One of my favorite responses from last night's debate.

Andrea Mitchell had asked Bernie Sanders about his response to a question about Bill Clinton's infidelities, in which he responded that they were "totally disgraceful, and unacceptable."

This was his response:

"That question annoys me," Sanders said.

Sanders complained that the media put too much pressure on him to attack the former secretary of state.

"I can't walk down the street — Secretary Clinton knows this — without being told how much I have to attack Secretary Clinton. Want me to get on the front page of the paper? I make some vicious attack. I have avoided doing that, trying to run an issue-oriented campaign."

"You didn't have to answer it that way, though," Mitchell said, referring to Sanders answer about Bill Clinton's indiscretions.

"Then if I don't answer it, that's another front-page story," Sanders responded.

He added: "His behavior was deplorable. Have I ever said one word about that issue? No I have not. I'm going to debate Secretary Clinton and Governor O'Malley on the issues facing the American people, not Bill Clinton's behavior."

I think my favorite part of his response was Hillary nodding her head in agreement to everything he said.

Yes, we know that Bill did a bad thing.

We also know that it was over twenty years ago and everybody else has moved on.

Well everybody except for the conservatives who are desperate to use it as an attack against Hillary that is.

It just shows the stupidity of conservatives that they would try and campaign against Bill Clinton.

Bill Clinton would walk it into the White House if he were allowed to run again.

And if they think they can make Hillary look bad for standing by her man...... then they have to hide their own multiple divorces, because if there's one thing conservatives do a lot, it's divorce- they have no higher regard for marriage than Bill Clinton did two decades ago.

    Bring it on.

AFAIC, there is no time limit on being disgusted by reprehensible behavior. Bill Clinton will always disgust me for putting his presidency at risk just so he could get his rocks off - and then lying about it under oath. Fucking self-indulgent chickenshit asshole! Too cowardly to claim his own behavior, because he knew it was low down and crass! I don't give a shit that he is a Democrat. I will always call him out on what he did.

For different reasons, George Bush, Ronald Reagan, and Richard Nixon will also always disgust me. She's not a former president, but Sarah Palin will also always disgust me. These people are are fucking frauds and liars.

There has never been any cover up of this accident, which happened long before GW. It is well known she was at fault, and she has never disputed this or tried to place blame elsewhere. She has said that she carries deep remorse about the accident to this day.

My beef with Bill (and I imagine, Hillary's beef with him as well) is that he wasn't discrete enough and couldn't keep it in his pants for the eight years he was president. It looked bad for him and for her and exposed him (pun not intended) to a lot of criticism and ultimately resulted to him lying about his behavior.

But, bottom line, who are we to question what another couple does within or outside of their marriage?

When Hillary Clinton starts running on a platform of traditional family values, then we can criticize her about what goes on in between her and her husband.

Paul Krugman Says Hillary Clinton is Right and Bernie Sanders is Wrong on Healthcare

....Most Democrats probably agree that single payer is better than what we have. It is what most of us wanted to begin with, after all. But how practical is it as a goal? Krugman reminds us that we barely got Obamacare even with a Democratic controlled Senate. If single payer had been a possibility, we would already have it....

...In Krugman’s opinion, the candidates should “focus their main efforts on other issues.” You know, those we haven’t already won, even if the victory was not all we had hoped for. Krugman lists the many problems with pushing for single payer, including the massive influence of the insurance companies, the necessity of raising taxes to pay for it – not only the rich but the middle class – and the disruption to people who already have insurance they are satisfied with.

Krugman makes a powerful argument when he says “progressives must set some priorities,” and calls Sander’s goal of single payer “a quixotic attempt at a do-over, not of a political failure, but of health reform — their biggest victory in many years.” Any president only has so much political capital. There are battles we haven’t fought and won – to any degree whatsoever – that it might make more reasonable objectives for an incoming president...

I don't think she can do it, she plays up her alliance with Cruz way too much to alienate him and his supporters to offer her firm support to Trump. Her FB post from the other day was very vague regarding her support of any specific candidate basically stating that our next President was on stage (during the last debate) but getting no more specific than that.

Plus, the way Palin operates regarding political patronage, is to wait until the person appears to be a sure thing and only then throw her support behind them. That's been her MO since claiming to have been responsible for 50% of the GOP candidates that won Congressional seats in 2010, she'd wait until they were leading and then jump in with a visit, a tiny amount of cash and a stump speech, then declare that it was her influence that brought them victory.

Guitarist Carlos Santana compares Donald Trump to a furious poop-slinging ape in hilarious open letter

Musician Carlos Santana mocked Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in an open letter posted on his Facebook page, according to International Business Times.

The message, obtained by Clutch magazine, praised President Barack Obama after his State of the Union address, and then compared Trump to an angry ape. But the open letter was deleted from Santana’s page a few days after he posted it.

“Regarding Mr. Trump,” Santana wrote. “I remember when I was a child living in Tijuana…I often crossed the border to visit the San Diego Zoo. I would hear loud screams and commotion in the distance. As I came closer to the sound, I noticed everyone was staring at an ape in a glass cage. The ape was staring back at the crowd that gathered. With an angry look of disgust, the ape defecated in his hand and threw it at the crowd. This is what I hear when Mr Trump speaks.

“He lacks consciousness as well as integrity. The Republicans and Mr Trump are selling hate and fear. That is the opposite of what our Country stands for. Let’s go forward with light and love into the future. Global Peace is within our grasp in this lifetime. Pull humanity up, take the high road and look at the aerial view. Peace on Earth now, not later.”

‘A poisonous corrosive man’: Watch this British MP bring the hammer down on Trump’s ‘violent ideology’

British Member of Parliament Tulip Siddiq urged her colleagues on Monday to support a ban on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, arguing that he would put Britons at risk by importing “violent ideology.”

The British Parliament on Monday debated banning Trump over his anti-Muslim rhetoric after more than 570,000 Britons signed a petition calling for him to be barred from entering the U.K.

Although MPs who spoke all agreed that Trump’s vitriol against immigrants had been out of bounds, most argued that banning him was not the best way to deal with the issue.

Siddiq, however, insisted that Trump would be endangering British Muslims if he was allowed into the country.

“This online petition signed by nearly 600,000 people shows that when people feel a sense of justice, when people feel we need to stop a poisonous corrosive man from entering our country, they will act in good conscience.”

“His words are not comical, his words are not funny, his words are poisonous,” she continued. “They risk inflaming tension between vulnerable communities.”

We forgot about the Starr Report and the millions it cost us to tell us something we already knew, Bill was man enough to finally admit it, Hillary and Chelsea handled themselves with grace and dignity throughout the whole matter. Linda Tripp advised Monica to save the blue dress, and got all her plastic surgery paid for free, then both slithered under their rocks.
I'm in no way condoning what Bill did, but Hillary had nothing to do with it, and it shouldn't be an issue now that she's running. Not every marriage is perfect and it's a private matter between the couple how or if to move forward.
I have to give Bernie a lot of credit for his response. We have more pressing issues to discuss than infidelity. Like Marla Maples giving birth while Trump was still married and how he'd steup the brains out of Ivanka if he wasn't her daddy.

Or how the past affairs of the husband of the POTUS puts our nation's security at risk?

4:01-you do know that virtually every man in the Oval Office from Washington on had affairs right? Just because Clinton was being targeted by Rove and company does not mean he's the first or the last. I'd say GWB was probably faithful because he has the sex appeal of a beagle, and Obama is faithful because of the man he is, but Clinton did not put the country at risk. Not once. Grow up.

Okay, 6:42PM: Who is the person or persons the president is sleeping with other than his wife? Really, who are these people , who are they connected to? And least of all, are we paying for their security detail too? Really, you didn't think Billary's affairs jeopardize the nation? YOU can suck it, 6:42PM.

What do a Bill Clinton's affairs 20 years ago have to do with Hillsry running today or being POTUS next year?

Are We Headed for Leftward Shift in Next 30 Years?

...Apart from making everyone who saw it feel all tingly inside, a commentator for the Atlantic Wire saw something deeper in this ad, namely an insight into one-fifth of the American electorate in the 2012 election known as millennials: the voters younger than 35 who, according to the Atlantic, support “the usual liberal” ideas like gay marriage and climate change.

That is true: more than 70 percent of these voters believe in legal gay marriage and nearly 66 percent of millennial voters say climate change is real, with over 80 percent of them wanting far-reaching action on climate change. (It gets to 80 percent because, amazingly, more than half of the 27 percent of millennials who have doubts about climate change still support regulation to clean up the environment and reduce fossil fuel consumption for the common good.)

Still this pigeonholing of millennials masks a deeper truth: that the youngest generation of voters has grown up committed to both personal activism and an activist government.

The most extensive survey of the millennials’ attitudes reveals almost two-thirds believe in aggressive government regulation of the economy and environment. Also, over 80 percent of these millennials say Social Security and Medicare have benefitted America and they want these programs managed—not privatized—until they retire.

A few conservatives have hit the panic button and are encouraging Republicans to change their approach, while others dismiss them as a non-factor, saying they aren’t worried about the “basement brats”—a term referring to the fact that a record number of millennials (36 percent, according to the census) are still living with their parents.

Yet conservatives should be worried: early in September, essayist Peter Beinart presented his theory that millennials will be the core of a “New Left” movement in America.

One only needs to look at Republicans for sexual scandals. OMG the hypocrisy, and it's all they talk about. If that's all they've got, they must be pretty damn worried and look so stupid.

Perhaps $arah would like to weigh in on her dalliances.

Andrea Greenspan should NOT have been asking questions. MSNBC has Rachel and Melissa Harris-Perry, and they choose Mitchell, who is almost as big a GOP suck as Toadie the News Director? Poor choice.

MSNBC wants to become the new Faux Lite. Does anyone like the new line-up of Right-leaning shows? There's Morning Shmoe in the morning (I choose to watch Stephanie Miller when I can) and then 5:00 to 7:00 there's back-to-back Conservative Chuck Toad and then the two dickheads that had that one-hit-wonder with Game Change and were given their own show time on MSNBC even though it's on Bloomberg TV at the same time. Too bad MSNBC went to the dark side.

Linda Tripp has reared her fat head again, claiming that Bill had sex with THOUSANDS of women. That's right. Thousands. I guess she needs some tweaks to the brand new unrecognizable face she bought herself after the last time she squeezed herself into the political world.

Having Chuck Todd & Andrea Mitchell as debate moderators proves MSNBC is another Fox Lite. Current MSNBC "leadership" has chosen to move into the dark side of the RW. Mitchell ought to hang her head in shame for asking Bernie about his one time remark about Bill Clinton. She won't. I refuse to watch either of their shows & the rest of the right leaning idiots they're bringing in now. Chuck & Andrea have been just like "Morning Joe" for years. Fuck em!

  32. This is why they need to be running mates, not matter who is on the top of the ticket.

They compliment each other and will be able to work together to get more done than either would separately.

I am not a fan of Hillary's. I think Obama was right on point when he said that she was "likeable enough". Hillary has not been as decent to Obama or to Sanders as they have been to her. Don't like her personality, but I will have to vote for her anyway.
