The party that screams about voter fraud while getting busted for voter fraud is at it again. This time, it’s a loophole Republicans have found in Nevada that will allow them to caucus in the Democratic caucus and then again in the Republican caucus days later.
Republicans are urging their fellow Republicans to take advantage of the loophole reported yesterday by Ralston Reports.
Here is an e-mail sent by Nick Vander Poel, a Republican activist:
Please forward to family and friends and fellow GOP caucus goers.
I was able to confirm through a former Secretary of State elections official as well as a former County Clerk. Both said and confirmed that Republicans can show up on Saturday, February 20th and register as a Democrat if you have a burning desire. Then still be eligible to participate to caucus on Tuesday for GOP candidate of choice.
What was also confirmed. The caucuses are NOT a state sanctioned election, the caucus is conducted by both parties. So this is NOT illegal and you will be arrested or fined. So put that rumor to rest.
Some call this idea silly but the reality is, with low turnout the Democrat caucus is going to close and every little bit is going to help.
Again, here are the details/loophole of how this is possible:
Apparently this is the loophole:
A Republican registered by Feb. 13 could show up at a Democratic caucus site on Saturday, switch to the Democratic Party, vote and then still participate on Tuesday because the party switch would not show up on the GOP caucus rolls.
Cute right? and unfortunately also perfectly legal.
Oh for those who are a little slow on the uptake, the person these fake Democrats are being encouraged to caucus for is Bernie Sanders.
No Republican fears Bernie Sanders, but they are flat terrified of Hillary Clinton.
And I would urge you to take all of those polls saying Sanders can win the general election, and Clinton cannot, with a huge grain of salt. Because I think that there is a VERY concerted and carefully organized effort to sell that mythology.
Update: It looks like an actual Sanders supporter even tried to place an obituary for Hillary in a local paper:
The Las Vegas Review-Journal on Friday reported a possible threat related to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton after a man tried to place an obituary notice for the former secretary of state.
The man, who identified himself as Don Schubert, was asked to leave the newspaper building's lobby after he filled out a standard obituary form identifying the deceased as Hillary Rodham Clinton, and listing her date of death as Feb. 20, 2016, the date of Saturday's Democratic Party presidential caucuses. Previously he had called the newsroom to complain about the coin flips that determined the outcome of some Iowa caucuses last month.
The man was seen leaving the RJ parking lot in a maroon Toyota Prius bearing several Bernie Sanders campaign stickers. A security guard said he was also wearing a Sanders sticker on his shirt. The official Sanders campaign website lists "Don Schubert's House" in Long Beach, Calif., as the site of a volunteer phone bank.
Newspaper security officials reported Schubert to the Secret Service.
By the way apparently the Secret Service DID indeed visit this idiot.
Getting a little difficult to tell the actual Bernie supporters, from the Republicans impersonating them.
Update 2: You can get live updates on the Nevada caucus here.
Update 3: Okay well it appears that Clinton has won the Nevada caucus, so I guess the nasty tricks ultimately proved ineffective.
Yeah, well, if they pray for softballs they better duck (old Chinese proverb)

ReplyDeleteGet over it dude stick to Palin bashing
ReplyDeleteGo away, Dude!!!!
DeleteThe Repugs are wasting their time. No way will the DNC permit Bernie Sanders to get the Democratic presidential nomination. No matter what it has to do. It will make sure Hillary Clinton gets it. And since she has such great unpopularity with so many voters, it will cost Democrats the election. So, knock yourselves out, Repugs, when you could just let the DNC take care of it for you.
ReplyDeleteSo, basically, you are saying that if Clinton wins, she cheated. There's no way she could win fair because more people voted for her than for Sanders?
DeleteYeah right. The one person in this nation with the experience, intelligence, knowledge, persistence, and maturity to run this nation won't be elected? Please proceed, GOP. Whichever ass you choose is going to be filleted like a salmon at the first debate by Hillary.
DeleteIf Clinton would definitely lose the general election, why are Republicans like this scheming to make sure she doesn't get the nomination?
DeleteHillary is going to beat ANY GOP guy. Watch. They have only clowns.
DeleteIf Bernie is such a leader and so feared by the Republicans, why aren't the republicans going after him? Or are they saving it for the general?
DeleteHillary Clinton has my vote and many friends of mine feel the same way.
DeleteBernie is a nice guy - but, Hillary Clinton has much more hands on experience as to doing the job as POTUS!
At this point in time polls show that either Clinton or Sanders beat any of the remaining clown car. They should quake in fear of both.
DeleteSheesh
Bernie has held public office since 1981, starting as Mayor where he was re-elected 3 times. He then was elected as a Representative, and served as 16 years as congressman. In 2006 he started in the Senate, where he is currently in his second term.
DeleteHillary did how many years as a Senator and how many as Secretary?
Sounds to me like you are more terrified of Bernie Sanders than the republicans are of Hillary.
ReplyDeleteReally? Is that how it sounds?
DeleteNot the sharpest tool are you Spanky?
Gryphen has never posted anything that suggests he is frightened of Bernie Sanders and why would he be?
DeleteThe anti-Clinton talking points that come out of some of these Sanders supporters rival those of the Republicans. Anyone who doesn't obviously support Sanders is "scared" of him.
DeleteYou keep telling yourself that.
DeleteIt also sounds like you are prepping the excuses for Hillary should she lose or tie in Nevada.
Delete11:47 I'm not a supporter of Sanders. I'm independent, but lean much more right or republican. If it came down to it though, I would vote for Sanders over the any of the Repubs. Hillary however will not get that luxury from me, nor lots of other indies and republicans I know (or a lot of democrats I know).
Yes Gryph, I'm a dumb asshole, and you are of course the smartest guy on your whole blog. How many more years of your life are you going to spend tailing a long since has been nobody Governor and her family?
That's great, 12:02. Now exactly what in Gryphen's post makes you think he is scared of Sanders?
DeleteHow many more years of your life are you going to be reading and commenting on such a useless blog?
DeleteYour vote is not a luxury. You can obviously vote for whomever you wish.
DeleteYou know "lots of" people who wouldn't vote for Clinton? Well, I also know "lots of" people who wouldn't vote for Clinton. I also know "lots of" people who WOULD vote for Clinton. These anecdotes mean nothing.
So 12:02 is a pro-Bernie Sarah Palin defender?
DeleteI wish I could say I was surprised by that. But actually that explains quite a lot.
One anecdote of course means nothing. Multiply that anectdote by 30 million and maybe it starts to mean something.
DeleteSarah Palin defender? Maybe you need to sharpen your toolshed Gryph. You are the one infatuated with her. Hell you are practically a Palin dependent. Without her, your one trick pony blog would probably dry up. Do you send her a monthly stipend?
DeleteThe plural of anecdote is not data and "lots of" means nothing.
DeleteWhy are you here, 12:25?
DeleteSo, you're a right/republican-leaning independent who doesn't want to read any more about Sarah and the Palins? Why exactly do you visit IM?
Delete@12:25 - Whoever you are (cough "troll" cough), you spend a lot of time here driving up Gryph's hit count. So thanks! We want his blog to be globally popular and you're helping!
DeleteOnce again, Gryph, you must have hit a nerve.
DeleteLike clockwork here they come.
Hillary is leading Bernie in Nevada! This is exciting!! The media has been so damned wrong in trying to tear her down for months! All for ratings! She WILL be the next POTUS!!
DeleteThe Brogressives are going to have a big sad. Boo-hoo!
DeleteWhy would a pasty old man like Bernie who's biggest accomplishment in his life was living off his parents for decades terrify anyone?
DeleteHe has done nothing in congress and as far as I am concerned should have run as the indy he says he is. Nothing but a coattail rider to run as a democrat.
Hillary's victory speech was fantastic.
DeleteMaybe that Giselson dude is trolling here tonight
DeleteExcerpts from above e-mail sent by Recurlycan activist Nick Vander Poel:
ReplyDelete"...Republicans can show up on Saturday, February 20th and register as a Democrat if you have a burning desire."
Maybe he should have spelled it "berning desire" to make it a bit more obvious.
"So this is NOT illegal and you will be arrested or fined."
Well, I sure hope he's right about that last point.
Morans!
I would think there is a 'simple' answer to this matter!
ReplyDeleteIf they have proof that a voter actually voted twice (obviously computerized as to names/voters!), they should negate BOTH votes that they cast! Obvious fraud!
As a casual observer it occurs to me (a 60+ year old retired professor) that some of the seemingly underhanded Bernie supporter "jokes" may be attributable to the age of many of his supporters. In and out of the classroom I saw a lot of "joking" and "prank" behavior that showed a lack of what polite company would say is decorum. I mean, setting your roommate on fire (yeah, it happened at UConn) is a real yuk, but grown ups don't do that sort of thing.
ReplyDeleteIn other words, they need to grow up because they're giving their candidate a bad name.
As a 60+ retired teacher I agree with your assessment. It is sad though because they appear to becoming as rabid as tRump supporters!
DeleteIf Sanders were running a serious campaign for president instead of trying to start a de facto revolution, he would have taken his rabble in hand and hired professionals to control them. Sanders has some questionable characters on his payroll and that's very dangerous for him while he's attempting to portray himself as Mr Honesty.
Deletehow much more evidence does one need to see that a good number of Bernie supporters are actually republicans wishing to do harm to the democratic party. Bernie seems to be going along with that.
DeleteLet me get this right...HRC is subject of 6 month long criminal investigation, her daughter's father-in-law has served jail time, a former campaign official was charged with an election crime...
Delete12:37AM, do you have a point?
DeleteDave Wasserman on Twitter "Unless Bernie holds Hillary's margin under 10% in South Carolina, the Dem race could be effectively over in less than two weeks." @redistrict
ReplyDeleteOur local newspaper (northwest lower Michigan) printed a letter in which the writer urged primary voters to ask for the Democratic Party's ballot (in MI you don't have to vote the ballot of your party of registration) to vote against Hillary Clinton. I was very annoyed that the paper printed the letter urging what I consider to be voter fraud. I would never interfere with the selection process of another political party.
ReplyDeleteBeaglemom
It won't hurt you to write the paper expressing your disgust. They'll ignore you but they'll read your email first- and there will be others.
DeleteI did and they printed my letter. We are limited to having a letter published once every six months but I thought the issue important enough to have my say. I told the editor that I considered voting to be a patriotic and sacred (in the secular sense) duty.
DeleteBeaglemom
I live in Michigan and Bernie must be worried, I received a telephone "survey" where they read a bunch of Bernie's promises-the same old ones free college, single payer insurance, war on wall street and doesn't take money for speeches. After reading them they wanted to know whether I was more incline to vote for Bernie.
ReplyDeleteSorry Bernie, your proposals sound wonderful, too bad you didn't fight Wall St where you could in the senate and I don't believe you when you say the rich are going to pay for all of this. It will be the middle class if you somehow get it thru Congress. By the way Denmark, that you love so much has 56% personal income tax.

My daughter was talking to one of her Facebook friends in Nevada. They said that Sanders supporters were harassing Hillary supporters and even threatening the older Hillary voters. This was at a High school where people were voting.Where are people monitering voting ???This shit should not be allowed to happen!
ReplyDeleteNot surprised at all.
DeleteA group of nurses (whose union superPAC is spending millions on Bernie Sanders) harassed some Clinton campaign workers at their campaign office last night in Nevada, screaming at them about health care.
DeleteThat is symptomatic of Sanders's shoddy campaign management and typical of his out-of-control supporters.
I am so over Bernie Sanders.

DeleteBernie Bros. shout down famed Latina activist when she translates speech. They tell: "English Only."
I posted this once before but this bears repeating...The day after the caucus a woman on a Facebook site said: Women of Iowa you voted with your cunts and now you have one. Before the caucus when my daughter visited Bernie sites and wouldn't promise to caucus for Bernie she was called a whore and a cunt. This is disgusting behavior.
DeleteSo if Jebya da bodine comes in 4th, that's a win for him, right??
ReplyDeleteIt counts as second to the GOP since they never consider the non whites, so the "rill" second and third don't count. Do you now understand republican math?
DeleteBernie's LV concession speech was pathetic. He claimed HE had the momentum, the election was rigged (bought), and he was on to Super Tuesday. What about South Carolina Sanders? The man is delusional.
ReplyDeleteI seriously think he is suffering from dementia.
DeleteI think Hillary's speech hit the right tone, and I have to give credit to both their supporters, there was no booing nor vicious signs maligning the opponent.
Delete@ Anita
DeleteNo, Bernies supporters were just tired from harassing the Hillary supporters yesterday.
No booing or rude signs? You don't get credit for behaving like a normal human being.
DeleteSucks for them, Hillary won, and someone else didn't. Things like this give politics a bad name, but it happens on both sides, every election.
ReplyDeleteLet's not talk about Republicans and their skeevy voting practices when people who wanted to caucus in Nevada were turned away because the gym was full. That is bullshit. Let's see-you get your supporters at the head of the line, and there ya go! How easy was that?! I repeat-Bullshit. I'm disgusted with damn near everybody right now-especially those of you who demand that I vote for somebody I hate so somebody you hate won't be elected prez. The DNC and all the Clinton's pals will make sure she wins. She's as honest as Ted Cruz, and a lot of the problems we have now were put in motion by their first administration. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
DeleteSo...when its a caucus, Hillary BARELY wins. When its a primary with individual votes, Bernie wins by a landslide. Too soon to call this a pattern?
9:28 Not condemning or agreeing.
DeletePart of the right to vote is the right to NOT vote if you dont want to.
Some people dont like that part. They get mad at you over your personal voting habits. I guess I say, watch that old South Park episode about Vote Or Die for a Douch or a Turd.

DeleteNobody is telling you who to vote for. This is not about you fool.
