Sulphur Springs police say a man accidentally shot himself in the foot Wednesday evening at a church.
Police said at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a shooting at the Davis Street Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs. Officers discovered a person, who was not identified, had accidentally discharged his pistol and shot himself in the foot.
The victim sustained a minor wound, and no one else was hurt.Police said the shooting happened in the church's family life center.
For some reason the fact that this happened in the "family life center" makes it seem especially ironic.
Once again the best thing that can be said about this is that at least he didn't shoot somebody else.
Okay, when are they going to "learn" that their gun fetish is a bad idea because these "accidents" happen every single day now.
ReplyDeleteI believe irresponsible gun owners should be prosecuted.
I believe we should build a corral and herd them all into it, along with their 'cleaning supplies.' That would cull the herd by half within a day.
DeleteAs Dumbya would say "How ironicalistic for this to happen in the family life area" Maybe THIS is a reason for $carah to avoid churches, doncha think? Dangerous places these days.
ReplyDeleteOnly one soul, I mean sole was hurt.
ReplyDeleteHahahahahaha! Good one!
DeleteSome would say this is a case of evolution working its magic.
ReplyDeleteCan I get a halleluah?
An AMEN also, too!!
DeleteJust trying to get holey.
ReplyDeletehahahaha, awwwww.
Delete"Can I hear a hallelujah?"
ReplyDeletePraise Rambo Jebus.....looks like a Ralph Lauren model, built like the hulk, and sports an AR-15 in each hand - 3 Corinthians 9/11
DeleteAnd the best thing that can be said ain't worth much.
ReplyDeleteSo this nutbar thought he could save the day if someone came in and started shooting up that church but he couldn't even keep himself from accidentally shooting his own foot.
ReplyDeleteMeh... It's just an NRA-sponsored OOPSIE. What's the big dill? Was it YOUR foot? No, I didn't think so. According to top conservative firearms scientists a gunshot wound you do not personally receive is like the proverbial tree in the proverbial forest. It didn't happen.
ReplyDeleteMOVE ALONG!!! NOTHING TO SEE HERE!
(Tho, to all the members of Davis Street Baptist Church, I say, in the future, you might want to sit as far away from Limpy McHandgun as possible. Praise Jeebus!)
Let me get this straight. If I want to safely worship, I must wear a vest to protect me from others in my own faith? This is fucked up ten ways from sunday and Jesus H. Christ would not approve. Of that I am sure.

Frankly, I enjoy reading about stupid people with guns that go off unexpectedly. However, there are still too many tragic stories of loaded guns in the hands of young children.
ReplyDeleteAs long as the NRA continues to lobby against any rational gun control, there will continue to be reports like the above.
What level of fear infects these morons when they are so afraid of being in church they must arm themselves? Are they afraid demons are going to storm the church and they'll have to defend themselves? Like demons and the devil can be killed with a bullet?
ReplyDeleteOn another note, here is the future the NRA wants for America. Cowboy City:
"A gun store owner and his son were shot dead in Pearl River County, Mississippi, on Saturday afternoon after an argument with two customers over a service charge got out of hand, authorities said."
After all, if the NRA can turn a blind eye to a classroom of dead 6 year olds, a little spat in a gun shop is nothing, right?
Praise Zeus his head wasn't in the way. Sometimes it pays to be hung like a flea while overcompensating with a gun.
