The Divine Miss M certainly has Donald Trump's number.

When I turned 21, while going to school in Hawaii, my girlfriend sang "The Rose" to me for my birthday.

She had an exquisite voice and I was forever trying to get her to sing for me, but she usually refused.

On this day she sang the entire song A capella, and it remains the most beautiful thing that I have ever heard in my entire life.

So there is a very special place in my heart for Better Midler, and I am pleased to see that she is still a force to be reckoned with.

P.S. By the way the first time I became really smitten with my girlfriend is while she was acting in a high school version of Catch-22.

Isn't life funny?

  1. She's got his number; no question about it.

Not that he's alone at it. He's just got the biggest spotlight for the moment.

I loved the movie and the song!"The Rose" Divine Miss M is awesome! It
his so crazy tRump is leading?! WTF is wrong with 'merica?!
Well Palin. She reminds me of that evil thing in the celler of "the charmed ones" that they have to vanquish every so often. Its time to vanquish her and her low life family.
Let the christo-fasicists stay in the stupid little churches. We know SHE doesn't go to church.
I think alot of people just go to trump rallies,it is for free stuff and almost like a rave. But oh so not presidential.
Thinking about it, this is a manifestation of GW Home sKoolin'! Kids need to go to a proper school and be socialized, and learn about other cultures and places in the world & History, Civics.
Home skool should not be allowed unless there are extreme circumstances & if a kid has to HS the curriculum should be from a public school and done via computer until they can attend. How is a kid supposed to recognize a "Bully" when he see's one unless he has went to school and witnessed one.
I know everyone here can remember a "Bully" from Jr. High and we are seeing another run for potus? OMG! tRump!

Bette Midler has always been the most talented person in the room. She was Johnny Carson's last guest on his last show. She's phenomenal. I watched her perform a song on a television show once and I can't even remember the song; however, I do remember how moved I was by her performance. It brought chills to my arms! She was just so incredible.

The patriarch of the criminal, deadbeat Bundy crime family is in federal custody!!!!

Cliven Bundy was arrested at an Oregon airport last night/early this morning.

He was on his way to address the dimwits still occupying the wildlife refuge when he stepped off the plane into the waiting arms of a dozen or so federal officers!!!

One more Bundy fundy in the clink. Hope the feds can be creative about keeping them in close quarters for awhile.

  4. Is Middler supporting Hill or Bern?

I saw The Divine Miss M in concert in '04. She was simply delicious and worth every penny. No holds barred commentary on then prez Dubya and the Iraq War, and the voice of an angel.

I saw her twice, once on broadway, and once in Harlem while visiting The Clinton's Foundation. She was dressed like a vagabond, hair tied up in a funky scarf, and she was grabbing people off the streets to clean up the messes in the park, Sophie, her daughter, had clam diggers on pulling shopping carts, old tires and litter from an abandoned fountain. She's one amazing actress, comedienne, and puts her money where her priorities are. She bought rakes, brooms, trash bags, leaf bags, paint, sandpaper etc. And treated them to lunch from food trucks. My sister thought they were on work release, lmao. I told her to look at the lady again, and she never forgot it (I wouldn't let her).

Just another datapoint that there's money to be made for the REAL and HONEST story of it all:

We use to sing "The Rose" a cappella (it wasn't good, tho) when we were teens. Love Bette. I find that quote true to Ted Cruz, also. He has no soul, personality, or humanity.

Catch-22 is one of my favorite books (and movies). And Bette Midler has always been divine.

I guess I haven't been paying attention to the donbald and his ilk. I saw the post-NH "speech" and I said, out loud, "what the hell is that?" There was some kind of plastic doll standing next to him. Was that the "new" wife? HOLY CRAP BATMAN! My next response was "jeeeeezus.. lay off the plastic surgery lady." She doesn't even look real. WTF? Did he buy her in a store somewhere or just remake her to look like a doll? I guess she had to compete with the person he really wants because as we all know:

Also, too, lots of people like the M but a better version of the Julie Gold song "From A Distance" was done by Nanci Griffth and the Blue Moon Orchestra. Nanci did it first and better, regardless of who won a grammy. There, I said it and I meant it.

Extra did an interview with the Donald and his wife in their gaudy, gold glided penthouse.

I had to laugh because Melonmia was all decked out in pretty conservative clothing,as though no one has seen her porn photos.

Did he look at that face? And the fact she bleeds from her eyes, mouth, everywhere? The Baroque gold plated gold apartment was decorated by Ivana, and nothing's changed since, except for his multiple wives, cheating, having a kid without benefit of marriage, and picking his wives from foreign Ashley Madison wannabe sites, like farmers shop for seeds and feed.

South Carolina Focus Group Visibly Cringes At Trump's Foul Language (VIDEO)

Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump had a group of South Carolina voters cringing at his foul language in a focus group segment that aired Thursday on MSNBC's "Morning Joe.

Bloomberg Politics' Mark Halperin showed the focus group participants videos of Trump cursing at rallies, including a clip of the real estate magnate saying, "We're going to knock the shit out of ISIS" as well as "You can tell them to go fuck themselves!"

Participants covered their faces and gasped at the language. One older man crossed his arms across his chest as the clip rolled.

"It's crass," one female participant said. "It's not how you want your President of the U.S. to present."

A younger male participant, identified as Jacob, was asked if this kind of conduct would hurt Trump in South Carolina. While nodding, Jacob said, "(In) the Bible Belt? This is the belt buckle right here."

A woman added, "We don't tolerate that here."

Within hours, Trump disputed the legitimacy of the clips shown to participants.

Wonderful quote and so applicable to Trump and ilk like Palin. Thanks, Bette Midler.

Bette's an amazing actress, singer, comedienne, and civil activist. She has these impromptu groups of volunteers who clean up streams, parks, graffiti, etc in Harlem. I know she was extremely fond of Bill, not sure where she stands now with Hillary.
What a beautiful gift from someone! Especially if they can sing well.
When we were younger, she was an absolutely wild woman. She could sing the standards, classics, and pop music, and made it look easy. She had a turbulent youth and fought depression and drugs and came through it all, started again from the bottom, and worked her way up again.
    Brilliant quote, thanks Bette!!!

Don't feed the trolls!
It just goes directly to their thighs.
