of getting it back. She did a piss poor job when she was at the State Department, (a job daddy helped her get) it seems funny to me now, when he was VP, and had secret meetings with the Energy Department, Gasoline prices went thru the roof, Oil companies had record profits of Billions in their quarterly reports, what a difference a good President and Vice President makes.

DeleteRepublican House seats are the 'temp gigs' of the privileged conservative ruling class. It's not a lot of money (hey, YOU try living on $174k a year plus generous perks!) but there's no actual work involved and you can focus on other pursuits such as leisure reading, taxpayer-funded travel, Olympic-class prevaricating, eating, copulating, vesting in the Federal pension plan and fundraising, not necessarily in that order.

Another Obama mistake; not investigating and prosecuting the criminal wrongdoings of the Bush administration. Guys like Cheney would not be getting the air time, if he had been prosecuted and disgraced by the legal system. The same reason it was wrong to pardon Nixon. That group (which included Cheney) was left in the party and it's immoral governing tactics were kept alive and well. So 40 years later a Nixon devotee became vice president and led those criminal activities.
