President Obama's 2017 budget cuts all funding to Abstinence Only education in this country.

Just a little something I threw together for the kids.
Courtesy of SEICUS:

Earlier today, February 9, 2016, the president released his fiscal year (FY) 2017 budget, the final budget of his administration, which continues to demonstrate his strong commitment to supporting the sexual health of our nation’s youth through age-appropriate, medically accurate, and science-based programs. In addition, the President has shown leadership in efforts to rid our nation of abstinence-only-until-marriage (AOUM) funding once and for all by not only eliminating the competitive AOUM program, but also including a legislative proposal to eliminate the Title V AOUM state grant program currently authorized at $75 million for FY 2017.

Choosing instead to focus on investing in programs that support youth access to the information and education they need to lead sexually healthy lives, the president’s FY 2017 budget request proposes increased investment in the Office of Adolescent Health’s (OAH) Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program (TPPP) and maintains current funding for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Division of Adolescent and School Health (DASH).

Can I just mention how great it is to have a President to recognizes science and understands that shaming teenagers into not having sex has NEVER been an effective method of preventing teen pregnancy or the spread of disease.

Of course as we know this is the very same budget that the Republicans rejected before they even saw it.

Still if the President manages to make these changes, and let's face it he is getting more done these days than ever before, it will be good news indeed for the young people of this country.

Okay well maybe not ALL of the young people of this country.

But let's face it, it's too late for this one anyway.

  1. Anonymous9:10 AM

    Bristol can't control her hormones

    Right Sarah?

    1. Anonymous9:32 AM

      It's Obama's fault.

    2. Does Bristol even understand the concept of sex making babies? She sure doesn't understand birth control. I'm not even sure she knows what abstinence really is.

  2. Anonymous9:12 AM

For those people, birth control consists of condoms rolled in a face cloth.

  3. Anonymous9:19 AM

Question: Todd, Sarah, Track, Bristol, Sally and Chuckie what type of birth control did you use before marriage?

Answer: The pullout method, except for one time the Palin females wrapped their legs too tight and wouldn't let go and there was no time to pull out.

  4. Anonymous9:21 AM

I would not have guessed that $75M was going for such a bogus concept. Sure, free speech lets one promote "abstinence only," but why did it ever need gov't funding. Just think if we could switch that funding over right this minute to helping Flint folks.

I keep wondering why some dot-com billionaire has not stepped up to say "I will fund daily water delivery to each home in Flint for the next year." I would. And some other gazillionaire could fund a free home visit of a medical team to each home to get data and prescribe. And a third gazillionaire could get free food of a therapeutic kind delivered to each home.

Me and my two billionaire pals would do this in a heartbeat. If only, . . . .

    1. Boscoe11:12 AM

...And considering the potential for endorsement deals from the companies whose products are getting delivered, you and your pals could probably even turn a profit if you wanted!

So, yeah. The wealthy are pretty much scum.

    2. Anonymous12:02 PM

We can not count on the wealthy or religious organizations to help protect vulnerable citizens, it isn't consistent enough and there may be a "litmus test" type of mentality which will exclude those in need because they don't meet the criteria.
That's why "we the people" can not allow the Republican/Libertarian agenda to overtake what a Democratic government is more than capable of doing. When government works "for the people" then we will have the proper oversight in place to protect the average citizen. Vote for Democrats!

    3. Anonymous5:26 PM

And this is exactly why expecting the poor to rely on private and/or religious charity is a joke.

You cannot guarantee that people will donate the necessary funds or material goods at just the right time to the places they are most needed. There needs to be some structured, dependable process in place to provide the basic necessities of life to the most vulnerable among us.

That's what being part of a civilized society means.

  5. Anonymous9:22 AM

Well this will be good for Barstool, maybe some of those churches will again her 25 grand for abstinence speeches, heck, they may even pay more since she'll have two ( acknowledged abstinence babies to haul around with her.

    1. Anonymous9:36 AM

2 acknoledged babies, and 2 secret babies by Bristol Palin.

Here is Bristol Palin on September 17, 2010 playing hide the belly while wearing a jacket in hot Los Angeles weather.

    2. Anonymous10:01 AM

I've never bought this "secret DWTS baby" crap. The girl gained weight all over, not just in her belly. Look at her face, neck, arms, legs, ass. I cracked up when she announced that she'd "gained 5 pounds" from "stress eating" during DWTS -- she clearly gained 30-40. But to extrapolate a secret, hidden baby from that is just birther-level conspiracy stuff. This woman has so much objectively demonstrable assholery to be criticized for -- no need to make up bizarro theories.

    3. Anonymous10:23 AM

@10:01 AM So Bristol wore a winter scarf in tropical Haiti heat just for fashion? She was pregnant, and your deflections won't work. Please come back with your tail between your legs when Bristol's DWTS baby is proven to be Tristan. It is so fashionable to wear a winter scarf in Haiti. Maybe you haven't seen pregnant Bristol on the view in November, 2010.

    4. Anonymous10:25 AM

    5. Anonymous11:03 AM

10:01, Why don't you tell us why a previously thin healthy 20 year old would gain so much weight while dancing everyday? Can you extrapolate that? Yeah, I didn't think so.

    6. Anonymous11:13 AM

Try reading for comprehension: the girl was f-a-t. People throw on all sorts of things to try to cover up weight gain they're embarrassed about. It's inarguably a more reasonable explanation than wild theories about some hidden grade-schooler secreted away somewhere. I look forward to receiving this "proof" of a "DWTS" baby named "Tristan." Meanwhile, Ima just keep laughing at Bristol for being a lazy, whiny, drunken abstinence spox with two kids from two different men (the second of whom may or may not be her former fiancé, but about whose status as father she herself clearly was in doubt),

    7. Anonymous11:16 AM

@10:01, It's great to see someone post here who is not a Democratic version of the crazy Obama birthers.

Also, too, Gryphen angrily asserted that he "doesn't play games" and he "despises people who post info on blogs under fake names". This was on the "Bristol hawking weight loss" thread. So is Gryphen your real name? I understand your real name to be Jesse R. Griffin. As for the claim that you don't play games, Trig said it best...bullshit!

    8. Anonymous11:21 AM

Stuffing your face to a pathological degree every night will pack on the pounds in a hurry. Why don't you tell me why she gained many tens of pounds all over her body yet you're focused only on her belly?

    9. Anonymous11:21 AM

10:01: when a woman gets FAT, her belly button does NOT become an 'outie' if it has always been an 'innie'. Bri$$le's belly button popped up during her eigth or ninth month - just like the turkey thermometer when the turkey is fully cooked.
Also, too: there was a TV interview either during or right after that time. She was in her LA apartment, wearing some long sleeved, white top, and they were very careful to only show her from her chest up. Except, in two frames, her belly shows to be HUGE.
Someone here, I am sure, has the screen captures still.
Another thing: Tripp was filmed saying he had a 'new baby sister', and either Bri$$le or Willblow tried to shush him and said he meant ' he has a new baby sitter'. Also, she was shacking up with the two black brothers, and one of them said something about him/them learning how to change bay diapers. Tripp was too old for diapers at that time.

    10. Anonymous11:31 AM

You haven't uncovered some big secret, 11:16. Most of us know it's Jesse Griffin. He's never tried to hide it.

    11. Anonymous11:33 AM

      @ anon 11:16am
      Good Morning Alicia,
As for quoting a young child swearing, well.....that is more than strange but you are on the same intelligence level and maturity level as he is.
Now run along now, your Mom wants you to clean your room.

    12. Anonymous11:34 AM

Bristol was fat because she was PREGNANT on DWTS.

    13. Anonymous11:34 AM

Don't get too excited, 11:16. I yield to no one in my contempt for this disgusting family. They celebrate ignorance as a virtue, brag about their own violence when they're not making excuses for it, neglect and endanger their children, use their religion as a shield and a cudgel, incite others to use deadly force as a problem-solving tool, bully minorities of all kinds, wallow in their own fictional victimhood...and they've done more than any other American family to lower political discourse to the level of barroom arguments. The fact that one of the babies obsessively theorized to be Bristol's doesn't exist...well, that doesn't gain this tribe any points in the decency or morality departments.

    14. Anonymous11:35 AM

No matter how many bastards have dropped out of her crotch it really doesn't matter. Bristol is a Ho.

    15. Anonymous11:36 AM

May we see a link to a photo of this "outie belly button" in Bristol's "eighth or ninth month"? Thanks.

    16. Anonymous11:40 AM

On her first DWTS stint, she was obviously pregnant. You don't gain that much weight when practicing and dancing to the degree they do in order to perform on that show!

Show us one other female that gained weight while on DWTS - in all the years it's been a hit!!

Only Bristol! They bound her stomach too - all so obvious. I wish someone from that particular show would talk! specially her dancing partner.

She couldn't dance either and has zero personality!

    17. Anonymous11:48 AM

Possibly she couldn't dance well because she didn't practice all that much? She's not renowned for her work ethic.

    18. Anonymous11:54 AM

11:13/11:16 Bristol was pregnant and she wore spanx to camouflage it. The focus was on her belly, because that is where the fetus shows most, dummy. Why wear a winter scarf in hot tropical weather with a t-shirt? WHERE IS THAT BABY?

    19. Otto Katz11:59 AM

      Image 3

      Happy, anon 10.01, 11.36?

    20. Anonymous12:13 PM

Anonymous 11:16 is not Alicia, but is my college roommate. But we both get a big kick out of posts from people slinging the name around, as if there is only one possible person reading here who doesn't believe all of "Gryphen's" tall tales. Wonkette is a much better blog than this one. Plus, the comments are always more intelligent and funny, that is, if they allowed comments.

    21. Anonymous12:22 PM

      Nobody cares, 12:13.

    22. Anonymous12:29 PM

Hear that everyone? We have actual college roommates here! College roommates who are fooling all of us with their cleverness.

Also, did you know that "Gryphen" isn't Gryphen's real name? I guess you need to be college roommates to figure that out.

Also, the college roommates are not allowed to comment on Wonkette for some reason.

Hahahahaha, those college roommates are so clever.

    23. Anonymous1:16 PM

Try to grasp the concept of sarcasm.

As for clever college roommates, both of us are attending Rice University on academic scholarships, so somebody thinks we're clever. And intelligent. And hardworking. So there is that.

    24. Anonymous1:48 PM

WHERE IS THAT BABY, indeed? Proving a negative, like distinguishing between totally different voices, is harrrrrrrrrd.

We can't even seem to get a link to the touted photo of Bristol in her "eighth or ninth month" sporting an outie. I have little confidence that the people who can't produce it are going to be able to locate a hidden, what, five-year-old?

    25. Anonymous2:25 PM

12:13 Maybe you and your silly college roommate should lay off the sauce and stop playing games.

    26. Anonymous2:32 PM

Thanks, Otto! Yes, those pictures are the ones I meant when I was talking about the TV show that only tried to show Bri$$le from the chest on up.

    27. Anonymous4:01 PM

      Exactly which part was sarcasm?

    28. Anonymous4:09 PM

Rice University on academic scholarships? WOW!

You must know everything. I'm glad you are gracing us with your presence instead of out hobnobbing with the academic elite and attending symposia (or perhaps even speaking at them!).

You have to know you're wasting your brilliant trolling on us brainless nobodies here at IM.

Alas, college and graduate school was so very long ago. There is no way we could ever be as quick-witted as you.

      (that was sarcasm)

  6. Anonymous9:22 AM

I wouldn't exactly refer to Brissy as "young people" unless you mean maturity levels.

    Forever stuck in junior high.

  7. Anonymous9:27 AM

Anonymous7:36 AM on another IM post:

Check out barstools latest IG post, a shout out to God.....and she comments for protecting her from what she thought she wanted and giving her what she never knew she she confirming MALOE's comment Dakota is not baby daddy??

    1. Anonymous9:44 AM

Not that I spent any time checking, but the MOH's FB has some quote about saying nice things about people.

It really too bad that these two triteness-quoting, attention hounds couldn't make it work.

    2. Anonymous9:44 AM

It literally says, "Shoutout to God."

    3. "[Bristol's] ... shout out to God"
I understand she has done that a number of times, at least twice that she has acknowledged.

    4. Otto Katz9:59 AM

And the first comment "bsmp2, for keeping me protected from what I thought I wanted, and giving me what I never knew I needed", sure looks like confirmation of MALOE to me!!!! What an ignorant young woman.

    5. Anonymous10:47 AM

How come the court case is still open?

    6. Anonymous10:52 AM

Didn't see maloe's latest comment. Can anyone reproduce it here now?

    7. Anonymous11:07 AM

"SHOUT OUT TO GOD" must be her birth control method. How's that workin' out for ya, Bristol??

      That woman is an idiot.

    8. Anonymous1:57 PM

Don't think I can add anything new here.
Bristles " shout out to god" really?
You know it's a song? You already knew that? Of course you did. It really doesn't matter.
God is probably shouting at you as well.
Keep your legs closed!! Dammit!!!You abstinence spokesperson you.

  8. Anonymous9:28 AM

If the rumors are correct about Dakota not being the "daddy" ... you have to laugh when you think of the "baggage" Sarah is bringing to the Trump campaign in SC this week! Is there no shame?

    1. Anonymous9:47 AM

      Not with that bunch!

    2. Anonymous10:02 AM

      @Anonymous 9:28 AM
'If the rumors are correct about Dakota not being the "daddy" ... you have to laugh when you think of the "baggage" Sarah is bringing to the Trump campaign in SC this week! Is there no shame?'

Trump is just as bad. He got his mistress Marla Maples pregnant while married to Ivanna.

    3. Anonymous10:16 AM

On top of the fiasco with Track during her last appearance I'm not sure Trump is going to be all hugs when he sees Sarah after this latest bombshell drops!

  9. Anonymous9:32 AM

Abstinence worked so well for Bristles, didn't it. How many bastards has she birthed via abstinence? Was it 4 or 5?

Actually it didn't work for ANY of the palin KKKlan.

Time to trash the superstitious crapola and defer to SCIENCE

  10. Anonymous9:46 AM

I soooooo hope the latest news that the DNA results are back and DM is NOT the father - but will wait until I see it posted here before I celebrate.
This will not Sarah once and for all, but along with her endorsement of Trump it definitely will make a huge dent in followers which means less money, and hopefully less public appearances and eventually just fading into the distance and becoming a bad memory

  11. I remember the television interview when she said that birth control doesn't work... she took a pill before sex every time! And the interviewer said, "But that's not how they work!" and her jaw dropped.

She's too dumb to read the directions.

    1. She takes the pill before sex?

It's aspirin and also too they don't work like that!

I told her many times those go between her knees. I kept getting that feeling like there was something wrong what with all the babies and whiteouts and whatnot. Like when Putin used to rear up into my airspace and keep me awake at night...

  12. Anonymous9:59 AM

Not only is it good that this money was taken out of the budget, the arguing over it (if that even happens) by the right wing would be good for people to hear. How nonsensical it is.

  13. Anonymous10:21 AM

I just want to know when Trig started attending a school. Sarah's got a pic up and talks about visiting Trig's school.

    1. Anonymous10:58 AM

At the very least, you would think $arah would try to educate the public about how to live and work with DS children

    2. Anonymous11:09 AM

What's amazing is that she couldn't bring herself to be a spokesperson for kids with DS and their families. Right after the election, the big organizations would probably have loved to have her.

It wouldn't have taken too much time, a public service announcement here and there, a couple speaking engagements. Such small effort to do so much...for her image.

I don't believe Trig is Sarah's bio child or that she has any particular interest in him or the issue of Down Syndrome, but you would think she would understand she could use it to her advantage.

I really wonder why she never did it.

    3. Anonymous11:10 AM

She doesn't know how to live and work with kids with DS.

    4. Boscoe11:22 AM

@10:58: But that would require a soul, actually giving a shit about the plight of other DS parents and, you know, having actual experience living and working with them, rather than just picking them up for photo ops and then dropping them off with handlers and nannies.

  14. Anonymous10:47 AM

Bristles & Sarah are going to be so pissed! I mean look at how well abstinence only worked out as Bristles method of birth control.

  15. Taking that money out of the budget gives Obama something to surrender to get a budget passed, because that's probably what's going to happen. Conservative states can just see their birth rate soar.

  16. Anonymous11:05 AM

Let's assume that MALOE has real info and/or the DNA test shows Dakota is not the father...

Could it be they are negotiating over how much to pay him to keep quiet until she can secure a magazine article or cover?

Imagine the sad story of Brisol Palin, fucking up again, on the cover of People magazine.

    "I got ahead of myself..."

    "I was desperate..."

    "I still chose life..."

Bristol doesn't care why she gets paid, as long as she gets paid.

    1. Anonymous11:44 AM

I think she does care, though. Her fury when people call her out or make fun of her (i.e., "I do not want any lectures," "giddy assholes") is enormous. She has a very thin skin, just like her mother. It never occurs to Bristol that the answer is living a private life.

  17. Anonymous11:31 AM

It often feels like both Barstool and Dakoduh post other people's quotes as a code communication. He's got a recent one that uses the words "my children" in a quote about being ready to fight. First it names the brother next to the soldier, then the children, then the country. It's kind of odd how he chose this and it's in a format that sets off the "my children" line so much by itself.

  18. Anonymous11:43 AM

Bristol! Anon-11:05 is right. This is your moment. SP is in the news, people haven't yet forgotten about you and Dakota (but they will), you can see diminishing PR prospects ahead. GO FOR IT! Liberate yourself from your Alaska Mafia family, which is going downhill fast but will be no less vindictive (to you!) on that ride.

Get a giant advance for a tell-all book. I am positive you could get a big enough advance to get you moved away to another part of the country, where you could start over as a single Mom with no baggage.

If you told the whole truth, your book WOULD SELL! Make you another big stash of cash. If you got a publisher-recommended ghostwriter, the larger political context could be woven in -- this could become a classic book that has a long life. Like the first McGinnis book. Unlike Sarah's books. Of all the books about Palins and the election, yours could be the only truthful one: the whole truth. Tell the whole truth, get a good ghostwriter to help you, and you can have a brand new chance at a real life.

    1. Anonymous12:06 PM

      Bristol will never leave Mommie.

    2. Anonymous12:15 PM

      I'm afraid you are right.

    3. Anonymous12:26 PM

Here it is made easy: phone up Geoffrey Dunn, who already knows the ropes (publishing process, content/context, experienced, able to write really well), tell him you want to speak in strict confidence (I firmly believe he will honor it).

Ask if he wants to partner with you: you tell, he writes. He can do the footwork in finding a buyer. The two of you (plus your children) could camp out in some remote spot as soon as you get the advance. Three months, and the book could be done. With Dunn writing it, it is bound to be really well written. With you telling the story, it can be truthful (if you are willing).

This is your ticket to a normal life. Grab it!

P.s., I am not Dunn, just an avid reader.

    4. Anonymous1:13 PM

MALOE and her Mom need to write the book instead, now THAT one would be a best seller

    5. Anonymous8:23 PM

@11:43 It would just be another book of lies. They are incapable of telling the truth.

  19. Anonymous12:15 PM

That's great and let's take away the funding for these despicable "Pregnancy Crisis Centers," vouchers for religious school and a number of "christian" welfare programs that abuse MY tax dollars!! If the righties can scream about it why don't we lefties scream louder!!

  20. He should have done this six years ago.

  21. I’m convinced the only thing that will help Bristol is a prescription for Ritalin, a private tutor to help her to get into college, a psychologist for counseling, and a psychiatrist to medicate her. If the stories are true about her having a below average IQ, the tutor could at least can help her get into at least a junior college to help her find some semi profession career she may be able to find some success in.

    1. Anonymous8:22 PM

I don't understand why everyone keep thinking Bristol should go to college.
First of all college isn't for everyone, second she couldn't even finish high school so what makes you think she would do anything in college.

She is like many young women that want something for nothing. Take selfies and make easy money from photos of her baby. They all think they are Kim K or Beyonce without doing the work.

Too bad none of them have a back up plan.

  22. Anonymous2:50 PM

Oral contraceptives weren't FDA approved until 1960 but condoms were available, as well as coat hangers. It appears that a certain 15 year old AK teen didn't know that though. Bummer.

  23. Randall2:56 PM

What do they call girls that use abstinence-only birth control?

  24. Anonymous4:16 PM

There is no point in judging abstinence-only programs by Bristol. She's someone who has been having sex since age 14 and has never even aspired to being abstinent. Of course abstinence will never work to prevent pregnancy when a girl secretly wants a baby. And if there's one thing we know it's that Bristol has wanted babies since she's 16. 4 pregnancies between ages 16-24? And we don't know if there were other pregnancies that ended in abortions.

  25. Anita Winecooler5:06 PM

Thank You, Mr President, Sir. You're a true American hero always on the right side of science and history. Ouch, that's gotta leave a mark on Miss pro life, pro abstinence, "Pause before you Play", Bible Thumpin' "This bed is too soft, This bed's too hard", "This bed's just right" skin professional Candies Girl and mother of two with who knows how many baby daddies dipshit? She was crying in that screen grab begging, pleading with Willer to not leave, she doesn't know what it's like having a baby without being married" Hey Bristol, why the cute chin?
Oh, please let Duh's dna not match!!!!!

Well played, Mr President. Education and science are key, girls need to learn they don't need a man to be whole, and the worse way to catch a man worth marrying is not giving free samples over and over and over.....

Don't feed the trolls!
It just goes directly to their thighs.
