On releasing the transcripts from her speeches, Hillary essentially says "You first."

I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours.
Courtesy of Politico:

Hillary Clinton will release transcripts to her paid speeches — just as long as everyone else does too.

“I am happy to release anything I have when everybody else does the same,” Clinton said during Thursday's Democratic town hall in Nevada, before adding that all other candidates had made paid speeches — including her Democratic rival, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Yet another Hillary non-scandal for the media to perseverate over.

I find this one even dumber than her e-mail "scandal."

Why, seriously, WHY would anybody release a bunch of transcripts that opposition researchers and right wing media outlets can pore through making mountains out of every molehill, and finding political opportunity in every word?

I would not even think this a legitimate request of say Donald Trump, who has flip flopped his entire career, or Jeb Bush, who I think we all know has said some damaging things behind closed doors, because he also says them in public.

No unless EVERYBODY on both sides volunteers to release transcripts of their speeches, there is NO legitimacy to asking Hillary to do so.

Okay, here's a challenge to the candidates, but lets face it, it only applies to Hillary, though it is on her own terms.

Let's have Hillary and Bernie both release all the transcripts of every speech they have ever given for the benefit of Goldman Sachs. How about doing that since it only holds her up to her own standard?

The reason Hillary can be so cavalier and say "you first" to Sanders is because she knows Sanders has none to release in the first place. Bernie wasn't being bought, er excuse me, paid, to make speeches on Wall Street.

She's playing fast and loose with the truth, here, and that's all I need to know to disqualify her from my vote.

Nope, that's not what she said. She said all paid speeches.

Many, many politicians leave office and make their living being paid for speeches. Why is it wrong for Hillary to do so? If someone would pay to listen to what I have to say, I would make speeches every week. Also too, where is the proof that she only says what they want to hear? It is a fact that Hillary can't be attacked on her knowledge and experience so the Repugs and St. Bernie are nitpicking. Move on!

Many politicians get paid for making speeches, many become lobbyist too. That is what has destroyed our country, it has become a country of laws for the rich and against working people. Wall Street and the 1% keep getting more, the people less.

If we don't make a change there will no longer be any middle class!

Hillari plans to make no changes, she is saying "no we can't."

He released all of his transcripts. There were none because he gave no speeches to Wall Street.

I keep going back and forth between Hillary and Bernie. Today, Bernie is winning the day.

So what? Why would Wall Street want to hear from a 30 year Senator who has no use for them at all? Hillary Clinton was FLOTUS and Secretary of State. She understands the economy, the world, and everything better than Sanders or anyone else running ever will. Did they offer her a lot of money? Yes. Has she ever put out policies specifically to favor Wall Street? No she has not. This whole thing is stupid. Don't vote for Hillary is you distrust her, but realize that your distrust is based on the GOP's lies and not on facts. The woman is amazing. She will be a stupendous leader. Give her a chance, and stop trashing her because the GOP is terrified of her power.

      3) she never SENT emails that were later classified. She RECEIVED the emails.

Democrats - a majority of the population yet allow republicans to hold both houses because they are little children who take their ball and go home if their candidate is not perfect. Bernie supporters will be just as dissapinted in Bernie as they are in Obama. Bernie has been in the senate for 20 years, and was "such a leader" that nobody knew who he was until this year. Doesn't say much for his leadership. I will vote for him if he is the candidate, but don't expect miracles. He will not prosecute Wallstreet. He will not get free college. He will not get single payer in his term(s) in office.

They learn exactly how much they did not know as candidates. That's one reason why President Obama could not do as much as he promised (with the added disadvantage of a hostile house and senate of course). Sanders will face the SAME thing as will Hillary, should either one get elected.

First, this isn't about just any speech. This is about the speeches she made to Goldman Sachs, one of the banking bailouts.

Second, like with the emails, there's excuse creep on her part about why she won't release the transcripts. For awhile she claimed there were no transcripts. Then she claimed if there was a transcript, she didn't have it, it belonged to Goldman Sachs. Then someone FOIA'd her contract for speaking at UNLV and we learned part of the contract, that appeared to boilerplate, was the fee included $1200 for a transcriptionist to attend and transcribe the speech, but that Clinton owned the transcript. So unless she's clueless about what's in her speaking contract, then she was being untruthful to claim there wasn't a transcript or if there was one, she didn't have it. If she'd said originally, you know, hold everyone else to the same standard, I would have agreed. But when it followed other excuses that turned out to be untrue, I have no sympathy for her. She's brought the problem on herself. Same with the emails. She started out claiming the only emails on that home server were about weddings, baby showers and trading recipes. Now we know that was completely untrue. I don't like people who lie when they don't have to.

Awkward? Meh. Fact. All her private speaking engagements were contracted through Harry Walker Agency. Having a stenographer record her speeches and the transcript belongs to her is a boilerplate part of her Harry Walker Agency contract.

Here's her contract by the Harry Walker Agency:
      http://www.scribd.com/doc/236937625/UNLV-Clinton-Contract
      On page 5:
      "Transcription:
The sponsor agrees to pay a fee of $1250 for the services of a stenographer who will be on site at the event. The stenographer will transcribe Speaker's remarks as they are being delivered, which will be solely for the Speaker's records. All arrangements related to the stenographer will be managed by the Agency."

So something that she supported 20 years ago is fodder for what? Like Obama on marriage equality, she has changed her views. It's called maturing; growing up; changing with the times. It indicates nothing except that she is a thinking human being, unlike Cruz and the GOP, who think Old Testament torture and killing is acceptable, despite the teachings of the man they say they follow, not to mention the 10 Commandments that they claim is the basis for US law.

The reason for wanting a transcript of an event, is a speaking event isn't just a text of a speech. Even though you have your speech that you brought, each event is different. The speaker is introduced and makes remarks to the person who introduces them. Speakers make aside remarks that aren't part of the text of their speech. Some speakers don't have a prepared speech, but speak from an outline of talking points. Someone may interrupt them and the speaker might comment. No two events will be the same.

By having a stenographer record their remarks live and transcribe them, the speaker has a permanent record of everything that was said during their time on the stage at each event.

Oh, people have had no trouble transcribing Sarah Palin's speeches. It might have driven them insane and they may not have been able to understand anything they wrote, but they have done it.

The reason Bernie Sanders wants to scream for speeches is because he was never invited by Wall St to share his views with them. And no wonder.

But it's really dirty pool for him to impugn Hillary Clinton that way and I'm surprised and disappointed in him.

The more I see of Bernie Sanders the less I like him.

Does anybody REALLY think that Hillary would start a war? Or that she is seriously in danger of going to prison?

Clinton is being dishonest (shocker). This is a democratic primary. Why would the Republicans need to release their transcripts? That request would be appropriate in the general. The reason she said that everyone had to release the transcripts was that she knew Bernie would and the Repugs wouldn't.

She probably wrote three rape stories about the women who accused Bill of rape. Lets not wander through the land of Clinton sex scandals and rumors.

How many people accused Bernie of rape and/or sexual impropriety? None.

How many people have accused the Clinton's of sexual impropriety? Legions. Bill's exploits are legendary. Hillary had an affair with Vince Foster, Webster Hubble is Chelsea's dad. Hillary is gay, Huma (sp) Abedin is her lover, etc.
Not saying any of it is true.

Clintonistas (I call Sander's supporters Sandersnistas) need to stay away from sexual innuendos. Sex is a mine field for the Clintons.

9:50 - no. Wrong. Have you read what Bernie wrote? His name is on it. It is published. What her husband did is not what she did. (What is wrong with you that you think they are the exact same person?)

I will be voting for Hillary if she gets the nomination, but I suspect there IS something to hide in these transcripts, or she would release them without pressure. If there is something to hide, I don't want them released because I want her to win the general. But I trust Bernie, not Hillary, for that very reason. And I don't see a problem with her emails except for her judgment to have mixed her personal and governmental accounts, knowing as she must have known at the time that she might run for President. I still think that's a non-issue, though, because previous SOSs did the same thing. I am surprised there was not a governmental policy about that. There should be.

Dick Van Dyke has been voting in presidential elections since casting his ballot for Harry Truman in 1948. But until this year, the last time the Television Hall of Fame actor actively campaigned for a White House contender was in 1968
