Donald Trump in his own words.

These videos keep popping up, and I swear that every time I watch one of them I just sit and shake my head in bewilderment at how anybody could think that there was anything genuine or admirable about his idiot.

After I watch them I always feel like I need one of those Silkwood showers to wash the toxins off.

I'm with you on that. I have never liked the guy. I have never watched his reality tv show. It just occurred to me, that our down and dirty reality tv is part of the problem that gave us Trump as a candidate. People are accepting this behavior as normal.

Understanding Trump's popularity is as easy as understanding how Duck Dynasty and Honey BooBoo stayed on the air for so long. They all appeal to the lowest common denominator and that bar has gotten increasingly lower over the past 10 years of reality TV. I still cannot understand how the Kardashians (or, as a friend calls them, the KarTRASHians) became who ubiquitous. Boggles the mind. But certainly helps explain Trumpism.

7:32 the "BAR" is the problem. All are a bunch of drunks. dRumpf drinks very little, (like his dick) that is how he controls them in many ways.

The people who see this depraved moron for the liar he is will never convince his adoring supporters that they are complicit in contributing to make the country they say they love the laughing stock of the world.

You almost have to feel sorry for Donald. He's an elite job creator who knows words -he has the best words- but he's perpetually audited by Big Gubmint merely because he's such a devout Christian. We really do need to make our country great again just like it used to be! USA USA.

It has nothing to do with Trump's hypocrisy, racism and bullying behavior. It has a lot do to with his demeanor and style of speaking and the fact that he is clueless about politics.

"What do you read?" is relevant when electing a POTUS.

He didn't create jobs. He broke small businesses. He scares me. He makes me second guess all that nonsense that we have been feeding ourselves about what a great country this is because our elected officials clamour to kiss his ass. His racism just makes racism normal. While he goes after the weak and vulnerable, any ethnicity should be very, very wary. Bad times.

Liar, hypocrite, thug in chief? No thanks. I think our country is such a mess, we could use a comedian in chief like Steve Martin. At least he is funny, intelligent and erudite. Trump is scraping the bottom of the barrel, sleazy, low life, vile scum. Who needs him? The people that follow him are morons! He is about as Christian as a snake. Time to start slamming the creep with the truth of what he actually is in campaign ads and be relentless about it.

He is a white supremacist, a racist, this is his appeal to the racist factor of this country. He is hateful, and incites hate, division, and racism. His campaign slogan, -make America great again-, is him telling white people to -make the White House white again-.
He thinks blacks and other people of color are not supposed to occupy the white house.

Any black, or brown persons who supports him are self-loathing, and disgraceful.

I won't watch it, because his face is repellent, and I don't need to hear what it has to say.
I just watched "Selma" last night, and Turnip just makes me so sad, that he could sway people to be so ugly. Haven't we learned anything?
One thing I noticed about the reporting on the man who go sucker-punched in Phoenix. The RW sites are reporting that it was the protester in the KKK hood that got beat up, but it wasn't. It was the guy in the American Flag shirt that got cold-cocked and kicked by a man who's wife rubbed his back when he was done. If the truth is ignored, what hope is there for us?!?

When you ask a Trump supporter why they are supporting Trump for president of the U.S., they say because he speaks his mind and he is a businessman...WTF!..have people lost their damn minds?....or are they just that ignorant, uneducated, and shallow?!
He speaks his mind and he is a business man, this is all the qualifications these ignorant, shallow people expect of a U.S. president, leader of the free world.
I know many men and women who speak their minds, but they are not qualified to be leader of the free world. Actually speaking your mind all the time is not leadership material, it is dangerous for our nation, and the world.

The Trump supporters need to speak to the people California about how that worked for us by Arnold Schwarzenegger,(the businessman) getting electing to run the state...he ran the state into the ground, and it took a POLITICIAN, Governor Jerry Brown, to put us back into the the black again. Now our state is running smooth again, in the black.

I wonder if Drumpf's followers know or care that he is a business man with four, count them, four bankruptcies. Plus . . .

Trump's Vodka - bottle went dry
Trump's airlines - no longer lifting off the ground
Trump's Taj casino - crapped out
Trump's steaks - put to pasture
Trump's university - an F minus- and then some
Trump marriages - so much for those sacred marriage vows
Trump hair - orangey stringeys glued to his head
Trump's hands - itsy, bitsy Trump's hands, he likes to wave about

Trump himself: a bloated, repugnant wind-bag who degrades everything and everyone, most especially himself with his duplicitous provocations.

I've come to the conclusion that there are two factors that have led to the appalling and terrifying success of Trump in this campaign.

First, we have become a reality show nation. Each new show tries to out-outrageous the last, and our attention span pales in comparison to that of a gnat. Like an addict who needs increasing amounts of drugs to achieve a high, we are continuously searching for more intense entertainment to achieve our 'high'. The people who are supporting Trump are getting high on the circus and don't really care about the viability of the candidate to run the country. It's all about the lighting and costumes.

At the same time, these same people have spent the last 8 years watching the domination of the white Christian male declining rapidly. Not only do they constantly hear that they will soon become minority, but they've had images of a 'blah' President flashed in their faces every day. They're infuriated by the lack of scandal in his administration and cling to any absurd suggestion that he is destroying our beloved Constitution, which they're never actually read. They're scared and angry about losing the power they've taken for granted for so long, and they're grasping at any chance of getting that power back. As any good con man would, Trump has tapped into that fear and anger, and reinforced their beliefs that the 'others' are stealing their rightful inheritance. His campaign has become a symbol of the white man's last gasp.

What I really wonder about, however, is how much support Trump REALLY has in the grand scheme of things. The media is playing his popularity up for all it's worth because it gets them ratings and, by extension, money. Videos and photographs of his rallies are everywhere, and he is booked ad nauseam for every talk show on the air. But what is the actual percentage of people overall who are backing him? He may have an overwhelming majority of tea partiers, but how much of the general population does that add up to?

Although this is the first time in my 55 years that I've actually been scared about the outcome of a presidential election, I take some comfort in seeing how Trump himself is perpetually increasing the vitriol in order to keep his name in the headlines. There's a long way to go before the election, and he's already approaching the point at which anyone other than his ugliest supporters will decide he's gone too far. I hope.

      "...he's already approaching the point..."

I think he has reached that point; witness the protesters. The size of their crowds is all very recent.

I'm not too concerned about him because I think he will never, ever be President. Should I be wrong, well, we'll find a way to deal with it.

Americanized citizenship is a valued right but am really looking at all options.

Certainly during WWII, German citizens valued their country too and compromised themselves for this nationalism. I say compromised because I like to live in a world where fascism is scorned.

The reality is, fascism is dandy when you buy into it and you are not vulnerable to the hatred of the masses. And Trump and Palin use hatred as a vehicle to get what they want.

These are all good comments but I still am of the belief he won't be the choice for the general election. Trump is all about his brand, his ego is the candidate....he doesn't care enough about anyone to be a racist, I know that sounds funny but it's true. His true nature is being a con man, a grifter...he is a master at bluster and intimidation. The truth is Obama is black (1/2 black), highly educated, dedicated husband/father, above reproach...calm and deliberate, actually living his religion. He embodied everything the left hates so here comes the Tea Party, here comes Palin which lowered the bar to this point. Fox news has embraced all the GOP lies 24/7 and made Trump a media star for the last 7 years. All he does is scream out the dog whistles and adds the new ones he came up with (Mexico wall, Muslim ban) blah blah blah. Our national media is a disgrace..I can't even watch MSNBC anymore. Trump is just the latest reality show appealing to the same assholes that watch all the rest. I really think he has another plan, he knows he will lose to Hillary and will not allow himself to be in a debate with her which makes him look stupid. Something will happen before that, maybe at the convention...he has to save face and blame the elites to get out.
I am from NJ and have seen the man close up a few times in Atlantic City, he is so creepy it boggles the mind. I always said he had fish lips but ya know...it's more like an anus.

I think the rise of Trump has more to say about the public consumption of reality shows, and the dumbing down of the public by the media for NOT asking follow up questions, nor calling him out on the rug for what he's enticing to happen by ignoring it and not repudiating it. And by extension, the entire GOP for allowing this to go on unchecked for way too long. With the exception of a few shows, MSNBC has shot itself in the foot, CNN became FOX Lite, and Fox is the same as it always was, long on bullshit, short on facts.
Even Snookie grew a brain, got married and is expecting her second child.
