So Donald Trump is now in a war of words with the most popular Pope in a generation. Is THIS finally a step too far for "the Donald?"

So apparently the Pope had some things to say about Donald Trump during his visit to Mexico.

Courtesy of the New York Times:

Inserting himself into the Republican presidential race, Pope Francis on Wednesday suggested that Donald J. Trump “is not Christian” because of the harshness of his campaign promises to deport more immigrants and force Mexico to pay for a wall along the border.

“A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian,” Francis said when a reporter asked him about Mr. Trump on the papal airliner as he returned to Rome after his six-day visit to Mexico.

Ouch!

Well Trump is a reasonable fellow so I am sure he will be....what's that, he attacked the Pope on Facebook?

Courtesy of Trump-book:

In response to the Pope:

If and when the Vatican is attacked by ISIS, which as everyone knows is ISIS’s ultimate trophy, I can promise you that the Pope would have only wished and prayed that Donald Trump would have been President because this would not have happened. ISIS would have been eradicated unlike what is happening now with our all talk, no action politicians.

The Mexican government and its leadership has made many disparaging remarks about me to the Pope, because they want to continue to rip off the United States, both on trade and at the border, and they understand I am totally wise to them. The Pope only heard one side of the story - he didn’t see the crime, the drug trafficking and the negative economic impact the current policies have on the United States. He doesn’t see how Mexican leadership is outsmarting President Obama and our leadership in every aspect of negotiation.

For a religious leader to question a person’s faith is disgraceful. I am proud to be a Christian and as President I will not allow Christianity to be consistently attacked and weakened, unlike what is happening now, with our current President. No leader, especially a religious leader, should have the right to question another man’s religion or faith. They are using the Pope as a pawn and they should be ashamed of themselves for doing so, especially when so many lives are involved and when illegal immigration is so rampant.

Donald J. Trump

Is Trump encouraging an ISIS attack on the Vatican here?

Because THAT is kind of how this sounds.

Okay now come on, Trump cannot really take on Pope Francis like this and not lose at least SOME of his support, right?

A recent poll, with the smallest GOP field to-date, gives Cruz a slight edge over Trump. As someone on the news put it, there is a "high floor but a low ceiling" to Trump's poll numbers. He might have 30-35% in the bag, but the remaining 65-70% is pretty much ABT. As the field thins, it will coalesce. Hopefully not in support of Cruz -- who, as Jimmy Carter pointed out, is scarier in many ways than Trump because he actually believes the sh*t he says.

Everyone knows this pope is illegitimate because he doesn't subscribe to the gospel of the Republican Jesus. So this will do Trump no harm. In fact it may draw some fundamentalists away from Cruz since they tend to hate catholics.

Americans tend to see our political process only through the lens of what it means to us. The rest of the world looks at our process and says---what will it mean to the planet.

Oh yeah! And I don't think Pope Francis meant "Christian" like these fakers here he meant it like a way of life (donnie would never know what it is to be Christian PERSON has nothing to do with Religion)

It has nothing to do with church and all to do with your heart. I think that is what Pope Francis meant, calling out tRump for being a heartless, gutless, SOB, faker, liar, and not a nice, or even good person.

Okay, I'm an atheist, but I have a few thoughts on what the Pope said. First of all, he referred to building walls instead of bridges, so he was speaking rhetorically. Secondly, who else is in a better position to question another person's faith than a religious leader?? Oh, Donald Trump himself, who has questioned Cruz's (frankly nutty) Christianity more than once. And will it hurt him? Probably only with Hispanics and Catholics in general, since the southern evangelicals won't give a shit, but that is no small thing. The Pope was standing up for disadvantaged Mexicans while in Mexico. Keep on insulting those of Mexican descent there, Donald! Let's see how that works out for you in the end!

She [his grandmother] added: 'He will be a father to his child and he'll be a good one he's just got to get this girl and the law to agree.'

Second, I'm sure she one of the reasons Dakota will be denied any sort of custody is so that he will be required to pay even MORE child support. Bristol needs it because she can't milk Levi any more.

Third, Dakota can't have any sort of custody or even visitation without supervision because if he has Sailor for even a few hours he'll have his own DNA tests done by an independent lab outside the control of the Palins.

Lastly, I doubt Dakota will agree to any of that final say shit.

In her, people find the motivations to massacre each other or to die in absolute poverty, to pursue a presumed internal quality. It cannot be continued so. The Christian monotheism, born when in Europe and in Africa few million of people lived, it reveals inadequate in demography of billion of individuals. The critical dilemma are that unchangeable cults, considered as wines that more grow old more become good, that arrogate to depositaries of any philanthropic ethical, depriving the secular society to being legitimated in important moral merits. The Catholic church is the model of it. We are concrete: different from the Protestants that of “shepherds” don’t have, that Catholic one is a desperate flock! Let us talk on the happenings of our times, where the cults determine the behaviours of the people as never happened before and the urgency to adjourn the role of the mysticism, pursues us from near.
